Dickey's is like the fast food version of barbecue. It's quick, filling, and reasonably priced (kind of). They have everything ready to go; they just have to quickly plate it up for you. I was surprised at how good the brisket and ribs tasted. Both of them were juicy and flavorful. Unfortunately their sides don't deserve to sit next to the meat. Both sides I got (loaded mashed potatoes and mac and cheese) lacked flavor. I wasn't a fan of their original sauce either. Overall it was a decent meal but idk that I would come back. I also saw a worker touch their shirt after touching food with their hands which grossed me out. What's the point in wearing gloves if you're wiping your hands on your shirt? read more

This place is amazing. The woman that owns it is the star of the show. A nurse for 30 years then she decided to get into the food industry. I'm a school counselor and she's allowed us to bring students so they could learn about running a business- then she fed all of them for free! She is truly the real deal and runs a business how one should be. I felt honored to meet her! The Mac and cheese I hear is out of this world and the pulled pork sandwiches were incredible! Shorted our to go order a sandwich and burnt ends. Returned after getting home. They didn't apologize for the issue. They acted as though they didn't believe us which drives customers away and then you receive reviews like this. They also assisted several other people after we had returned with the incorrect order giving the same exact food to others behind us in line. Well that was a huge disappointment. Let me get this straight, you're a smokehouse yet you still cook your wings in a fryer? That's not good. Ordered these guys through DoorDash and the meats came with zero BBQ sauce, dafuq? ZERO! Not even a little 2 oz cup, or sauce drizzled on the meats, zero. Most BBQ places are proud of their sauces, but apparently not you guys. Luckily I had some in the fridge. Roll with no butter or honey, and like I stated before the wings were not smoked, in a place that smokes meats, or at least I hope they do, starting to doubt that as well. There are too many great BBQ joints for you guys to be this horrible. On top of all that the meats were just subpar at best. Sorry guys but I won't be trying your food again anytime soon. Edit : so you post a request to reach out to you and for what? So it looks on here like you care? The service here was fast and the employee went above and beyond when the order I placed on the app didnt go through. I thought I would have to cancel my app order, wait for it to be refunded and then order again in store but the employee just made me a sandwich anyway and said just cancel the app order when you get home. I have been coming here for years and have never had a bad meal. My favorite is the beef brisket. A tip is to get it chopped. It's much more moist that way. They have a variety of sides including baked beans, potato salad, etc. They offer three sauce options that are in a heated container by the drink station. Last night, I ordered dinner for my family through the Dickey's App (Curbside Service - $94.12). I waited at home for about 15 minutes and went to the restaurant for my pick-up time. I checked-in when I arrived and after about 5 minutes, I called them because the "order progress" in the app hadn't changed. The woman who answered the phone asked me to hold, so I did. I wasn't on hold - she put the phone down. I waited another 10 minutes and she never picked the phone back up. So I hung up, and called back. I had to wait another 2-3 minutes to get a call through, but when they finally answered, I asked about my order. The young woman told me that they never received my order - their printer had run out of paper. I asked if they could look it up if I gave her my order number - she said no. They apparently have no way of looking up an order - even if it's placed on the Dickey's App. Really? After several more frustrating minutes of discussion and absolutely no progress, I walked into the store to get a refund. They told me they had to see my order confirmation (on my phone) and the credit card that I used to order. There was a handwritten sign on the door that read, "No orders placed inside. Pick-up Only." When I walked into the store, I was in shock. They didn't have any signage or decals/tape on the floor. There was an older woman at the register, but not behind it. She was actually standing at the edge of the counter, taking an order from a gentleman. She was handwriting the order, standing inches from him. When she finished writing his order, she walked to a young man behind the counter and gave him the piece of paper. She then stepped back to a back-counter, grabbed a bag of waffle fries, tore it open, and poured it into the fryer. Without missing a beat, she walked back up to the register to me. The staff members were wearing masks around their ears, but everyone had their mask pulled down under their chin. No one was wearing gloves, and no one washed or sanitized their hands. I knew at that moment, that even if they could magically make my order in seconds, I didn't want to eat there - it's clearly not safe. When she walked back up to me, she came within inches of me, I backed up. She said, "As soon as they told me they were out of paper, I filled it." No greeting, no apology, just defending her position of filling paper. I told her that I wanted a refund and showed her the order confirmation on my phone. She asked for the credit card that I used for the order, took it, AND MY PHONE from me and went to the credit card machine. Again, she was not wearing gloves or a mask (both are required right now). She completed my refund, handed my card, and the receipt back to me with one hand. My phone was still in her other hand. She actually looked down and started scrolling on my screen. Why on earth would she feel it was OK to attempt to do ANYTHING with my phone. This location is horrible. Horrible enough that I wouldn't trust my family's meal with ANY Dickey's location. Thankfully, there are plenty of other options in our community. If you value your health, friendly service, and people who care. Don't waste your time here. Our family is fortunate - we realize that - we've made it a point to order curbside pick-up meals 2-3 times a week, and to tip at least 20% each time. We know how hard the past 2+ months have been for the restaurant industry and those in it. I have seen so many places going to extraordinary lengths to ensure their staff and customers remain as safe as possible. And they've done it with a smile. This Dickey's is an embarrassment to their industry. read more

It was good. Not the best, but good. I got the meal of the day - it was Wednesday. Note that the price is not 8.99 for the daily deal. It's now 9 and change. The sign was not changed. The meat on the sandwich was good. Nice and tender and full of flavor. I got a side of Mac and Cheese and green beans with bacon. The Mac was good. Super cheesey. But the green beans had NO bacon in them, and they sated and looked like canned green beans. DON'T GET THE GREEN BEANS! As it was my first time the staff had the chance to prove themselves. The guy who made my sandwich was nice and gave me some info on the menu. The guy who put together my sides kinda stared out into space as I talked to him, but he wasn't rude. I was a little disappointed that I wasn't told you have to add your own sauce to the sandwich. It's not that I mind it - I think it's smart - but it would have been nice to be told. I got the sweet sauce. Twas good. They give you toppings for your sandwich. A slice each of what I think is cheddar cheese, onion slices, and pickles. I don't feel they give you enough pickles. But that's me. I think the cheese was old because on one of the edges it was hard. I only put the pickles on mine. The yellow cup they give you is plastic, so you can totally take it home and have a big cup! I like that I got iced tea which needed a Bunch of ice! They have their own parking. It seemed a little small to me, but then I was there at noon and there were 3 other people in the place. It's a little hard to find from the street if you haven't been there. But if you pull into where the Home Depot is, and drive over towards it, you can get there without going back onto Sheradin. Overall I thought it was a tasty meal for under ten bucks. Oh, and this is a place where you get money back through Yelp! So sign up for that! I thought the place was clean. When more people came in and there was a lull a guy went around to wipe off tables and chairs, which is always good to see. If you're looking for good BBQ, check it out. read more

I am a self proclaimed BBQ enthusiast. I'm Texan. I worked at a top 50 (per Texas Monthly) BBQ restaurant in Fort Worth for 5 years. I know what good Texas BBQ is. We ate at Dickey's in Allen, TX for awhile a long time ago. It was good, had family coupons frequently and was closer. Not the best TX BBQ, but not bad. Then one day we showed up to find that they were selling fish, and changed the look of the kitchen to "hide" more from view. We never went back, That was maybe 12 years ago, I visited the Thornton location after moving to Denver and working near there. There's a separate review there. I came to expect $15 for lunch with a sliced brisket sandwich, two sides, and a 1/4 lb of jalepeno sausage. Always filling. Ordered the same thing at this Westminster location and wish I had not. The staff wasn't overly excited about a paying customer. Thornton isn't either though-but the quality of food makes up for it. What I received on my plate was so sad. Almost like the girl serving me was mad at me for something and I don't know why. See the picture and you'll understand. I ate quickly and left. I won't go back to that location with Thornton just about the same distance in a different direction. read more

I want to say I travel around the country eating BBQ for fun. This was my families first time here. Our fist impression was an amazing smell as you drive up. My second impression is why do they have three people watching one guy take and make orders when there is a line out the door? After a short wait we got our food and it smelled awesome. We were surprised by the good amount of portions we got. We ended up ordering too much. While we were eating the building got kind of smokey, little to smokey for my taste. We did like the fact the owners were there walking around checking on people, same ones standing around watching two people do all the work. Although I did like the sauce and the food. It's not Moes. We ordered from this Dickey's through Uber Eats. On a positive note, the fried okra was quite good and the restaurant packed the sauce, onions, pickles and slaw for the sandwiches on the side. They did not include the requested utensils. The more significant issues: 1) We ordered ranch dressing to go with the okra. The small container was only half full; less than an ounce of dressing for fifty cents. 2) We ordered one each of three different BBQ sauces. There were 5 unlabeled sauce containers in the bags as the sauces for our two sandwiches were served on the side. We assumed we could figure out what was sweet, original and spicy by appearance or taste. We tried each one multiple times and poured a small amount of each on a piece of bread. We could not even figure out which was the spicy sauce, let alone pair the two sweet or two original together. Fortunately, they did not taste different enough for us to care which one we poured over the meat in our sandwich. 3) Furthermore, the amount of sauce included was insufficient for the pulled pork sandwiches even though sauce is supposed to be included. 4) the Texas toast was made from a regular piece of bread, not the thick bread pictured. We paid 50 cents to an extra piece of bread. For 50 cents we received HALF of a thin, normal size piece of bread. 5) I have had better baked beans from a can--almost any can. 6) The potato salad tasted and looked the same as a less expensive brand of packaged potato salad. 7) I paid 75 cents to add slaw to my pulled pork sandwich. It came in one of the small containers and the container was barely over half full and was an insufficient amount to thinly top the sandwich, 8) the pecan pie tasted like a cheap store bought "processed" pecan pie. Neither of us wanted more than one bite. 9) my adult son said the baked potato casserole tasted like artificial potatoes. If I did not see small chunks of real potato in the casserole, I would have thought it was made with processed/dried potatoes. Neither of us wanted to eat it either. We ordered two sides of it and ate less than half of one. I also thought it was too salty. 10) the corn muffins were dry with ok flavor and needed butter, which was not provided. We gave Dickeys a shot about ten years ago and only remembered that we both thought that the soft serve was the best part of the meal. We thought we should give them another chance. Too bad there was no soft serve with this order, so we could have liked something other than the okra, the slices of pickle provided for the pulled pork sandwich and the bun. read more

I've enjoyed this barbecue spot for 20+ years, and I probably stop in to the Westminster Colorado location Dickey's Barbecue 4-6 times a year. It's always dependable, and always good. I don't get the same thing every time, but I always really enjoy my food, and the staff is always pleasant. Went in yesterday about 2pm. Ribs were perfect, brisket was 4-star and bbq beans and green beans were right on. I used to own a Dickey's that won food and operations awards, so I know when it's right, and this crew did well! Dickey's locations can be spotty due to their poorly-managed growth at the chain level (my old location is now a disaster), so I applaud the crew for doing all the little things that mean the difference between a great bbq experience and a lousy one. BBQ takes true crafting and cooking to come out right and it shows in the results. On the "4-star" brisket, I wonder if the recipe has changed? I don't get as much spice from the wet rub nor as much smoke flavor anymore. Can you provide info on that? Kudos to you otherwise! read more
