We walked in just five minutes before their closing time at 2:30, and I was apologizing, saying we'd just get a takeout menu and come back tomorrow. We were greeted enthusiastically and told, "go ahead and take a seat, we'll feed you!". We sat and ordered (someone else had just come in as well) and our food came out promptly. I got fried flounder with two veggies sides and DH got the same. Everything was hot and fresh and the sides were homemade and delicious. Our wait person was friendly and cheerful (even though we knew she was having stay late to serve us) and everyone treated us royally. We tipped double and will be coming back for sure!

Much like all of the reviews before me say, do not let the unassuming interior and exterior fool you, this spot has some delicious food. It was a hot September day, so we grabbed some chips & salsa, chips & guac, and a diet coke to cool off. They also have Mexican coke in the bottle, which is a nice treat. The guac was so fresh and flavored perfectly, I had to remind myself that I was sharing with another person so that I would not eat it all. Moving onto our entrees, I was really torn because the burgers look SO GOOD but I was really in the mood for tacos. I got an order of the shrimp tacos and my colleague got the burger that comes with chorizo on it. He raved about the burger so if this interests you, I think it is a good choice. His order also came with house made chips, which are always delicious. My tacos were fresh and had a crema on them. I thoroughly enjoyed. This is a great spot to stop in if you're nearby. Early Barber appointment in Hillsborough had me looking for breakfast soon after and Yelp reminded…read moreme of The Village Diner that was conveniently on my route back to the office. Not having the time to sit down and enjoy the meal (which I kind of regret after arriving to pick it up); I placed the order through the TOAST App and it was a very easy, straight-forward menu and ordering process. I went simple with a B-Y-O Biscuit of sausage and egg with a side of home fries. I really appreciated the choices of egg style on the biscuit customization menu and went with scrambled for this one. All of that washed down with a simple black coffee. Ten minutes later and I'm at the restaurant that's an easy, short jaunt from downtown on King Street. It occurred to me then that I'd been here once before when it was in the whole building but that was years ago. The new space is cozy, with a down-home feel of mason jar light fixtures, vintage signs, and just a nice diner vibe. A few minutes after arriving, I received my order and was out the door, pleasantly happy with an affordable breakfast in my hand. The food was excellent, the sausage tasted almost local, and the egg was perfectly cooked and proportioned. The biscuit was perfectly baked, slightly fluffy, with a buttery flavor that complimented the sausage and egg. Next time, I'll add a spoon of blackberry jam or apple butter and I think it would knock it put of the park. The home fries had good flavor, but I forgot to ask for any condiments, so eating them plain was a bit of a frustration, but they had a dusting of spices that worked. The coffee was piping hot, fresh, and what I would call standard fare diner coffee.... but you're not here for the coffee. All in all, highly recommended and I will be back, though maybe for a lunch meal next time.

It have me a chance to chat with the owner or mgr, not sure which, but either way, nice guy. They have a pizza joint next door that's open in the evening. I'm not really into biscuits so had a bacon, egg and cheese on potato bread. I was surprised that it was a half sandwich, but Bread Shop bread is so big I guess that's why. It was very tasty, although would have liked the bread a bit more toasted. They make their own pepper jelly on site so had that on the bread. It's not too spicy, but does have a bit of a zing. What I didn't use I brought home. If I'm in the area again I'd def give lunch a try.

This place is definitely not fast food, took nearly 15 minutes just to get a burger and fries. I was expecting it to be phenomenal after waiting so long, but the burger was very plain and had very little flavor. And the fries were undercooked, they weren't crispy at all. The prices are good, but I really don't think I would waste my time coming back here again.

I'm removing two stars for some frustrating and sadly ironic reasons…read more Junction is now under new ownership and it's not going well. The new owner has raised prices, reduced portion sizes, increased wait times for food readiness, and increased wait times for food ordering. Nearly all of the front-of-house staff has been replaced and there is a definite vibe of unrest when I walk in now (the few times that I still go there) Chip portions are bleak, the wraps are about two-thirds their previous size, and everything costs more... a recipe for disaster in my opinion. This was the ONE business in Mebane that needed absolutely nothing... it was turn key for any new owner and a guaranteed hit with the locals. Within a few months, the feedback from me and everyone else I've talked to is that it's now on the decline and we no longer recommend it to visitors, or family visiting. Absolute shame... but I shouldn't be surprised.

Despite the busy lunch crowd, we were seated immediately, and service was fast, friendly, and very much in line with that classic Southern hospitality vibe. Unfortunately, the food didn't really deliver. Portions felt small for the price, and the flavors were pretty underwhelming. I ordered the quarter-pound brisket with fried okra and mac and cheese, but nothing stood out. Sauce options were also limited--just a vinegar-based and a tomato-based option. We also noticed some quality control issues: one friend received burnt toast, while mine was barely toasted. Overall, the service was great, but the food fell flat. I'd probably try a different spot in the area next time, though BBQ options in Hillsborough are fairly limited.

We had my fiancé's grandparents with us, one of whom uses a wheeled walker, and the staff went out of their way to make sure they were comfortable. They even offered us a table inside once one became available after being cleaned, though by then we were already settled. For my meal, I had the 2 meat combo: half ribs and bbq chicken leg. The ribs were excellent--sauced, flavorful, and tender--though I would have liked a bit more bark. The BBQ chicken leg, however, was less impressive; the skin wasn't crispy and the texture of the meat felt a bit off. The mac and cheese was tasty but leaned toward the drier side. The white slaw was refreshing and balanced, not too tangy, and I really enjoyed the hushpuppies, which were golden and crispy. Portion size was just right for one person. Cocktails could've use some improvement, my rosemary refresher tasted watered down and lacked flavor.

My meal, the Charleston Crab Cakes, was really good too (I asked that they put the creamed corn on the side -- the crab cakes will come on top of the creamed corn if you don't make a special request). But when (not if) we return, I will be ordering the seafood pasta for sure because it was that good! A friend recommended the pork chops and the burgers. The ambience is quaint and the indoor dining space is very small and cozy. There was a bit of a wait when we arrived. I recommend making a reservation if you don't want to dine outdoors. It was January so too cold for us to eat outdoors because there is no heating and the overhead fans were on! Also, please bring a little patience for parking because this restaurant is in an area of downtown with limited parking.
