Went here today for lunch with a bunch of Gulfstream'ers. Place is pretty nice inside, the kid taking orders wasn't exactly helpful though. That being said, we got the combo with the pulled pork and 2 sides and it was good. The sauces are also very tasty. If they were smart they would offer that pulled pork deal for lunch everyday, I know tons of people that would get that everytime. I will go back for sure!!! read more

We caught their sign on the highway, and I saw free ice cream on Yelp. Free ice cream? Of course that was enough to bring me in even though I missed the exit and had to backtrack a little... The only downside was that I was so stuffed by the time I was ready for Ice Cream that I kind of had to make myself have some just because that's what brought my silly self in. Let's talk about the food. I want to compare it with Four Rivers in the Orlando area, but what's the chance that you've eaten there? Well, if you haven't, make sure you do, because it's amazing. Well, this is one step down from that. But that's not an insult. The food was still really, really good. It was like great BBQ in a bit of a Quiznos atmosphere, to compare to a more widespread chain. As such, you order from a menu on the wall behind where the food is prepared, in-between being glass to watch, if you so desire. I had a sandwich that let me pick two meats. Of course I went with the pulled pork and decided to throw some sausage on there for good measure. The sausage was cheese-infused, and overall made for a good combination. I don't particularly remember the fries being super amazing, but my lady apparently does. We caught this place for lunch on the way to North Carolina, and she mentioned coming back just for their waffle fries. They must have done something right! If they were local to me, I'd come back now and then - well, if I didn't have the super-amazing-bestest-ever BBQ joint in the whole wide world here in Orlando. The food here gave me a very painful stomachache for hours. We got the brisket sandwich combo with baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw, and fried okra. The brisket was ok, but kind of bland. The baked beans were awful and a can of Bush's Baked Beans would've been a whole lot better. The potato salad was just ok, tasted like something was missing. The coleslaw and fried okra were ok. The barbecue sauces were very watery, thin, and not very tasty. The sweet BBQ sauce tasted like bad pancake syrup, and the other 2 were just ok. The tables and chairs seemed grimy, and I ended up throwing away half of my meal because it made my stomach hurt incredibly bad. You couldn't pay me to come back here. The coleslaw was good and I liked the smokey flavor of the ribs, but I think they were a little more salty than I like. The owner and staff at this Dickey's goes a step further: they are friendly and are putting their heart and soul into making your stop the best experience on I-95. Miss Rhonda, the shop manager when we visited, explained the meats, how they were slow smoked, and her favorite sides (try the fried okra!). The counterman had tried all of the menu and could offer advice, or just make a custom plate, charging you by the pound of meat. As at all Dickey's, pickles and soft-serve ice cream are complementary. With that kind of pride in their food, this Dickey's sparkles inside and out. read more

Walked in to such a savory aroma. I knew I was in for some good eats. Watched them cut and chop my brisket right in front of me; it was juicy and crisp. Just the right amount of smoke flavor. For $7ish you get a sandwich, and a side. There are a lot of sides to choose from. I enjoyed my awesome brisket and sampled some of my wife's pork sandwich. It was equally as tasty. Wasn't expecting to have free ice cream after such a tasty meal. Great meal and affordable prices. Highly recommended! read more

Very good barbecue sauce! (Sweet is the best but the original and hot are good too.) Also very good pulled pork and brisket. The beans have a nice ring to it as well. Definite 5 stars! We loved the waffle fries and Ice cream! The Pulled Pork was HEAVENLY! So Good! I thought the ice cream was a tad to soft though, probably because it was super fresh! The ribs were good too. Perhaps the worse BBQ I've ever had. I ordered the two-meat place (pulled pork & brisket), my wife order the two-meat plate also (brisket & Kielbasa). The pulled pork was 50% fat, the brisket was 60% fat. I would not feed either to a dog. My wife's brisket was acceptable (not as fussy) and she said the kielbasa was good. My side were green beans and potato salad. The green beans were mush, and seemed to have been cooked for the last two or three days. The potato salad was good. My wife picked okra (good) and something else she could not eat. This cost us over $28 and a total waste of money. We were served on filthy metal trays covered with butcher paper, plastic utensils, no napkins, at a dirty table. The walls were very dirty, along with the floor. The staff should be ashamed of themselves for their lack of concern and customer service. It amazes me that this place is still in business. Horrible Experience! Never Again! read more

Went there for lunch on a Friday and both me and my wife ordered the Friday special - the pulled pork plate. First thing that was kind of intimidating was the volume of people squeezed into this tiny restaurant and yelling out orders at the servers behind the counter. The restaurant was clean and cozy once you got over the initial chaos. The main entree - the pulled pork was very good. The beans, Mac & cheese and the fried okra were not so good. They were either bland or too salty. The beans need some bacon or something. The sweet tea was great! The staff were nice but one lady did have an attitude when my wife told her that she did not order the fries but the beans instead. Not as good as Sonny's but I would go back if I was craving some pulled pork. No sides for me though. read more

I went to Dickey's around 11:45 - they have only been open for about 45 mins. I ordered half a rack of ribs. Luckily they had them available this times since my last and first visit, they didn't have any. I even sampled it prior. I asked the server if I could possibly taste it. After tasting, I didn't want to buy it but I did ONLY because the server and the cashier's attitudes made it seem like it was an inconvenience to sample their product. The food was cold, the sauces were cold and this place is a mess. My roommate order a taco - don't recall which one and now he has food poisoning. Sad to say, but I won't be going to any Dickey's. Just visited Dickey's on Memorial Day 2014. We were surprised based on their long history how bad it was. The pulled pork was okay, the ribs were terrible. They didn't even pull the membrane off the ribs and they could have been cooked three hours longer. Hope"dickey" is reading this. The fried onions were horrid. They tasted like they were fried in fish grease. Sweet BBQ sauce tasted like maple syrup yuck! Dickey --- time to do a taste test. We give it a 1 for food and a 3 for service. read more
