Amazing customer service here tonight. Naomi is a complete sweetheart ! I believe the guy working with her tonight, i think his name tags said "True". They cut the meat down exactly how I wanted it. My dad has a trach and she asked for specifics on how they needed to cut it down which makes a huge difference and was awesome of her. I came in looking for the old combo they had where you could get a BOGO sandwich on Monday's. Since they no longer do that, she apologized and gave me a drink to compensate for that. VERY AWESOME OF HER and wasn't expected at all. I got the fruit punch and it was perfect. The meat was moist and very good, the sauce was hot. Thank you guys again for a great experience ! I was having a pretty difficult day and just that interaction really made me enjoy my visit even more. You never know how someone's day is going but one simple convo, kind gesture or just the tone of how someone speaks to you can really make a person say "damn, that put me in a better mood". Honestly, I don't see how this place is open. This place needs a deep cleaning starting with the entrance. The food is not good at all. Ribs and brisket is not supposed to be in plastic bags, and then prepared as if the meats were smoked. I'm not sure if the meats are boiled or steamed, but I do know there's no grill involved. read more

This Dickey's doesn't keep their advertised hours. Ads say close at 9, but on 3 occasions I've stopped here and they were closed at 7:40-7:50. They can close whenever they want, but they shouldn't advertise that they stay open later than they do. Wasted trip on 3 occasions. Will start going elsewhere. read more

I go to Dickeys every Wednesday for the Westerner special. A hoagie roll piled with pulled pork, then layered with sausage (ask for the jalapeño cheese), accompanied by dress yourself cheese and onions. I get the potato casserole with bacon bits, chives, shredded cheddar, and sour cream, and the green beans. It is a ton of food with a big big drink for under $10. The food is good, not great, but very good. Sometimes it's about more than the food though is why this is a 5-star joint. Like I said, I go weekly. They remember me and know how I like my food. No pickles and an extra slice of cheese. They always have a smile (and a free vanilla ice cream cone) that makes me feel like this is a place that really gives a crap about how folks perceive their business. This week I missed my Wednesday trip to Dickeys and on Friday decided, "damn the cost I want my westerner!" They knew I had not been in that week and gave it to me as the daily special anyway. I will be a loyal Dickies customer for some time to come. read more

Food was about average for a decent barbecue restaurant. Cleanliness was very poor front door was nasty. Went on a Sunday afternoon neither employee wore gloves and to top it all off the Lady behind the register counted change and then reached into the bag of frozen french fries and pulled out a handful and put them in the fryer. This is our favorite BBQ joint. My favorite is the turkey, but the brisket is also wonderful. My favorite sides are the Mac and cheese and baked potato casserole. The potato salad is really yummy too! The service here is phenomenal and the restaurant is always kept clean, which is always good. I think the free ice cream is a nice way to top off a good meal. I've eaten there 1 time a couple of months ago and it was delicious! I wanted to go again for a take out and standing in line I noticed they had a heavy weight boxing match playing on the Wall TV. I got so grossed out by these men bloodying up each other's face, I had to leave before I could give my order. I'm not a wimp, but these guys were barbaric, I guess at the end of the match that should've been stopped waaay sooner. Very unprofessional and unsanitary. Came in to pick up an order. As my order was being prepared, I noticed that some food that was in a bag on the floor and one of the cooks grabbed the bag and placed it on the counter. I asked if that was my order. The attendant stated, "yes." I responded, stating that I could not accept food prepared from the floor. The attendant then stated, "would you like another bag." I responded stating that I could not accept any food that was placed in a bag from the floor. She stated that I ordered that last rack of ribs and that there were no more left. My wife, Monica, and I have been searching for a decent BBQ place. We come to Jackson at least once a month and usually eat lunch or dinner while we are here. We decided to try Dickey's. We almost missed it because it is fairly small. It is a franchise BBQ shop and seems cramped. A few small tables were inside. I would guess about 5 or 6. When we got there it was about 5:30 or 6:00 and we noticed that it wasn't filling up. That's when we began to think we had made a mistake. However the later it got the more people were filing in, especially the telephone orders. The steady stream of people and the constant ringing of the telephone let us know we had made a good choice. We got the combo plate, ribs and sliced brisket with beans. They were great! We now have a bbq place that can scratch that itch whenever it comes around. read more

This place has really good barbecue. I had a pulled pork sandwich. It was great! I tried the sweet and original sauces. They were both good. I preferred the original. They had a good variety of side choices, also. The okra was really good! Plus they had free ice cream cones. The staff was really nice! The manager brought me out a to go box, and asked if we needed anything else several times. The only thing is this place is a little pricey. We paid almost $30 for two plates, but the quality of the food was excellent! The restaurant itself is rather small. It was very cramped in the restaurant. Tried to call in advance and the phone was off the hook so I went in to order take out for dinner around 5:30. There were 3 employees working and no customers at the time. Let me preface this review by saying upfront that the BBQ ribs were VERY good. I would definitely look forward to having a 1/2 rack in front of me SOON. The downsides of the lunchtime experience at the Flowood location were: the VERY SMALL seating area which filled quickly, the ORDERING process which was convoluted and confusing (had to speak to 3 different people before the order was placed in my hands), the drink machine area being located right where you get your order thus leading to a customer pileup there. I DID like their BBQ beans but give a full thumbs down on the potato salad. Would definitely select the cole slaw instead on my next trip. The free ice cream machine is impressive: densely frozen dairy dessert which is perfect for cone or bowl. P.S. Friends tell me the Madison location is much roomier. read more

Latest issue was not being able to call, ordered online went to pickup and they tell me the online ordering system is not working even thought there was no indication on the website. I went with my family on June 19, 2017. The people working in the restaurant seemed irritated that they had to wait on customers. No one smiled. They answered questions with short one-word answers and seemed even more irritated when we asked for fried okra and French fries (which they have to fry once it is ordered). I am a Memphis native, so I am a bit of a BBQ snob. So, when I say that Dickeys almooooost makes me feel like I am at home again, it is saying A LOT. My advice would be to order from, the daily special--it is definitely the best deal and more affordable than most of the regular menu items. The special usually comes with 2 sides and a big ole drink that will last for hours. My favorite is their BBQ sauce--they have 3 self-serve sauces which include Original, Sweet, and Spicy. The Sweet sauce is my favorite and I smother it on EVERYTHING (especially on their creamy mac and cheese). Their meats, of course, are my next favorite. I especially like the brisket and the sausage. I would give it 5 stars but the staff isn't as friendly as I would like them to be. On my first time there, the guy in charge of preparing the meats seemed annoyed that we were taking so long to order. I could understand the sense of urgency if there was a long line but we were the only ones in line. Other than that, they are very quick so it is a great place to go if you are wanting something fast. If you dine in, you get a free ice cream cone so make sure to take advantage of that. read more
