Very good BBQ and very affordable! We came here for the first time the other night and there was practically nobody in there. This was a good thing because we had a chance to look over the menu and ask the staff about their recommendations. They said that many people get the deal of the day which was $9.99 and included a pulled pork sandwich, two sides, and a large drink. We decided to go with that option and it turned out delicious! The buns that they use are very fresh and warm. They use this machine to get butter on bun as well which added some great flavor! I got coleslaw and cheese on top of my pulled pork sandwich and creamed spinach and mac and cheese for my sides. Creamed spinach was really good although the mac and cheese had a sharp cheddar flavor that I don't particularly like. My partner really liked it though so I gave the rest of mine to him. You will like it if you like a sharper mac and cheese flavor. The pulled pork comes without a sauce on it as they have all of their sauces in heated pots next to the soda machine. The fact that they were warm really makes a difference because there's nothing worse than putting cold sauce on a hot sandwich! They had original, sweet, and spicy sauces to choose from. I mixed the original with the sweet and it was very tasty. You can mix and match however you want to find the best combination of flavors. All in all this was a great experience and a wonderful alternative to the other BBQ chains around Columbus. read more

As I was waiting for my order, one of the employees behind the counter right by the register took off his shoe and lifted it up to eye level, looked in it, then dumped something out onto the floor then put his shoe back on. The staff behind the counter was so extremely rude to us as if our questions were beneath his standards. The checkout wasn't much better as I had to repeat everything I said at least three times because it looked like she just smoked a pound of weed. The 2nd attempt we ordered online and hit the drive though to pick it up. We ended up waiting at least 30 minutes to get our food. When we got home the forgot all of the sauces we ordered. Not really sure how I feel about this place. My first impression was not great. The guy taking the order and making the food was super rude and indifferent. He seemed annoyed that we were even there and it only escalated when we took a minute to look at the menu (we've never been there before). I'd understand if they were busy, but there was no one in line and only one other customer eating there. That said, we got our food and it was really good! And they have free ice cream for dessert which the kids really liked. I just got a super bad stand offish vibe from the guy working the counter. It's not fun going into a place with a friend and our kids to eat and getting the feeling of being unwelcome. The lady ringing me up wasn't much better. Pretty much everything went wrong with our takeout order. 1. They gave us zero BBQ sauce. Serving BBQ food to a group of people with zero sauce is no fun. 2. They didn't give us all of our sides. Didn't receive the coleslaw. 3. Our credit card was double charged 4. The portions are incredibly small. Family pack is at best for 2 people. 5. It wasn't very good. I ordered through Grubhub so that I didn't have to drop my trailer and drive the semi down there. Order was delivered quickly. I ordered the rib plate with 2 sides. Expensive for the small size of the order. Ribs were bland and a little dry. The sauce was good. The coleslaw was meh bland and very small. The Ceasars salad was good, but miniscule. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a big eater, I'm only 95 pounds, but even I want a little more than what they served, especially for the price for crying out loud. I also have had BBQ from some of the best establishments in Texas in my travels and I am from Tennessee so I do Memphis in May and sample some amazing smoked meats so I know what I am talking about when it comes to BBQ and this aint it. Just ONCE I would like to come here and they NOT be out of half the menu. Every time I've come after 5pm they're out of Turkey. EVERY TIME they are out of turkey. 4 is for the Pulled Pork and Brisket. I didn't notice the bad customer service as mentioned by other Yelpers. The crew treated my family and I very well and respectfully. Food were awesome, pricing is reasonable than its famous counterpart C*#~ BBQ. But forget the Rolls...not worth the mention. Spicy BBQ sauce was AWESOME!!!!! First AND last time visiting this establishment. Wasn't impressed with any employees at the front counter except the little cashier girl, she was very nice. The guy cutting the BBQ was rude and overall looked irritated to be even taking my order. The girl getting my sides gave me cold BBQ beans and the Mac n Cheese had burnt pieces in it. Our votes were split on this location. I very much liked the brisket I had, and the mac & cheese was also very good. My wife really didn't like the baked beans. She prefers one of the competitors' baked beans much better she said. She enjoyed her brisket nonetheless. I'd say it's a typical BBQ joint. You step up to the counter and get what you want. You pay for your food and drinks, and then you find your seats (unless you're doing a take-out or your buddies can secure a table while you're getting your food). Just got back from lunch, at Dickey's in Hilliard. First time I'd visited this location. The food is always good, no doubt - I will not argue that - but I'm a big fan of good customer service (who isn't?) and this just missed the mark. The space is small, and this was lunchtime, on a Friday, so there were approx 20 guest or so? It was difficult to navigate around the tables to get a seat. As I walked in, I assumed I was to wind around and give my order to the young lady at the register - because there's no signage indicating otherwise. However, the gentleman handling the meat asked for my order. I said "Hi, how are you today?" He looked annoyed and asked me for my order. Ohkaaaaayyyyy. I ordered the lunch special and chose my sides. The gentleman who had previously portioned my meat, was replaced by another young man, so he walked away, eating meat out of his gloved hands. I sure hope that wasn't the case BEFORE he portioned my meat. I wound around to the cashier; she was fine. I turned around to get to the table and had to make like an obstacle course to get to my seat. The tables are either too large for the space or there are too many. It cracks me up that all these restaurants don't understand that in central Ohio, booths are what the people want, for the love of god! Anyway, the windows could use a tinted film; it was crazy bright in there, and the music was pretty loud. The condiment station is in a terrible place and it created a bottleneck, while we were all vying for items. Again, the food was great but they seemed pretty unfazed by a lunch rush. Stopped in on a Thursday night around 6:30, it wasn't busy at all (1 car in the drive thru, 2 tables occupied and one left before we finished ordering). The place is super small and tables are very cramped- we needed a high chair and there as not a good place to sit that wouldn't be directly in the walking path of other guests. Thankfully only a couple other tables came in while we were there. Service was prompt, food looked appetizing and was fine. Nothing spectacular- the bun for my pork sandwich was nicely buttered and toasted but otherwise nothing exciting. I was disappointed with the messy state around the napkins and sauce- it obviously had not been cleaned or refilled in several hours. One of the sauces was empty. The sweet tea was empty and my husband told the workers when he went to fill his cup; by the time we left, they were just starting to refill it. this is not real bbq, i'm from the south and lived in texas 10 years, so i've been around great bbq. first of all you can't have real smoked bbq if you're not cooking with wood. the so called smoker is right behind the counter. there's no smoke ring on their meat, so that's more evidence that you are not meat as you claim. brisket is dry, anybody can make a brisket black by using cracked pepper. ribs are only tender because you wrap them in shink wrap and sweat them to tenderness in a warmer. prices are ridiculous $13.99 for a pound of sausage, come on!! smoked turkey will give you high blood pressure with all the salt. people take the time to go to downtown old hilliard on main street. you will get real tx bbq, you can see them out back using real wood on the smoker you will not be disappointed at legacy smokehouse downtown hilliard. best bbq in central ohio, price a very reasonable. they offer the same as dickies but 100% better. oh yeah dickies i gave y'all 2 stars for the customer service, other than that y'all really suck... recommended y'all close the doors until ya'll can figure out what bbq is from texas to ohio!!! read more

One thing that I always looked forward to was the free soft serve ice cream that was in the dining room of every single Dickey's I have been to - anywhere. Not this one! Was told this was a "new model." Well, this model sucks cuz there is no free ice cream and their menu is much more limited than other Dickeys. No fryers=no fried okra. Holy cow this visit was rough. I was craving BBQ sauce basically for quite a while, and the fiancé finally caved in since we didn't know what to do and didn't want to drive too far. We had actually tried going here about a week ago, but the line was basically to the door so we went next door instead. Well, on this fine night, there were only three other people in line so I was excited to finally get my BBQ fix. We waited in line, and while there were three people in front of us, I feel like we waited at least fifteen minutes. The service was insanely slow, and even after we ordered it was probably five minutes until we got the food and paid. It was pretty rough. We got our food, sat down, and went to get our condiments. Fiancé ordered a drink, and at this restaurant they have one of those Coca Cola machines, but basically every drink except for Diet/Zero/Light were sold out. We don't drink diet soda so this was kind of annoying - not a single non-diet option was available. Unsweetened tea was out, but there was no sweet tea. Disappointing. I have come to love pickles, but when I went to grab some the pickle container was empty. I told the guy at the cash register, and they came to refill it. Well, the guy dumped the pickles on top of the pickle tongs, so I awkwardly had to reach in the pickle juice and under like two pickles to be able to get the tongs scoop any out (I took like 90% of the pickles anyway, he only put a handful in). So awkward for whoever had to come after me. They were also out of forks which made eating our Mac and cheese kind of weird. Fiancé thought the cheese on the Mac and cheese was weird. We have eaten at 4 or 5 Dickie's stores. The Dickie's service model lends itself to being sloooow. Even having been to other Dickie's, we found this one difficult to negotiate. The order here sign is hard to find among all the other decor and signage, and the counter is high enough at the starting point that it doesn't look like you should start there. The menu board is positioned high and wraps around the corner so you have walk part way down the line to read it then come back to order. They have no fryer so some of Dickie's best sides aren't on the menu at the Britton Parkway location. No fries, onion straws or fried okra. We like their flavors, but slow service, limited menu, and poorly trimmed (too much fat) will keep us away. read more

This place is really good! A nice change of pace from City BBQ. I switched things up and got the jalapeño cheddar kielbasa and it was amazing! Trust me, get it. I got the 2 meat plate, comes with 2 sides and a drink and I had some leftovers but it's nice to be able to try two different meats. It's a little on the expensive side but it's worth it. I had the brisket and jalapeño cheddar kielbasa. The kielbasa was excellent - cheesy with right amount of kick. Brisket is seasoned real well, almost doesn't need BBQ sauce. Coke Freestyle machine here is a nice touch. Mac and cheese is creamy, and their Asiago Creamed Spinach was a nice surprise. Sandwich sizes come stacked with a meat (or two) of your choice. I used to eat at Dickey's when I lived in Texas and the ribs were always, always the bomb. This location in Hillard, Ohio is horrible. I have ordered several times from here and have always gotten the ribs. They taste like they were cooked several days ago and warmed over. Won't order from here again. If it was not for the staff and how this place is managed... I'd be giving more stars. I seriously believe that every time I've been in there the workers are young boys who are high. No joke. I leave feeling dirty and wondering if I'm going to get food poisoning because nothing seems sanitary. The sauce area is always disgusting. Very first time in there and they forgot sides. Second time they didn't have cups stocked and they didn't know where they were? Took the kid 10 minutes to find some??? Surprisingly, I have no complaints on the food. It's always been good. It was okay. That's really the best I can give it. The food was perfectly acceptable. The service was slow and there was a person there that was obviously very new. She didn't know where anything was. I ordered the mac and cheese and they had to get more from the back. They come out with a vacu-sealed bag, slice jt open and dump it into the serving tray. Not too inspiring. The brisket sandwich was pretty good. The mac and cheese tasted like the really nice kind of kraft mac and cheese that comes with the cheese paste, not the powder. I had the baked potato casserole, which seemed to be mashed potatoes with bacon and some other things mixed. We just had dinner tonight...the brisket was good, my husband said all he tasted was salt tho. We both were sorta dissatisfied with the lack of smoke flavor. OG bbq sauce was really good, the sweet was very similar to sweet baby Ray's and the hot tasted like OG with a bottle of hot sauce dumped in it. Ribs were tender and good but pork was sorta dry. Mac and cheese tasted like the frozen kind at the store. Mashed potatoes and green beans were good, salty but I like salt They were out of Turkey and chicken, we went an hour and half before they closed at 9 on a Friday night. Staff was lackluster in the friendliness department but they weren't rude and did answer all of our questions. Did not like how there were unisex bathrooms and urine all over the seat. Don't order for a gathering or a party from here. They completely lied on their portion sizes. We ordered for "16 people" and their portion sizes are for little kids sizes. Very expensive for very little food. And they got the order completely wrong - gave us other people's foods and gave 12 rolls instead of 16. Entrees are delicious! The brisket and the pulled pork are really good. Each had a well seasoned bark and a nice hardwood smoked flavor. Brioche bun and yeast rolls were tasty. The mac n cheese is ordinary and the creamed spinach was average though a decent choice with the asiago flavor. Sauces support the smoked flavor. Nice atmosphere for a corner joint. Went to try Dickeys for the first time today based on reviews about how good their BBQ is. Prepaid several hrs in advance online, yet I still had to wait for over 45 min to get my order (which wasn't that large) - the pulled pork and MAC n cheese were sold out - which encompassed most of our order (and honestly all me and my mother in law wanted). I will say the staff was super nice but so disappointed they weren't prepared for all the orders today. It was me and several others who had to wait for prepaid online orders. I got a gift card for the trouble but the food honestly wasn't that great and I would have rather been refunded. I'll be taking our business elsewhere next time. I wanted to like it but this was the worst experience. Missed time during the super bowl waiting to get mediocre food. read more
