Staff is very friendly. Food is amazing every time I go there. Their sweet BBQ is delicious. I crave it most days. Well done!

Sooo,we were on our way with friends, to Rusty Bucket (two doors down from Dickey's), when we passed by this store, and that was a surprise to our friends who live in Hilliard! So not enough advertising for the Hilliard residents. Let's proceed...we decided to try it! No customers, and one person at a table doing paperwork...manager?? owner??...whatever! Five of us walk in, and there are three people behind the counter. NO ONE...I repeat NO ONE greets us! They jut stand there like startled deer! I'm really big on exceptional customer service...I'll even take mediocre...BUT when you can't even say "HI!"....I have a problem with that! It's not a big place people...greet your customers when you can! Check City BBQ! OK, so what do we order? The menu is on a curved wall about 6-8-10 ft above your head...try making a decision while you walk around the curve. Ridiculous! Hey Management!...Put printed menus at the door! The actual food and eventual service was great!...not City BBQ great, but there's different stuff here...and they did warm up to us when they realized that the guys were really hungry! I love the metal trays that the meal is served on...and I love their chairs! We had pulled pork...a spicy sausage that was sooooo good OMG...and ribs! The ribs! The 1/2 slab is not a City BBQ 1/2 slab...but is more like Smokey Bones 1/3 slab! Great char and taste, though too much fat layers on part of the order...UGH!! The sides were interesting...jalapeno baked beans with a nice kick...nice creamy coleslaw...quite tasty baked potato casserole, which is really mashed potatoes seasoned to taste like a loaded baked potato...nice dense rolls. No fried anything here...not sure why...forgot to ask! We passed on any desserts. Drinks are from a machine...iced tea sweet/unsweet...awesome lemonade if you like it tart, and not that watered down Minute Maid cr*p that everyone serves! The beverage cups are bright yellow "souvenirs' that you are instructed to take home and bring back when next you visit for something or other...she was mumbling! One other thing...for management, this is a BBQ joint! Put Napkins on each table please! Again, check City BBQ! There was only one roll of napkins back where the silverware and condiments are located. I lost count of how many times we left the table during the meal to get more napkins. All told...I would go again for the lemonade...and that heavenly spicy sausage...and also the pulled pork! Fat layers in ribs bother me to no end! I dinged one star for the sub-sub-sub par customer service...and one for the fat layers in the ribs!...I can pick meat off a bone, but I refuse to pick through fat to get meat! read more

Stopped in to try this place today (1:15 on a Saturday). The only meat they had was brisket...no pulled pork, no chicken, etc. The guy behind the counter didn't bother to explain why and was not the least bit apologetic. We walked out, and we will likely not return. read more

Came here for lunch for the first time (my bf has previously been here). I ordered the 1 meat meal and got the brisket (chopped) with the Mac and cheese and potato casserole. The Mac and cheese was very reminiscent of stouffer's and seemed like it had been sitting around for a while. The potato casserole was good but I wouldn't really call it a casserole just because there was a few extra things in there (bacon & peppers I think). The brisket was tasty, mine had a lot of fat but I just cut it off. The lemonade was also very good, sweet and tart. The service wasn't great but there was a slight lunch rush. Overall, not my fav BBQ but it was good and I would go back. read more

This place was so awesome! The baked beans were the best I've had but the chicken was the real winner. So tender and flavorful. I'll be making this a regular stop! read more

Amazing, fast, convenient, and oh such authentic log cabin feel! So lucky we get to have Dickey's!

If you order online expect nothing. If you pay online expect problems.... So ridiculous, I order online and after their system charges my card and confirms my order I received a call from the restaurant telling me they have no pulled pork and would i like to substitute. I declined and requested my card be refunded to which they agreed and apologized. Now had this been the end of the story then no harm no foul..... But Nope! This order was placed on a Wednesday night and on the following Monday when I verified that the charges had not been refunded I called the store. I left a Voicemail with the store and a little later tried the guest services number where I spoke to a lady who verified my information and said she would be in touch with the store.... Guess what!? Its now Wednesday, one week since placing my order and no one has gotten me my money or bothered to call me back! When I just called the store I was told "my system says we already processed the refund" and "it may take 5-10 days".... Its 2021 and they acting like it takes a week to process something... nah it didnt even take that long in the 90's, you're just sucking up petty pennies in interest before you give me whats mine!! I have no idea how the food is, but based on the service I wouldnt trust anything that they offer up!! Pathetic! read more

This a great BBQ! If you like smoked meat, you will love Dickey's. Service is fast, value is good. My only issue is the lack of seating but it doesn't stop us from going there regularly. read more

Really good brisket! It's my favorite. Friendly staff. Easy take out or order ahead online.

Quality of food was on par, quantity was lacking. Hopeful that will improve over time

Saltlick BBQ for the price, pretty comparable to City Barbeque. Staff was very friendly and accommodating

This is our favorite BBQ place in Hilliard. The meat is very good (we always get the pulled pork). The sides are good as well, but it is more southern items. The rolls are good as well. read more

The food was out of this world... love the daily deals. They are priced so much better than City BBQ. Definitely a place of quality meats and service.. keep up the good work guys read more

Went there twice to make sure I tasted most of the menu. Was pumped that a BBQ joint was opening up down the street. The sides feel like you could get them at a grocery store deli. The meats were fair but nothing to get excited about. Sauces were meh. I will say the staff was super polite and nice. I know they are going to hate reading this but you just can't beat City BBQ! read more

The ribs were awful. The mac and cheese was awful... how do you mess up mac and cheese?? I had to brush my teeth after the first bite, I know that's dramatic, but the ribs left the worst taste in my mouth. I hate when one bad restaurant ruins my love for a type of food! read more

Great bbq place! Food was delicious and prices very reasonable. Staff was outstanding, super helpful on what they would recommend, free drink on your first visit, and free ice cream too! Restaurant is well decorated and comfortable. Would definitely recommend! read more

Tried the pulled pork, brisket and ribs. All good but ribs were really nice. Sides were typical of a bbq place. Glad Hilliard has a bbq joint to carry out or dine in. read more

If I could give it a 0 I would. Food & service are terrible. Don't waste your time or money

I would not be giving any stars for this restaurant but are required to give one. I have been there five times in the last two months and they never have chicken or turkey on the menu they are always out. If they are not out of the meat they are out of sides. How can you run a business when you are always out of the items that you advertise. I used to recommend this place often as we live nearby. That ends today. read more

The brisket was very good. The original sauce was good. The jalapeno beans were not fully cooked. The green beans were too salty. The price was too high given the overall quality. Not sure if I will go back. read more

Similar to City BBQ, only has been open 2 days so the wait was pretty long but I'm sure the staff will get the pace down. The meat is chopped or sliced as you order and is cooked overnight for 13 hours! Individual side portions are just the right size. read more

Our hospital features a guest restaurant during the week and I had Dickey's BBQ Pit for the first time. I highly recommend the mashed potatoes and brisket. The brisket is mouth watering and so tender. I can't wait to go to the restaurant to try all the options. read more

Horrible pickup service. Called 2 days in advance on a Friday, prepaid for a pickup on Sunday at 5:30pm. Very nice on phone and said no problem. Sunday rolls around to pickup, waited 20 minutes at pickup window before anyone asked to help us. The order was not ready...finally left at 6:15. 45 minute wait for a prepaid, preplanned, pickup time. Ridiculous! At 615, the manager comes to the window and then says we are out of mac and cheese, that we placed 2 days ago, and then said I can't take it off your bill, here is gift cards for you to make up for not fulfilling your order. YOU WOULD THINK A BUSINESS THAT RELIES ON RETURN GUESTS FOR LONGEVITY WOULD TAKE CARE OF ITS GUESTS. WE WILL NOT RETURN read more

Do yourself a favor, choose starvation and self water boarding as opposed to a visit here. Fattiest brisket in town, horrible price points, concept is a thousand times ripped off, ordering logistics has not been even thought through, and every condiment and place setting was a chore. read more

I'm not from the Columbus area but my cousin catered from you guys for her party. The pulled pork sandwiches are amazing! Next time I'm around I'm definitely going to stop in. Amazing food!! read more

I'm so disappointed. I spent $20 on a drink and the ribs meal with 2 sides. The potato casserole and Mac and cheese were good. But I only got 2 ribs. They were tiny with practically zero meat on them. I'd be stretching it to say I got 3 bites of meat. It was pick up but if I had been in the restaurant I would have gave it back! read more

Won't go back here. Brisket so dry it was inedible. Mushy potato salad. Green beans w/so much pepper were inedible. Can't even do Dickey's okra because no fryer. Unhelpful staff that didn't seem all that pleased to work there. Never again. read more

Food was pretty good but just as good and larger servings at City BBQ. Reason for only two stars was the service - everyone was friendly but it was extremely slow. There were only a couple people in front of me in line but waited forever. A couple and another person behind me gave up and walked out instead of waiting any longer. I believe they have been open for several months so this seems like something they need to work on reading other reviews. read more

Had lunch for first time today at Dickey's in Hilliard. Ordered a brisket (chopped) sandwich, potato salad and slaw. Brisket was tasty but way too salty. I talked to the pit master who told me they use salt in their brisket rub. Even my 12-year old grandson said his brisket which was piled on top of mac and cheese was salty! Slaw was good but potato salad was mushy and needed flavor. Grandson said mac and cheese was ok but not as good as we make at home. Pit master told me potato salad was not made in house but was made to Dickey's specifications. They offer three BBQ sauces which were all very, very good. Lunch was kind of pricey @21+ and I had water to drink. Not sure whether we will return. read more

Visited for the first time last night. The meats were amazing and would rate five stars. Had the brisket and pulled pork. The sides were so so. We had cole slaw, baked beans and the potato salad. I would go again but would carry out. The overall experience is what rated the three stars. There are too many tables for the space and as another review mentioned the sauce area was messy and sticky. The original flavor sauce was empty and the overall self service area was sticky. The table and chairs were not clean (got a stain on my new pants) and the trash bin was overflowing. Definitely some easy fixes for management to make before the reputation is completely soured read more

Dickeys BBQ is DELICIOUS! Managers and staff are very informative and polite. Being able to make online and call ahead orders is amazingly helpful. I just pick it up on the way home and we have an awesome dinner. I recommend them to everyone I know. read more

We were so looking forward to this. The brisket was flavorless but otherwise, okay. The ribs came out of some sort of a bag. They were black, dry, and were not edible. I have never had worse ribs. Sometimes, bad ribs are better than no ribs at all. In this case, we had to throw them away. What a disappointment. What a waste of money. read more

This was the first time we've been to Dickey's. We walked up to the counter and I told the guy behind the counter it was our "FIRST TIME HERE! What would you recommend?" He just looked at me with a bland expression and said, "Do you know what you want???" Unbelievable rudeness and he obviously didn't enjoy his job. I felt very uncomfortable and ordered as fast as I could to get away from the counter. I ordered the brisket and pulled pork to just try it. The meat was lukewarm. The pork had LOTS of globs of fat throughout it and the brisket was very salty and tough. I tried the original barbecue sauce which was cold even though it was in a warmer. The coleslaw had an odd, almost spoiled milk taste and left an awful aftertaste. The roll was good. The cost for the 3 of us to eat lunch was $40 which I would have no problem spending if the food, ambiance and customer service is good but DICKEY'S was absolutely horrendous and we will never go back. I'm definitely not going to recommend this barbecue place to my friends and family! Worst $40 I've ever spent on a meal in the last 10 years. If you want barbecue, CITY BARBECUE is the ONLY place to go!! read more

This is not a review regarding the food, but of the customer service provided. I will never eat here again after the way I was treated. If I spoke to people in the tone "the manager" Amber spoke to me I would not have a job. She was extremely condescending..."well sweetheart" and "sorry sweetheart" are not proper ways to address a paying first time customer. When I asked to speak to the manager she she was the manager and the other way right there too. This was all due to food being left out of the pick up bag, which is a simple mistake that can happen. You don't have to get defensive and rude about it, when the customer just wants what they paid for that was left. Perhaps my idea of customer service is far more advanced for what Dickeys can deliver on a daily basis. Working minutes away, I will make sure my co-workers know this is your level of customer service to ensure we don't use you for catered events in the future. read more

I am only giving this place one star because of how unbelievably rude their staff is here. We have ordered from here a couple times because we really like their food. We've never had any complaints about their food. But as for their service, awful! I work in retail so I am completely understanding as to how busy and stressful things can get sometimes, but there is never any reason to be rude to your customers (unless the customer is being rude cause they're just asking for rude service at that point) but I'm overly understanding and nice. I was ordering from here once and the side dish I was getting was almost out and they didn't have any more in the place and the young guy had dished out about the rest in a very small container and one of the ladies that work there came out and said she can't have it! We have other orders to fill and was persistent saying she can't have it! Mind you, I am standing right there in front of her getting ready to check out. Not once did she make eye contact with me and apologize like I'm sorry we don't have anymore, would you like to choose something else...nothing! I would've kindly said it's no problem but as rude as she was, I was going to cancel the whole thing if they weren't going to give the sides to me. Petty I know, but couldn't believe how she acted towards a customer. But long story short, I will not be going here anymore because of the staff. It's unfortunate because we like their food better than anywhere else, but appreciate the much better service of other places. read more

Not impressed, Many friends have been there, and apparently the food is good. I have been to Dickey's in various locations around OH. Ordered Thanksgiving dinner online on Tuesday Nov. 22nd for pickup on the 23rd. Over 24 hr notice, and paid for. Went to pick up on 23rd. Lots of people in the restaurant. At counter, staff could not find on the computer. I had copy of invoice on phone. They finally found the work ticket which was misplaced, but damage already done. They were sold out of the food we wanted. I was offered a free sandwich ticket, and some time of gift card( I am guessing $5 or $10) Nice gesture I guess, but you screwed up my family Thanksgiving. Not impressed with way management handled this situation. "Well, we can try to put the rest of your order together". I just took refund and left, and tried to piece Thanksgiving together at Krogers. On Facebook they advertise "It is a busy week, let us simplify it for you. Pick up your feast today". Yeah, well, nothing close to simplify. More like lets complicate this issue and screw up your plans. I guess we will go back to City BBQ, catering there has always been consistent. read more
