(You know what store I'm talking about... starts with an H) Fine, but my personal observation especially based on the visit I made last week is that even though the other market is being hyped up by social media; Lotte is still a better, and more affordable market. Granted, the food court choices at the other location are better, I'd still come to Lotte when I need specific asian ingredients. It seems they're aware that theres more competition and they've not only done renovations to the store but they have a lot more specials now than before. The day we went they even had several people promoting products and giving out samples. I don't recall them ever doing that before and I think that's a great idea to boost sales in items. Their galbitang (beef short rib broth soup) was a little bland, not quite as rich a broth as I'd hope for, but still plenty good. The banchan served with it were hit or miss: the tofu one not so good, the kimchi excellent, the seaweed salad alright. And it's hot: very very hot. It will burn you and possibly melt the table if you spill it! Beware and be warned: you need to let your soup cool a bit before digging in here! Overall, good stuff and while I'd not make a special trip for it, if you're shopping it's a great place to get some lunch or dinner.
