Went yesterday around 2pm. One other person before us in line. Waited for 5 min as other workers stood around. Made our meals. Food was pretty good. Service could have been better. I felt it was over priced for what I got. The floors in there are extremely slippery when wet. read more

This is a self serve eatery that is new to Springboro. The first thing I noticed was that several of the girls serving up the food had very long hair that was not pulled back and one girls hair was very close to sweeping the sides as she reached for the ones in the back. We each got the brisket sandwich with 2 sides. The green beans had so much pepper that they were difficult to eat. The slaw and Mac and cheese were good. The brisket was good but the bbq sauces were very thin and had little flavor. The 2 sandwiches , 4 sides with 2 small drinks totaled about $25, which I thought was a little pricey. We may have been better off to just get the Plates for the price. I would compare this to City Bbq, but there is really no comparison. I would take City Bbq anytime. read more

Had gone to another Dickey's location in Cincinnati and ate there and it was pretty good. Told my husband we needed to go to the new location in Springboro as we were excited for something new. Went online to put in a carry out order for my husband to pick up. The online ordering was pretty easy, however after picking it up and paying $30 for three sandwiches and three sides, when he came home they gave him none of the BBQ sauce and only one of two fry orders. Nothing like a dry sandwich. Yuck. Feel they are overpriced for what you get and even worse when you don't get what you ordered. Not interested in returning. read more

We had a volleyball team lunch here on a very busy Sunday afternoon. The manager, forgive me, I can't remember her name, was so accommodating. All of our girls sat together and ate the lunch that was brought out for them. They were given plates, forks and the big yellow cups. After they ate, they enjoyed the vanilla ice cream that was colored green for St. Patrick's Day. We were very appreciative of how our party was treated and will definitely be back! read more

My wife and I first discovered Dickeys BBQ in Dallas Texas while visiting our daughter. It was. Love at first bite, we were so thrilled we would have one opened up near by in Springboro. My staff and I ordered food from this location for lunch. Our food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. When we opened the containers, the meat (ribs, brisket and chicken) looked very dry. We thought that perhaps it would look and taste better if we added the barbecue sauce that we ordered. We searched the bags for the barbecue sauce and noticed that it was not included. I called the location and I was told that yes the barbecue sauce should have been included but.... sorry. Needless to say, we had to eat the dry tasteless ribs without sauce! This is my second time trying Dickey's. The first time was months ago, and it was less than stupendous to say the least. This time I thought I would give them a second try, maybe an off night as a newly opened restaurant was the cause of my previous disappointment. Well, shame on me for giving them that second try. Let me start with the positives... I ordered the 3-meat meal, and the Cole slaw and green beans were delicious. If the place was called Dickey's Cole Slaw & Green Beans, I think they would have gotten 5-stars. I ordered Chicken Breast, Pulled Pork, and sliced Beef Brisket. The chicken breast was dry, and the slices seemed to be from the ends of the chicken breast. The pulled pork was mediocre at best with no real smoke flavor to the meat. The sliced brisket turned out to be not sliced but tiny pieces of fat and what could only be described as beef jerkey that at first bite I thought were small shards of bone. I LOVE brisket burnt ends, but his was ridiculous. If you don't give 2-cents for what you put in your belly, and you have never had GOOD barbecue, then this is the place for you. If you have ever eaten a GOOD piece of smoked meat that literally makes you question how you have gotten through life without it, then stay far away from this place. read more

I had eaten at this chain before in Wisconsin and southern Ohio. The food is always good. Many options to choose from and many that I still haven't tried. Service was good and they brew their own iced tea which is a must for a proper barbeque joint. A complimentary and real (not the face McDonald's-like soft serve) ice cream cone treat at the end. The only odd thing about my experience was the fact that they serve bread rolls with every meal but they don't have butter packets. Maybe it is an oversight on their part and it will be corrected. The oddest part is that when I asked for a packet of butter for the bread, the staff looked at me like I had three heads... Odd, right? Oh well, a great place none the less and I recommend it. The manager and service at this location is outstanding. The manager's wife came by several times to make sure everything was satisfactory, and she was quite personable. Our group had gathered for a reunion after several years, and we sat at two tables until closing. They never bothered us or rushed us to leave. First impressions are everything I think these days. Upon entering your restaurant we weren't greeted, instead we got 'what can we get you'. The impression we got was that we were taking to much of their time up (no one was behind us). After we placed the order we were quickly asked what sides and then by the cashier 'what did you get'. If she had been observant she could had just listened as no one else was in line. I had an order of waffle fries and they said they would be brought out. I originally was going to sit down but noticed that the table was dirty, no problem I thought just move to another one. Well there were 5 tables dirty. So we found one that was clean and sat down. My fries finally came out, (I had to wave the guy down, only 3 tables in the restaurant full). Anyway, we had a pretty tasty meal until my friend found a piece of plastic wrapper in the pork! we assumed it was wrapped around the meat maybe? Needless to say, good thing our meal was almost over. I thought about complain right then but I'm not the type of person to complain much and anyone can make a mistake, but I still should have. Especially since we watched the four employees that was on staff laugh and talk and stand around basically the whole time we were there. Two came out at one point and I thought oh good they are going to clean the tables off. NOPE!~they just came out to get themselves soda and return to talking back behind the counter. I glanced down and heard another table say 'but the trash is full', so yes I looked and the trash can closest to the rear entrance door was not just full, but over flowing! I know that fast service jobs draw younger workers with little experience, but it is a shame that they are collecting a salary for such poor performance. Sadly missed the mark. I understand we went on the 3rd day of being open but service sets the standard. We tried to place an order online but it would not work so we placed a phone in order. It was no ready when we arrive at the given time and people in line were served far before we were. The biggest way to explain the food is typical. You can get more food for a better price at other local BBQ chains. Sadly feeding a family of four for $50+ with just okay food won't keep up coming back. I have visited numerous Dickey's in Texas over the years and I would say this one in Springboro ranks right up there at the top. My mother and I were greeted upon arrival and the Dickey's team inquired about our meal numerous times during our visit. The portions were large and value for the price! I went to Dickey's to pick up 4 carry out dinners (2 - 3 meat plates, 2 -1 meat plates) for friends that just had a baby. The restaurant was empty of customers with 3 young men in the kitchen. They packed up the meat and said they're out of mac n chs and if I wanted could wait twenty minutes. I chose to substitute with potatoes and added a gallon of sweet tea to order, then paid. He gives me a half gallon of tea and tells me that this is all the tea they have. I was in a bit of a hurry so didn't catch I was charged for a full gallon of tea and received a half gal. I delivered the meals and realize no sauce is in the bag! This place is called Dickey's BARBECUE Pit. What BBQ place doesn't put BBQ sauce with it's meals?! I called the store and asked to speak to the manager. I told him that we're regular customers and what had happened with my order this time. He tells me (in a flippant and rude tone) that the sauce is on a side table. I should've gotten my own, even for carry out, and I would know that if I was a regular customer. I told him it was my first time ordering as a CARRY OUT, and that restaurants like Bob Evans includes the sauces needed so I just assumed everything needed would be in the bag. He said, "We don't do things the way you think we should and we aren't Bob Evans." That will be our last time visiting Springboro Dickey's BBQ! read more

Our family has been three times since it opened! We love it! We've had the brisket, pulled pork, turkey and chicken. The sides are my favorite- the mac n cheese and green beans, and baked potato casserole are delish. I love their sweet tea, my husband loves the coke machine where you have lots of choices. Love that the kids eat free on Sunday, that's right free!! The service was great, everyone was very kind and polite. We will visit again soon! read more
