Thank you Dickey's for being one of the few places open during Thanksgiving Day! Called in a huge order to celebrate my Team. We ordered the brisket, chicken wings, mashed potatoes, cabbage slaw and mac n cheese. The brisket was huge in portion, and the chicken wings were sticky (amazing)! The mashed potatoes and mac n cheese were average. Disappointed in the cabbage slaw, wish it was a coleslaw instead. What won our hearts over was their BBQ house sauce, both original and spicy. We went to visit some friends for a social distancing dinner and hang out time. My friend had good experiences ordering from Dickey's in the past and saw that they had a family pack for four people, so since there were four of us we decided to try it out. The meal comes with your choice of meat, two sides, sauce, toppings, and buns. We opted for pulled pork, their Carolina BBQ sauce, macaroni and cheese, and Caesar salad. The food all tasted really good. The pulled pork had a great, smoky flavor on its own and tasted really great with the Carolina sauce. The macaroni and cheese was creamy and yummy, and the Caesar dressing that came with the salad was also good. The buns were small slider style and were soft and good with the pork. Really, our main complaint was that while the meat portion was fairly generous, the side portions were really small for four people. We all had to skimp on our amounts to make sure everyone had enough. It's good for calorie counting and probably more indicative of what an actual serving size should be, but when you have four hungry people that want to enjoy a splurge on takeout the sizes weren't adequate. I still opted to go with four stars because the food was tasty, but it's really standing at more of a 3.5 because I don't feel you get as much value for your money with the portions. I will try them again next time I'm in the area and see how the individual meals are portioned versus the family pack. read more

Easter dinner for one during COVID-19 quarantine. First time in and they gained a new customer. The full menu was available for delivery or takeout. I got the family meal for lots of leftovers during the ensuing week. 1 lb. each of sliced chicken and sliced brisket. Both meats were flavorful and the brisket was wonderfully lean. My partner and I were really craving some pulled pork and ribs, sad to say I am still craving both. We got the pulled pork sandwich plate with sweet barbecue with fries and baked beans and 6 ribs with Mac n cheese. We ordered through a 3rd party app and when it was delivered we were missing the sweet barbecue sauce, utensils and fries. The sandwich without the sauce was so terribly dry, I couldn't even finish a sandwich I'd usually devour in 5 seconds. The fries missing was sad but what was even more sad was that since my fries weren't there I was really looking forward to the beans but my job doesn't have utensils and I was provided with any so I really ended up eating 2% of my food and was super disappointed for the $50 I spent with the hour wait. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by an associate preparing food and the manager/owner met me at the door to explain the menu options. The cashier was super friendly and outgoing. There are lots of options and they all looked delicious. I decided to go with a brisket sandwich with beans and potato salad. I loved everything. I especially liked that the potato salad was very cold and that the beans were not gummy. The brisket was moist and tender. Okay-ish. We've been on the hunt for a great bbq place and we're still looking. The food is bland without much flavor at all. I want bbq that you can eat with or without sauce but at Dickeys, you need the sauce because the meat is very dry. With a 3 item platter, they give a tiny sauce cup that was barely enough for one piece of meat. I ended up having to use a bottle of bbq that I had in the fridge to make it able to be swallowed. It was that dry. The sides are bland and I had to doctor them up as well. Not worth it. We'll keep looking for a delicious bbq joint in Orlando. read more

Friday night and i'm headed out to a friends. As I was riding over I decide to stop with my friend and try the new BBQ joint out. I'm very excited about eating BBQ since I'm a lover of good ol BBQ. First, I must say the restaurant has great interior and the customer service experience was good. Next, I asked an over energetic employee about what "1st timer" should try. Ribs!!!! Stopped in on Friday night with my stepdaughter to grab some food Togo. This was our second choice, as our first choice down the road was closed already. Had never been to a Dickey's before so was hoping for some good BBQ. When we walked in there was a place to order near the front, but no cash, and it seemed unorganized. The gentleman we ordered with was very friendly and willing to help answer my questions about the menu. We ordered chicken breast and he told us there would be a 10 minute wait because it wasn't fully cooked yet - no problem we will wait. The menu board above where we stood didn't suggest anything other than meat so I guess I would order my sides later on. After 10 minutes food was ready. So we moved to the other side and ordered our side dishes. The cashier wasn't too friendly, but it didn't bug us too much. So here are my positives: - the spicy BBQ sauce was amazing! - we were given a free large side of Mac & Cheese for my stepdaughter due to the wait. My cons: - the chicken was still undercooked. Not a great experience. We ordered take out and they left out two thirds of the meat and one of our desserts. After I called it was clear the employees do not understand the menu. We had to drive all the way back to get the food. The manager was nice enough and promised to put "extra desserts" in the bag which ended up being one piece of pie half wrapped in plastic wrap but with the crust uncovered. The staff was very friendly, as we were looking at the menus one of the employee's was jumping up and down waving us in. The food was prepared quickly. The beef brisket was so tender it fell apart on the fork and felt like it melted in your mouth. The polish kelbosa was also delicious. There home made barbecue sauce was amazing, especially the sweet. They had yummy homemade sweets (cookies, brownies and pie) And free vanilla ice cream. Which satisfied the sweet tooth. We decided to drop by here for dinner to go. The three man crew on duty were doing an excellent job of keeping the orders going out the door. Manuelle (sp?) was very personable and despite their location being busy that evening he offered a sample of three meat options. Boy! That made it very hard to decide which menu plate to go with. The ribs were decidedly not short on the meat to bone ratio. The pulled pork was not overdone (like at other BBQ places we have tried) and the chicken was very well seasoned and far from bland. Definitely plan on going back while in town. The small location offered limited indoor seating as well as an out door seating area. Ideal for a small family of four. Almost $35 bucks for 2 dinner plates. Our Brisket was about as stale, dried out and hard as possible! The ribs were a 5 on a scale of 10 (would have given a one star but the ribs are halfway decent) however for $16 bucks you can take my world for it. The sides aren't even good. I'm not sure what the hype is. Maybe the Jensen location is better but I'm not going to find out. Hard pass. I tried this place for the first time after seeing it open on Colonial. My wife got a pulled pork sandwich and liked it fine. I ordered a combo platter with brisket and burnt ends. The brisket was like tough dried-out roast beef. I couldn't even cut it with the plastic knife they provided. The burnt ends were also cubes of rock hard meat with a kinda gross sauce on them. Needless to say I was very disappointed and won't be going back. There are much better BBQ options nearby. The only saving grace was the self serve ice cream for free. On a post-Covid lockdown afternoon I had a taste for 'Que but didn't have the gumption to fire up the smoker for a few hours. So, thought I might give the recently opened Dickey's Barbecue Pit strip center store on West Hwy. 50 a try. Had a walk-in to-go order of the sliced Brisket Classic Sandwich Plate ($9.50 - Includes sandwich and two regular sides of your choice.) The order provided an average size sandwich appropriately laden with BBQ beef brisket and my selected sides of coleslaw & potato salad. However, it seems the meat man (or woman) could use a few tips for proper brisket slicing technique. No matter how skilled the pit master may be, slicing a brisket along the grain of the muscle (instead of more properly across the muscle grain) is always going to provide a toothier, stringy piece of protein. The barbecue brisket was smokey & flavorful with a decent bark, but most every sandwich bite included using a fork to separate the meaty bite from the fresh bun. The requested Spicy BBQ Sauce had a nice peppery bite to it (that is a good thing) served up by the abundance of crushed red pepper flakes it contains. The Dickey's coleslaw is somewhere between vinegar & a creamy style - Not really either, but probably a fair middle-of-the-road rendition for those that prefer either concoction. The mustard-style potato salad carried on the "food service for the masses" theme, partially creamy though with enough smaller, tender 'tator chunks to be toothsome. Overall, the take-out experience was a fair BBQ meal deal for a sawbuck. Probably not the type of smokehouse restaurant one would travel across town to visit, but when I am in the mood for a quick 'Que fix I will consider another stop in the future. read more
