The turkey, chicken, and brisket are my favorite smoked meats from Dickeys. I was first introduced to Dickey's at the Dallas Fort Worth Airport (DFW). It was soooo good to me that I ordered a plate to take on the plane to my destination and ordered another when I flew back in to take home. So every time I see one, I am going to stop because we don't have this chain in North Carolina! The Mac n cheese, green beans, original bbq sauce are banging! I'll be back soon!

I like this place. Despite a strip mall location, the food was better than I expected. I had the sausage and Mister had the shredded pork. Both were delicious. The sides were really good too (just know they're a la carte). The sauces were good, not special, but good. The only thing is that a few flies made it inside and fanning them was a pain. I spent a good bit of time fighting to keep them from getting near my food.

    BBQ time.

We stopped at Georgia welcome center and we saw this place advertised. To be honest we didn't go there at first. Place that we wanted to eat was so packed that we left. When we walked in to Dickey there was no wait. I ordered 1 meat plate with pulled pork and side dishes and my husband ordered 2 meat plate with pulled pork and keilbasa. Pulled pork was gooooooood with 3 choices of bbq sauce on side. At the end of our meal we got free soft serve ice cream.

The sides are not all that great, and the free ice cream is not really free when considering the price of the other food.

I wish this place was franchising in my area. The food is serve yourself, cook yourself and there are so many options, you will miss 50%. We ordered the Hot Pot and Grill because there's only a couple dollars difference. They have quite a lot of flavors, and I was informed none contained MSG. (I hope that's true) The prices are some of the cheapest I have seen, for the quality of food available. Guys, here is the best part, after we grilled our first round of meat, they actually changed out our grill. That has never happened. Not even in Korea! Can you please franchise in Virginia???There was a line on a Saturday at 3pm but we were seated and beginning to eat within 25 minutes. Could there be any negatives here? Not with the food or service... however... they make up a lot of profit in drinks. Soju is 17.00 a bottle and a lemonade was 7.99. Probably not the place you want to order drinks, unless it's a special occasion. Other than that, this will be our new stop by when traveling through. Absolutely amazing service and quality.

I stopped by for lunch and was greeted with a helpful person behind the register. I haven't had good Korean friend chicken since living in New England, so this was a great treat. The prices are higher than other places that specialize in chicken in this area, but it's full of flavor. Also love the pickled radish, but didn't like that I had to order that as a side. I'm used to that coming with the chicken as a palate cleanser, esp. if you have two savory flavors - my favorite combo here was the garlic spicy and red hot spicy. I came in on a weekday around 2 and it's was pretty empty, but I did some work while waiting for my food. Definitely going back!

I tried the garlic honey fried wings and they were really delicious. They definitely have a little bit of a kick when you first bite them, but as you continue eating them, the heat kinda slows down. At first, the price point can also seem a little pricey, but overall I think it was really worth it. I was able to have a 10 piece between myself and my spouse for two nights of dinner. I also didn't realize that they serve things like beer and wine and had available seating, so I'll definitely be back to try to dine in instead of taking out. I still had no issues with the takeout option, as my food was still piping hot by the time I got it home. They also have really cute decor inside.

His chicken sandwich you could tell was a fresh chicken breast not too thick or breading and decent seasoning. The fries are thicker crinkle cut and were good. My plate came and the shrimp were definitely seasoned I'm pretty sure blackened but that was great I love that flavor. I was disappointed thinking I was just gonna get boring grilled shrimp. My car fish was flaky and delicious. The Cole slaw was ok tasted homemade. The star for me on my plate was the deviled crab. We ordered off the menu rather than the buffet -- though both were available and the buffet looked well-stocked and genuinely tempting. My husband had the Shrimp & Grits: Georgia shrimp over stone-ground grits with andouille sausage, peppers, onions, bacon, and a sherry cream sauce. Rumor had it that was the move, and the rumor was right. The grits alone were the kind you don't stop talking about -- velvety, deeply seasoned, the kind of base that makes everything sitting on top of it taste better than it already is. I went with the fried catfish, a side of mac and cheese, and a bowl of gumbo. Honest take: the catfish itself was good -- the fish was fresh and well-flavored -- but the batter had gone a little soggy, which kept it from landing where it could have. That's the kind of thing that varies by timing, not kitchen quality. The mac and cheese, though, was exactly what you want: cheesy without being gluey, hot all the way through, properly indulgent. And the gumbo -- chicken and sausage, rich and built with patience -- was the best thing on my side of the table. On a rainy afternoon in coastal Georgia, it was exactly right. Then there was the cornbread, served with peach cobbler butter. That detail alone tells you something about how this kitchen thinks. It's not an afterthought. It completed everything around it. I'm not from the South, and I won't pretend to have a lifetime of comparison points. But there's a kind of food that makes you feel like you were born into it anyway -- like your body already knew what it was tasting. That's what happened here. Good for road trippers, families, rainy days, and anyone who needs a real meal after a long stretch of highway. Four stars, with the grits alone pulling hard toward four and a half.
