The Columbus area definitely needs more places like Legacy Smokehouse. We've passed this place likely hundreds of times, but never stopped in to dine until recently. And I am so glad we did! The service was great, but the food was even better. Being first time patrons, the sampler was recommended for us to try. It consisted of pulled pork, smoked sausage, brisket, and the self proclaimed 'best smoked turkey' in Columbus. I can neither confirm nor deny that claim, even though it was really good. My only negatives are not even really negatives, but they were out of ribs, both the beef and pork. That's really why we decided to visit in the first place, so that was a bummer. Second, after ordering, the food came out very fast, almost too fast because the food wasn't as hot as it could've been, which I feel effected the flavor some. But again, minor issues. Overall, Legacy Smokehouse is an excellent choice for BBQ. We will definitely be visiting again, and I recommend you give them a try as well.

Tried the chopped chicken on this visit and it was really good. Mixed the vinegar and mustard sauce, perfection! The mac and cheese also had good flavor and the food is always ready quickly.

Legacy is such a vibe, Great bourbon drinks, seating, and a rooftop patio! The food is separate from the bar area, it's on the first floor. The bar has a great selection of bourbons. If you're not a bourbon drinker, prolly not the place for you, they have a few beers but not alot of other options. The service is great and food came out quick. Would love to go back again!

They have pretty good BBQ! At first I wasn't sure what sauce is good for me and later after forced myself to try all the sauce (usually I will never try anything lol) I found out that I like OG&mustard mix together! The meat and the sauce together were very yummy! I always eat bbq with fork and knife and the meat was very soft and fell easily. I wish my meat was warmer and juicer. They also have bourbon bar on the second floor, so cool! Would be a place I think of for the bbq next time!

We went to legacy for drinks and apps on a Friday night. The bourbon bar upstairs was awesome! They had so many things to choose from. The mac and cheese was so Smokey too! Loved it all! The lemonade vodka slush is was also yummy too!! Would love to come back to try more food.

Great local BBQ and amazing bourbon bar upstairs. The BBQ is out of this world and the bourbon bar has quite a selection. Some you will not ding any more in Ohio. Very dedicated staff and exceptional pit boss who takes great care in his craft. Nice indoor seating, patio, and a rooftop patio. Stop in...you will not be disappointed.

Had a craving for bbq yesterday so we decided to try Legacy and I'm SO glad we did! The pulled pork was amazing and the brisket was very tender...and I'm still thinking about the street corn side! Yum! Great food and awesome service with a smile!

The restaurant was very clean, and the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. They even allowed me to sample a few items before ordering, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, I arrived just before 5 PM and they were already out of ribs, which was disappointing. I ordered the brisket, pulled pork tacos, street corn, and coleslaw. The brisket was very tender and moist, but I felt it could have used a little more seasoning. The pulled pork tacos had excellent texture and were enjoyable to eat, but the flavor was mild enough that, if I'd closed my eyes, I'm not sure I would have identified it as pulled pork. The coleslaw was also a bit lackluster for my taste and could have benefited from more seasoning. The standout side for me was the smoked street corn, which was flavorful and easily one my favorite parts of the meal. Overall, the service and cleanliness were excellent, and the food quality was solid. I just personally prefer a bolder, more seasoned barbecue flavor profile.

The local group also were very excited to be getting their food, so sounds like definitely a winner to those in the know. I opted for the 2 meat and 2 side lunch. I went with the pulled pork and smoked turkey with regular bbq sauce plus collard greens and potato salad. The pork and the turkey were both rock solid. Not necessarily a ton of smoky flavor from either, but both were tender, juicy, and delicious. Unfortunately, the collards were not to my liking. I hail from western NY and I can count on one hand how many times I've had them before and only once from a true southern/soul food joint. In this instance, I found them slightly bitter with the stems still quite crunchy and the juices on the less than pleasant side. I very rarely don't finish food and I couldn't do it. However, my coworker who also got the collards said they were fantastic, so I guess it's a preference thing. The potato salad honestly wasn't my favorite either. It had like almost an acidity to it that was different and slightly interesting, but almost a little overpowering for what I normally find to be a pretty low key side (for mayo-based potato salads, anyways). This one I did finish despite it not being my all-time favorite. Overall, a pretty solid experience, especially in the meat department. Maybe I just had bad luck with the sides and need to try others next time, but that part is holding me back from this being a really solid culinary experience.

There was a recent change in ownership. The new owners are still getting their feet on the ground,…read morebut for us the service change has been excellent. I go semi-regularly with my daughter and they always treat her like a queen. Just recently, we had a meal on Halloween and one of the staff brought out a free brownie for my daughter just to celebrate the holiday. The restaurant was already providing a free meal for Halloween, so more was completely unnecessary, but also appreciated and brought a lot of joy. The new owners have had nothing but trouble with the soda machine. When they bought in, there was one of those fancy touch-screen machines where you pick from a million flavors you don't want. It broke, so they replaced it with a traditional soda machine. That one broke and it has been broken for a while. I was told on Halloween that it is finally fixed and now they are just restocking supplies for the machine, so it should be ready to go soon. The vibe of the place has moved from kind of corporate-standard "this is Texas" decor, to more of a country biker bar vibe. There are a lot of personal touches that I really enjoy including some interesting toys scattered around the place and a station where you order your food where you can play sudoku or do a word find while you wait for the server to take your order. There are some rough edges to smooth out yet. On our last visit, there was no plasticware available at the drink station, so I had to go and ask for it. The soda-machine, as mentioned, was still broken, but that is on the mend. I didn't really talk about the food. Seems like some reviewers have had trouble in that area, but I haven't. I don't exactly exercise the whole menu, but my westerner combo with brisket and jalapeno sausage is always delicious and the portion is plentiful. I like several of the sides including the baked beans, potato casserole, and green beans. There are several sauces to choose from and I like the regular well enough. Sometimes I mix it with the spicy for a bit more kick. Many BBQ restaurants can't maintain reasonable meat quality when there isn't enough volume to support it, but I think Dickey's has that mostly figured out. It isn't going to beat the best restaurants in the country, but it is going to provide a decent, consistent product that is worthy of your business and definitely holds up to other places in the area.

Listen. This was a struggle in several ways. But worth it…read more I kept hearing great things about this, and I had some free time on a Wednesday, which is dollar wing day. Random lane closures on Broad made it a pain to get there. It is surrounded by rundown strip malls, and the access and parking are pretty bumpy. It's hard to get in: there are locked doors with buzzers, and it is not real clear which door you should use. There is a pickup door, very clearly marked, but the regular entrance is just a little portico, the entrance to the vets, so press one of the buzzers. Inside, it's a standard veterans hall. Dark, bar the main attraction, with tables, pool tables too, quiet in the afternoon. The wings part was pretty busy, with dine in and carry out customers. And I knew that, and I knew wings take a while, so I was prepared to wait. Service was excellent, friendly, helpful, from several people during my stay. And the food was excellent. I was going to get onion rings, but they said on Wednesdays they don't have room in the fryer for those. I was a little disappointed because I figured they probably have great onion rings. Oh well. So I got the pretzel bites. A fairly small order for seven dollars, but the best pretzel bites I've ever had, I think because they were deep-fried. (They're smaller than onion rings.) Hot and crispy on the outside, tender inside, with a good honey mustard sauce. You can also get ranch I think. And since wings were a dollar I wanted to get a bunch but I wasn't super hungry, so I got six. Regular wings, with the Alabama white sauce. Perfectly cooked, big, meaty, juicy wings, crispy on the outside, covered with sauce but not smothered. The sauce was a little smooth and creamy with a little heat from the horseradish, call it medium. Very good. Went well with the wings. The wings even plain would've been excellent. And they have dozens of sauces, a bunch of which I would like to try. Check their Facebook to make sure they're open. The last few months they have had some issues, which seem to be sorted out mostly. Allow yourself some time. Come on Wednesday and get as many wings as you can eat. Mm-mm.

She gave us the low down on the place and all the unique sauces they have. All made in house. Great info. Great service. The wings are a nice size. Comparable to Roosters and that's sayin something because Roosters wings are bigger than any I've ever had. We got fries and onion rings to start. Both yummy. Another patio told is to get the wizard sauce. Apparently it's a wing sauce but he said it's best on the sides. It was delicious on the onion rings. The sauce list is very unique and very diverse. I went with a classic, garlic parm. It was good. I've always wanted to try Alabama White. It was very tasty. If you like the horseradish flavor. Our friend got the scorpion wings and the kit him on fire. He got sample taster of the hottest one that's not even on the menu. It was Major Pain. He said he tasted awful but wow was it hot lol. It was super thick like a tomato paste. Other friend got honey smacks. It was pretty good. Not super hot but had a tingle for sure. The mean mug was pretty tasty. My husband got the hot honey and said it wasn't really very hot. Asian sticky. That one was good. Not hot. The ranch was weird. Pretty sure it was a dill dip lol. Tastes and looks like the dill dip I make for veggies. We would definitely go back. Only reason I did 3 starts was cuz my husband didn't find a sauce he likes so we will just have to try more next time!

He promised that the food would be delicious and in describing each item, he set the bar quite high for me! Driving home was torture as the aromas of the food were so tempting. But then when we finally dug into the meal, we were blown away. Everything we ordered was great; the palak paneer, the Pakistani whole chicken (great deal and takes 45 minutes to make), the baba ghanoush. I would highlight the daal lentil which was freshly made and a bit spicy and full of flavor which we loved. The naan is generous in serving and airy. And for me the best thing was the lamb tagine. I had an awesome tagine years ago in France at a Moroccan restaurant that was so tender, the meat just melted in my mouth. This dish came close to that memory, with a generous serving of dates covered in sesame, complementing the flavor of the lamb. It will be hard for me not to get this dish every time. I cannot recommend this restaurant more. This has been one of the best meals I've had here in Columbus in the last few months. Between the friendly staff and the excellent food, it is definitely worth a try.
