I ordered lunch from Dickey's using DoorDash. The DoorDash process was flawless. My complaint is solely about the restaurant: -I did not get what I ordered or paid for. -The fries were super cold When I called to share my frustration, the staff argued with me and never once offered to fix the situation. The staff member said she had no control over the temperature of the fries when they are being delivered. The delivery took less than four minutes, there is no way they should have been cold! When I mentioned that, she continued to argue with me. Not only were the fries super cold, but they had no flavor and lacked any seasoning. This is the second time I've been disappointed, but was trying to give them a second chance. I will never go back! read more

Let me preface myself and say, I have not had BBQ from the Lone Star State, nor from either of the Carolinas. So my only reference is Seattle's own, Home of Good BBQ up on Yesler, a place we frequented in my childhood for 2 reasons. 1)It "was" damn good 2)It "was" damn cheap. Two things bug me about BBQ in the PNW, it's really overall rather "meh" and second it's damn expensive. Yes, I know it takes hours upon hours of "cook'n" time but come on, it's supposed to be the cheap cuts of meat, so why is it so pricey? I digress, onto my review.... Dickey's is a franchise, I don't have any real issues with that, but you might understand my 3 Yelp'n stars, I hope, in the next few paragraphs. First off, the location is in one of the many of 3-5 store stripmalls along 128th St SW, not something I have a real issue with since there was plenty of parking, granted it wasn't all that busy but it just felt a bit to fast-foodie and not a restaurant I wanted to sit and stay. As you enter and get your "red neck" groove on via country music, fake wood panels walls, etc. As you saunter up to the counter you place your order with the "meat" cutter, he's got 1 job, yuuuuuuuup, cut da meat. Next up is the "side" order person, while trying to place my order of 1 kids meal, a rack of ribs and 2 other platters/meals, it was a bit of a mass confusion to get all the sides ordered to match the plates. The plate/platters seem to be best option, you get any type(s) of meat and 1-2 sides, all served up on a prison tray, I mean metal platter, think "country" folks... Drinks come in 2 size, "kids" and "Giant" sizes they are served up in yellow hard plastic drink cups, which really seemed like a huge waste, we ended up taking our's home to use for scooping up dog food. Drinks are refillable via a 6-7 drink fountain, 2-3 vats of ice tea are available, plain or Southern sweet. A hidden gem of the place is the free self-serve vanilla softserve ice milk/cream, it was a nice end of meal treat, and saved us from heading across the street to DQ afterward. Onto the "meat".... we tired beef brisket, pork ribs and chopped pulled pork. In my opinion the chopped pork looked the best. I found the brisket a bit dark in color, salty, and dried out. Pork ribs, as others have mentioned are held in a warmer and wrapped in plastic wrap. I see why the have to do this, I mean, it is very hard to hold bbq'ed meat at a certain temp without drying it out, hence that is my best guess with the dried out brisket. Chopped pork on the other hand is made up fresh to order, a nice piece of pork was pulled out of warmer and wracked to pieces, the Mrs. enjoyed her's, like I said it really looked good, I wasn't offered a taste, ahem... The pork ribs, I assume is the focus of the place, and as I mentioned, are held in plastic wrap, which does 2 things, it keeps the ribs moist and the meat tender, the bad part is, it makes the outer "crust" of the meat, a mess and basically non-plus, and the meat temps a bit above lukewarm, here you will find no rich crispy bbq "bark". I did find the pork ribs decent in flavor, couldn't really see much of a smoke-ring, and firm to the bite, meaning it didn't really fall off the bone, unless you sunk your teeth in and really pulled. BBQ sauces were actually some of my favorite finds in recent years. The "original" was solid, a bit of vinegar and sweetness, a nice spice combo. The Mrs enjoyed the "sweet" version and Grams found the "hot/spicy" to have a nice heat backnote. I liked the fact that the ribs and meat are dry rubbed, bbq'ed/smoked and served naked, you can add as little or as much sauce as you like. I like the fact you can still taste the meat the dry rub was good. Sides weren't high on my list, the number of choices were nice, but I saw the green beans being served up, they were a sad overcooked pale green color, the slaw was rather sweet, and the Baked Potato Casserole looked amaze-balls on the website but in person it was a lame cup of mashed pots with some cheese, bacon and green onion. The amount served in the cup was rather sad too. The servers were nice and all, the ordering process was a mess and hurried, I hate that style, if I'm staring up at the sky/menu board, with my mouth open drooling, please give me a second or two to wipe my face and figure out what's going on. The vibe here is a bit too franchise-y meaning they tried hard to give the place a "country" feel and look. I felt like I was stuck between a NASCAR event and weekend hoedown, and me without my overalls... read more

My wife & I were so excited to try this place out. When we got there, they did not have any ribs. Really? So we decided to order the pulled pork instead. Then, when it was time to order my sides, I ordered their mac & cheese. Guess what? They said they did not have that also. To make the story worse, two minutes later (while I was paying), I heard them say: "Mac & Cheese is ready!" I told the cashier: "Really? You guys couldn't tell me to wait another two minutes for the mac & cheese I wanted? Especially after you did not have the ribs I wanted?" She just said: "Okay, I change your side to mac & cheese.." Throughout this whole experience, not one worker said "sorry about that". Every worker looked like they did not want to be there. Their service sucked. On top of all this, my pulled pork was cold. Finally a truly authentic Texas barbecue place. I got the two meat plate with sausage, brisket, fried okra and beans. It was everything I expected it to be. Even the sweet tea was exactly what you'd get in Texas. The price is a little high but it's way cheaper than a plane ticket to Texas and worth every dollar. For the people complaining about all the grease and fat, go home and grill your own bland chicken breast and leave the true Texas barbecue for us real southern folks. read more

On 06/15/2022 we visited the Dickies location at IH 35E & Swisher, Corinth, Texas The outside temperature was unbearable but the inside was worse, it was much more humid. There were only two other customers inside. We have been eating at this location for several years and have noticed a continuous decline for a few years. Furthermore, the food was subpar and cold. Dickey's is a chain promoting Texas BBQ. And when I think of Texas BBQ, I think of beef, and the brisket at Dickey's is solid. But when I think of Texas, I think of size. And if things are bigger in Texas, then I am disappointed by the miniature sized portions of the big bbq sandwich. Happily, I think there is a solution. If you are going with a friend, order a pound of meat and sides a la carte, and you should be happy. Speaking of sides, do not pass by the waffle cut fires. Sad you don't have the Dickeys pasta salad, your "sweet" tea tastes like it's been sitting brewed for a week and had sugar dumped in the cup upon ordering. NOT how it's done, we ended up throwing both large sweet teas in the trash. We waited over TEN minutes in the drive through with no other cars and no one in the restaurant for one medium fried okra and 2 large sweet teas. They brought us the worst UN-sweetened tea I've ever tasted and when I said sweet they took them back and obviously just added sugar to them. Which is NOT how you make sweet tea! Finally, after craving bbq food for quite some time, the lady and I decided to give this place a visit. She ordered the 2 meat plate of just pulled pork, Cole slaw and Mac. I got the rib plate with jalapeño beans and Mac. The pulled pork was pretty good, a lot better with their sauces. My ribs were alright. Not fall of the bone status but it definitely has potential. I dipped it mostly in the hot n spicy sauce they had. The Mac was good and my beans were pretty boring. I thought they were going to have a bit more kick to them, but it was lacking that aspect of it. I should have just gone with the bbq beans. Cole slaw was typical. Not amazing but not disappointing. Overall this place didn't live up to my personal hype. Maybe I'll try it again at an earlier time and not so late in the day. Maybe that'll make a difference? The cool thing is that the soda cups they hand out are plastic and you can take home with you and reuse! Haha. They also got an ice cream machine if you feel like soft serve. I'm a transplant from Dallas, where we have Dickey's Barbecues pretty much everywhere. I was SO excited to hear that Dickey's had come to Seattle, as there is a very sad lack of decent barbecue up here. My husband and I visited for the first time tonight and I was trying not to get my hopes up, just in case it wasn't as good as back home. But it was JUST like the Dickey's I've enjoyed for years in Texas. Delicious beef brisket, and tasty sides. Fried okra is impossible to find up north and Dickey's has it! You guys seriously made this Texas girl's day! Owner and staff are very friendly, and the establishment was very clean. We enjoyed our complimentary (and obligatory) soft-serve cone and vowed we would be returning very soon (especially to investigate whether or not they have peach cobbler)! read more

I'm little bummed because I usually enjoy Dickies, but this location this visit was not a good experience. I definitely left feeling like I had paid too much for what I got in return. The entire time we were trying to order, all the employees were preoccupied with fulfilling a large family order. It seemed like they weren't really prepared to deal with something like that and serve customers at the same time. They tried to begin our order while still working on the other one, but it became difficult to juggle as they were yelling back and forth and scrambling to find the different parts of that large order. I ordered chicken, and the employee pulled 2 large chicken breasts out and began cutting them. He shouted something down the line and someone shouted back. He then bluntly informed me that this was for the family order and there wasn't enough for me so I had to order something else. No courteous apology for the inconvenience. I tried my luck with the turkey and struck out. It was the last of turkey they had and by the time they finally brought our food out it was cold because it had sat around while the finished the family order. The meat itself was ok, but it really could have been spam for all I know. No real taste or texture to speak of. As we sat down to eat, employees began telling people who came in after us that they were out of most of the meat and only had a couple of items on the menu. Like I said, I like Dickies BBQ and I'm not really that hard to impress. But this time they dropped the ball and it didn't seem like they cared very much. I love good BBQ and this was my first experience at a Dickey's restaurant. Although they seem to be having the expected grand opening challenges, every bite I've had of the brisket, honey ham, ribs, and hot links has been absolutely delicious! The only critique I could share was the limp sogginess of the green beans and the Caesar salad had too much dressing. I've been back already and they've only been open a week or so! My husband is from the south and the one thing I really miss when we leave his family is the good southern BBQ. Even the highly rated BBQ around here is crap compared to real southern BBQ. Until we found Dickey's! This is what BBQ is *supposed* to taste like. We actually visited twice today, and I'm fighting off the urge to hit the leftovers in the fridge. I'm not even close to hungry but... so tempting! We tried many different things: Pulled pork, brisket (omg!), ribs, turkey, ham, coleslaw, potato casserole, bbq beans (yum!), and potato salad (a bit odd.) My husband said the sweet tea is spot on. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. They seemed to be happy to be working there. It was a very pleasant experience all around. The prices are reasonable and we'll be returning often! The only things I found odd were: No cornbread, and no collard greens. Those are sort of staples of BBQ, especially the cornbread. I had a mighty urge for some bbq, and figured it was time to veer from the usual Famous Dave's. I'd wanted to try Dickey's for some time, so we headed on over there. Golly, it was a real bummer. Wife and I each got a rib plate which comes with two sides. The ribs were moist and tender, but fatty. Flavor was fine. It was maybe a three-star plate of meat. The sides, on the other hand, were soul-sucking. Wife got the mac n' cheese and the green beans. The mac n' cheese was close to inedible: it was maybe Velveeta and noodles, and it was cold. The green beans had been killed, and were also not worth consuming, despite the fact that they'd actually cost money. My sides were deep-fried okra and bbq beans. The okra was okay, though it would be neato if they had a veggie side that didn't give one heartburn, such as the steamed broccoli at Dave's. The bbq beans didn't taste like "bbq" until I broke up the complementary onion into it, and poured some bbq sauce into it too. Then they were ok. The complementary roll is nothing special, and might be better if they offered honey or something with it. The butter on top had dried up by the time I was ready to put it in my mouth. Fortunately, diners can make themselves a free vanilla soft-serve kid cone. It wasn't much, but wife and I agreed it was the best part of the $38 meal. read more

Got a coupon in the Valpak(SP) for this place so we decided to try it out. It is BBQ after all. Our bottom line, it's just okay. So here's the break down. I ordered the 3 meat plate: ribs, brisket and cheddar sausage, my wife the one meat plate: chicken. Minus one star for portions. With regards to my plate, two bones (but to be fair, they said it would be only two when I called), a few slices of the sausage and a measly two to three small slices of the brisket. Now I might've been more forgiving if the food was outstanding, but it wasn't...which brings me to the next minus star: taste and quality. First none of our food was hot...warm, barely. Second, with regards to the three meat plate, the ribs and brisket were pretty dry. Good thing I took back some BBQ sauce with me, because it made 'em easier to eat. The sausage, was okay. My wife's chicken, though somewhat moist, was pretty plain, as if they took a chicken breast, cooked it, sliced it and packed it. Hardly seasoned and not worth ordering out for. Some saving graces, though not worth making this place a regular for us, the sides were slightly above par, good mac n cheese, tatter salad needs more tatters, fried okra, good but again, was warm, beans are beans and not bad. As with the main course, portions were small. Another plus, free ice cream. Another minus, but I won't take a star away for this, presentation, the containers they packed our food in had BBQ sauce all on the outside which really looked bad, especially since my wife's chicken didn't have any BBQ sauce in it. My friends have been telling me to go here for awhile. Wow, I love Dickey's! I've been to Famous Dave's, and this place is so much better. The setting here is very fast food - you order up front and serve yourself drinks and condiments. The prices are great - for 5 ribs, 2 pretty large sides, bread and a soda, it came out to around $18 - way more than I could eat. The sides were tasty, and the ribs weren't too dry. They were moister than Famous Dave's, although less meatier. Overall I'd pick this place over any other sit down bbq in the area, since service is lighting fast, food is great and prices are decent. Ordered sandwich plate, Chicken, hot BBQ, Beans, potato mash. Chicken while having grill marks was not properly bbq'd, no mesquite or otherwise flavor. It was sliced thick and slapped on a cheap bun. The "Spicy/hot" sauce was neither by any standard. The beans I'm pretty sure were canned Van De Kamps with liquid smoke added in, If not then they were a very close derivative. The potato side dish, while not terrible happened to be the last thing I tried, and it wasn't anything special, a little under seasoned and over herbed with tyme and/or rosemary. Been here twice since they opened on Halloween. The first time we had pulled pork sandwiches - they were DELICIOUS! The pork was tender and not full of fat and the buttered buns were soft and delicious. We got both spicy and regular BBQ to go on them. On the table tonight was a half-rack of ribs for the kids and Onion Tanglers (which are 10 times better than onion rings). We took home some ham for the husband and I hope there's some left for him when he gets home. It's the best ham I've ever had in my life. It's so tender it falls apart in your hand and is delicious! The rolls are sweet and soft. We haven't had a lot of the different sides but the star of the show is the MEAT! And, you can't beat starting or ending your meal with a free ice cream cone! read more

I order from here at least once every two weeks and today I received an order that I couldn't even take more than two bites of. Never in my life have I seen barbecue this oily and greasy, I don't even know how this would even happen. Just pulling fat off of the brisket I had to use three napkins to dry my hands, and the pulled pork is disgusting to taste. When calling The manager to explain how often I order and how disappointed I was because I've never ever had this quality of food, he could've cared less all he wanted was to get me off the phone and just kept saying refund. I read the reviews and realized it was either going to be awesome or horrible. There didn't seem to be a lot of in between from reviewers here. I decided to go because there were more great reviews than bad ones... but it was a very unfortunate decision. I'm baffled why anyone thinks this is good food. It's like saying Olive Garden is great Italian food, except Olive Garden is much better than this. I got a steak salad that was just very blah and a gross looking roll not worth eating. We got the mashed potato casserole everyone raved about and it was like something that would be served at a nursing home. My husband's ribs were okay, not horrible, but his fries were very underdone. I didn't even like the ice cream. Staff seemed okay, it was clean, plenty of people in there. It's very much like an elementary school lunch tray with bad food, but it cost me $35. For that, I could go to the really good BBQ place at Country Village and have a great meal. Stay away from this one, you can get better food from the Safeway hot foods case, seriously. read more

I don't understand how this place can have four stars... it's a three-star place at best. First of all, it's a chain. Originating in the south, I believe, and you ostensibly get the same stuff wherever you go. Most of their meat tastes the same wherever you go, but the sides can be different (how they don't serve hush puppies is something I will never understand). There is nothing unique about this place to set it apart from any other place. All that said, it's perfectly reasonable. If you're in the mood for some decent barbecue and don't want to pay much for it, this place will help you out. It's reasonably quick, fairly tasty, and not expensive. I find the meats to be a little dry, but that is easily corrected with BBQ sauce. This location only has three sauces, but that should serve most people perfectly fine. Oh - they have a drive-thru. Like others have said here, it's definitely a franchise and you can tell. That being said, I wasn't disappointed and I wasn't overly-excited about it either. We were a little confused as we walked in and ended up at the 'pay here' counter instead of the 'order here' area (we figured it out later that one of the two door options would have led us to the ordering area, but they're pretty tiny signs). Anyways, they have daily $8.99 specials for each day of the week... seems like pretty decent deals, but we didn't partake in the Saturday deal. The ambiance is very cafeteria style since we order in one spot and the employee carves and serves up the meat, then you move down the line to order your sides, then lastly you end up at the register. The service down the line wasn't the best, but it wasn't horrible either. I'll chalk it up to working out the kinks. The FOOD! We always have to check out the brisket at every BBQ joint we go to and so we order 1lb of brisket and a 1 meat plate which comes with a choice of meat (pulled pork), 2 sides (fried okra and coleslaw), 1 dinner roll, and fresh pickles/onions. This brisket wasn't bad, but was a bit more "chopped" up then I usually prefer. It was chopped up into bits like you'd place onto a sandwich. It's the dry brisket as opposed to the fattier briskets you'll find at other BBQ place. The pulled pork was nothing special, a dinner roll is a dinner roll, pickles are pickles, and I don't like raw onions but apparently they were spicy. The SAUCE! They have 3 types - regular, spicy, and sweet and it's self-serve (which I really like). I guess i can say we got adventurous and started mixing, but the regular mixed with the spicy brought the spicy down to a good medium with a tang. YUM! Although they are a franchise, I'd still say give them a try to see if they're up your alley since everyone has different preferences for BBQ. My wife and I decided to give Dickey's Barbecue Pit a try. We drove across town to 128th street and found the restaurant amongst other small businesses across the street from Mc Donald's. The restaurant was very busy and we decided to just order the food to go. We chose the 2 plate 2 meat and sides for $24 First issue was they were out of chicken and also out of Turkey. My wife decided then to go with 2x pulled pork . I chose pulled pork and Beef Brisket. After a wait we chose our sides coleslaw x2 Waffle fries and macaroni and cheese. We bought drinks to go with our order. But my wife soon discovered that the sweet iced tea dispenser was empty. The pulled pork in my wife's container was like a jellying fat with very little actual meat. My container had a bit more meat to the pulled pork but the Beef Brisket was scraps of almost pure fat. As it was 7:45 all we can think of is they served us the scraps of fat left before they closed. First and last time we will go there. Just stopped by today to grab lunch and have to give a big thumbs up to the folks here for a great meal! It's great to have such a good BBQ place without the long drive. The portions were more than adequate and the pricing fair. The pulled pork and brisket were tender, moist and tasty. The mac & cheese was superb (I really want that recipe!) and the waffle iron fries were better than those I have had at other establishments. Drinks were bottomless self-serve and the three types of BBQ sauce were plentiful and a good combination to satisfy different tastes. Definitely highly recommended. read more

My order came, and the first thing I noticed was it was incorrect. I received baked beans instead of mac & cheese, already disappointed. I opened the container, and the brisket was about 50% fat and very greasy, pretty much uneatable. Then, when I was eating the chicken I pulled a piece off and it revealed a HAIR!! Disgusting. I'm mad I didn't come here and read the other reviews first because I had the same horrible experiences as other yelpers! read more
