We stopped here while on a trip. We were first not impressed with an employee sitting by the front door smoking. We gave it a try. I had the pulled pork sandwich with mac n cheese. Hubby had the pork plate with fries and okra. The pork was really dry and lacked flavor. It was also tough. The Mac n cheese had little flavor. The fried okra was ok. The fries were supposed to be fresh cut, but she got them from the freezer and put them in the fryer. . Same with the okra. At least the fryer will kill the germs. The drink machine was broken to top it off. The staff displayed little personality. As we left they were right behind us lighting up cigarettes and sitting by the front door. The turkey, chicken, and brisket are my favorite smoked meats from Dickeys. I was first introduced to Dickey's at the Dallas Fort Worth Airport (DFW). It was soooo good to me that I ordered a plate to take on the plane to my destination and ordered another when I flew back in to take home. A month or so ago the meals were great. I love okra but last time it had only 1/2 serving of okra which was large pieces and tough. Could not eat. My last order was 2 brisket sandwiches and 2 fries. They only now give you 1/2 serving of fries about 10 fries and the barbecue sauce was watered down. Cost $28 without drinks is a little too much. I love their meals but we need to get what we pay for. read more

Not sure if I am the only one that thinks the brisket by the pound is rather high priced? Just wondering what you think? 30$ a pound is the price I saw. Although the food was OK, the service was bad and the young men working were more interested in talking and joking with each other than serving the customers. I was even pretty po'd that I asked for two cups of ice and the register worker gave me cups of ice and charged me $3.50 without mentioning there was a charge. That's just lousy service and I realized it after I left and looked at the receipt. If that's a policy, tell the customer! GREAT Bbq and kids eat free on Sundays! Was amazing today! We were just driving through town and got lucky to find this place.

I like this place. Despite a strip mall location, the food was better than I expected. I had the sausage and Mister had the shredded pork. Both were delicious. The sides were really good too (just know they're a la carte). The sauces were good, not special, but good. The only thing is that a few flies made it inside and fanning them was a pain. I spent a good bit of time fighting to keep them from getting near my food. read more

I worked there for a cpl of days I got called a cunt 5 minutes after I came in by a customer and nothing was done about it so later on another customer came in and got an attitude. So instead of me showing my butt I went to the manager and said I need a to go outside or something so I don't disrespect y'all or this restraunt or loose my job. Well they sent me home early. I came in the next day and worked the whole shift. Then I was off till they called me and gave me my schedule. Well they didn't. I had to call them and she tells me that the manager would call me back. She never did. My friends and I stopped here for a lunch break during an incredibly long drive down for a holiday vacation, and we were not disappointed! This place is cheap while also maintaining the expectations of what good southern BBQ should taste like. I got the special for the day (Friday) which was a pulled pork plate which also comes with two sides, a roll, and a drink, all for just $8.99! Meat was very tender and moist and paired great with all of the BBQ sauces. They have the sauce on the side in warmers with three to choose from (hot and spicy, sweet, and traditional). I chose green beans and fried okra as my sides, and while the fried okra was a hit, I think the green beans were too salty for my tastes. Staff was very friendly and you can even grab some free soft-serve vanilla ice cream on your way out. Bathroom was also reasonably clean which was really important for us during our extended road trip. Overall, I wish I had a Dickey's near my hometown, for I'd go there all the time! read more

I was going to Dickey's BBQ for their Wednesday special ($3 pork BBQ sandwich) but they've since pulled that offer. The BBQ was ok. A bit too greasy, not a very large portion, but a decent deal for $3. The staff was always a pain to deal with, never very nice or friendly. Anyway, I've discovered the Smoking Pig in Richmond Hill and don't plan to ever visit Dickey's again. I suggest everyone else do the same. read more

Absolutely horrible food! $43 for two people - I think we were over charged. I got takeout and took food back to our hotel. Restaurant was closed by the time I opened food and saw what I had - old dried out, smelled bad burnt ends. Tasted off. We felt it best to not eat the meat for fear of getting sick. Rubbery old fries, clearly not fresh. Baked potato casserole was awful! Beans were only thing even remotely decent. We threw the meal in the garbage and went to bed hungry after a long days travel. I said we had heard that this was the place to come for good barbecue and one of them replied ,"sometimes". I asked when we should come back. We all laughed and the wife ordered a one meat plate (brisket) and ordered a two meat plate (Brisket and pulled pork). Both were served on butcher paper. We both had the cole slaw. wife had baked beans I had the jalapeno beans. We both liked the sides. They were decent. The meat though is why we came. Brisket was so dry I wanted to cry. We got the 3 meat platter and chose brisket, ribs and ham! OMG these ribs are THE BEST! Meat falls clean off the bone. And the brisket was phenomenal. Sweet tea is to die for. The staff is super friendly! The two gentlemen working this particular Saturday night were amazing considering we got there right before they closed. They offered us extra biscuits and did not rush us or make us feel hurried. And to top of this already amazing experience, you get a free ice cream cone for dessert! Went here today for lunch with a bunch of Gulfstream'ers. Place is pretty nice inside, the kid taking orders wasn't exactly helpful though. That being said, we got the combo with the pulled pork and 2 sides and it was good. The sauces are also very tasty.
