I was told about Big Daddy' Que by a parent at a basketball game. She talked it up so much that I decided to visit. She was right. This is not a sit-in place, though in warm weather there picnic tables outside. The menu offers a classic soul food selection, from macaroni and cheese to brisket to pork chops to greens and ribs- tips, bones and slabs. The service is excellent and efficient and the food is fabulous! This is not a large place; I passed it about 4 times before seeing it, so it's best if you're trying to find it for the first time to have someone with you who can be the lookout person! Always looking for new (to me) soul food places, this one goes on the list. There is parking on the side of the place but not an exorbitant amount so be mindful of that, and it's only open Thursday through Sunday, with afternoon-evening hours. It's on Main Street in Reynoldsburg, across the street from Kroner. Happy eating!

I'm torn with this review because customer service was outstanding the interior seemed spotless and they were expedient with getting my order BUT: their bbq meats are tough. They are not fall off the bone or tender. Everybody in my house tried the ribs and all had the same conclusion that they were tough and chewy. On the other hand it has a great smoked flavor, well seasoned, and their "signature sauce" is very good. I ordered a three rib plate and they gave me 3.5 or maybe 4 ribs which was a plus. The Mac and cheese is an absolute joke. It's just yellow colored macaroni noodles with salt and pepper. Very little cheese or flavor and lacking major soul. If yall don't want to make a respectable Mac and cheese then take it off the menu. Parking is odd and traffic is EXTREMELY bad on this stretch of Main Street. It's a million gahdamn cars on the road all hours of the day and good luck trying to make a left out of their parking lot to get back towards the freeway. I'll give em another go because I'm curious about their brisket but I don't know when because this area is not my stomping grounds. If you're in the area then give em a go I guess

Great staff everyone is nice and friendly the food is always fresh and the restaurant is always clean.

Fish was not whiting it was Swai or Tilapia

The fish were horrible. It tasted like Swai or Tilapia which I don't like. Supposed to be whiting. I know the difference. So sad. Tahitian treat in can probably good haven't drank yet. Last week I got a slab of ribs and greens and sweet potatoes. Ribs were good after I put in oven with sauce but sides were horrible! So disappointed.

I'm not going to completely bash, because for one this place is hip, no question. This place is clean, the restrooms were very clean, and that is something unfortunately some establishments struggle with. The service was great, very friendly and very prompt. What got me is the prices set for these little sliders. Ouch! I'm not going to place the prices on here but c'mon, give us some slack on the price gouging. This is a huge deterrent for me, snd almost makes the food taste a certain way, even knowing it may me a 2 star Michelin chef in the back grill. Again the price is what threw me for a negative loop, was it bad, no. Was this overpriced like most bar n grills, well absolutely it is! Can we go back to the red plastic cup prices that we grew up with back in the day. Sorry, I'm being nostalgic.

Went were sitting near the entrance but all 4 bar tenders were only serving the opposite end of the bar. Another couple that sat before us hadn't had any service yet either. Not even a greeting. 25 min was my limit. I'm fine waiting for good food and drinks but I like to be acknowledged. The live-ish music was decent, hence the one star.

Sadly, this visit was a huge letdown -- especially after spending over $100. The good: Our bartender, Karen, was amazing -- super attentive and made sure our drinks stayed full. The dumplings were the highlight of the night. Easy 10/10. The cocktails were solid, too. The bad: * We ordered three mac & cheeses -- all were dry and lacking flavor. * The broccoli was oversized, bland, and nearly inedible -- more like giant chunks than something appetizing. 1/10. * When I brought it up, Karen explained that's how it's always served, but no offer of a substitute or fix was made. * The famous blackened sauce tasted off -- a 4/10 at best. * The salmon was under-seasoned and came in two tiny pieces -- another 4/10. * And the catfish? Seasoned well, but completely undercooked -- pink on the inside. Totally unacceptable. -1/10. I get that every spot has an off day, but this meal was far below the standard I've come to love here. Outside of the dumplings and drinks, we left feeling disappointed and let down. I hope this was just a one-time slip because I've always enjoyed SC -- but tonight missed the mark by a mile.

I went with 5 Bourbon Barrel wings and 5 Spicy Garlic, both bone-in. The Bourbon Barrel wings leaned sweet with a light bourbon note. Flavor was decent, but they were pretty light on sauce and didn't have much crisp for being fried -- honestly, they almost tasted baked. The wings also weren't very tender, and I had to work a bit to get the meat off the bone. And yes, I know some people would say "just get boneless," but I'm a bone-in guy -- the bone adds flavor, and boneless wings are usually more breading than chicken anyway. The Spicy Garlic had a nice kick and solid flavor, but unfortunately had the same texture issues as the Bourbon Barrel wings -- not crispy and not very tender. I also ordered blue cheese and celery. It was fine, but nothing special. The blue cheese flavor was pretty muted and didn't have that bold, tangy punch I usually look for. On the plus side, the steak fries were cooked correctly and did their job. One highlight was their Mardi Gras menu. We tried the beignets with bourbon maple glaze, and those were a pleasant surprise. They came out piping hot, dusted with powdered sugar, and while they're not a traditional beignet, the flavor was really good and easily the most memorable part of the meal. So was the experience great? I'd say it was good. The food was fine, serviceable, but not especially memorable. Would I come back? Probably -- just maybe not for the wings next time. But, let me add. We had Jordan as our server and he was a great server. He did an outstanding job!

I did notice a couple of things, and I don't know if this is a trend or a 1-off. The blue cheese sauce was super thin, the wing sauce was also thin and would not stick/coat the wings, and the draft beer menu seems MUCH smaller that I remember. All FWIW.
