The brisket was cooked perfectly with still having a nice soft bark and amazing flavor. Service was amazing as the cashier was playful and having fun. Someone who truly enjoys talking with people and watch them struggle with all the great food options. Most City BBQ locations look similar however they stay true to the city they are located in. They go for the steel and wood look. Some locations have the smokers on the side and you can see and smell all the meat cooking. Most have local school team helmets and sport props. I've been a customer here for years and hadn't been in in a while. The food is always superb whether it be the main entrées or the sides. Stopped in tonight to get dinner and was really surprised at the scant portions, most notably, the ribs. As with all things, the prices increased unbelievably were five ribs, one side and a glass of water costing over $18. However, the ribs were so small. I love City Barbecue, let me tell you I am being dead serious when I say they have the best potato salad anywhere, it's SO GOOD! The pork and brisket were so nice and tender and had so much flavor. I'm a fan of the bushfire bbq sauce, it has a good kick to it. The banana pudding was so tasty! I came with a friend and she got the same thing and she was also raving about it. This is such a cool building with lots of history. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. My favorite is the 'bama chicken, but also can't go wrong with pulled pork with sweet bbq sauce, topped with cole slaw. Stopped by City BBQ for lunch. Unfortunately, didn't see a lunch menu so I went with a combo pulled pork and bbq chicken, cole slaw and potato salad. The pulled pork was moist and tasted ok. The bbq chicken was dry and really lacked taste. I had to pour bbq sauce on it to eat it. Potato salad, cole slaw, and toast were good. Went to City BBQ today for some brisket because I've had some co-workers rave about how good it is. I had no idea what to expect but this was the best lunch ever. First off it was a super friendly and inviting place from the minute I walked in. The General Manager Kevin suggested I also try the turkey (you have to have both...he was right...wow). City always has quality food but this meal was even better. Pricing was great for a large meal and would definitely order here again for my other projects.
