Suuuch a cool concept that I found unfortunately fell short. But fried chicken, waffle fries, soft…read moreserve, milk teas? So many things to love in one spot is a great idea. Everything I tried did not live up to my hype though. I got the impression this was a place with a lot of personality and a good idea just executed poorly by using cheap industrial supplies/ingredients for everything. I got fried chicken that was dry but decently flavored, and waffle fries that were good but nothing special. The sauces here are reeeeally bad though and some were just industrial pre-packaged ones so that'd make sense. I got mac n cheese too that was also extremely bland. I almost wondered if this was like a basic sysco-style shop because it definitely felt like the savory foods were industrial-grade and fairly bland for the most part (not that sysco doesn't have some decent stuff that can be sexied up). On the sweet side I got an ube+vanilla soft serve swirl with a taiyaki shell added which was also just pretty average. The taiyaki was really ugly and malformed but tasted quite good. The vibe inside is extremely weird as well. It has a LOT of personality and local flavor, with various games and toys, foosball tables, instant ramen you can buy and heat up, filtered water stations (mayhaps Korean owned?). You order from awesome giant tablet kiosks that seem to have some poor UX software for the menu navigation system but it works. The chairs and tables though were also very strange, like they were pulled from a shut-down carls jr or something with thin poorly designed aluminium and particle board. Not a single table I found was stable, they all had a ton of wobble and the chairs were so tiny and small none were comfortable to sit on as a 6'2 dude. Honestly I almost want to recommend this place as an experience to see how uniquely odd it is, and the food is right up a college kid's alley and nothing so bad you can't enjoy yourself. At least come here as a tourist attraction and see for yourself what's going on at this eclectic spot.

I love Ezell's much Greatest chicken in the world…read moreFood brings me to tears My fourth review on this app, four being my favorite number, saved for Ezell's Famous Chicken. This is my favorite restaurant of all time. I lived in Bothell for two years when I was a kid, and my mom found this place when we got there. The first time we ate it I was hooked. We found out about the notoriety after the fact (from being inside the location). I kid you not when I say during our two year span of living in Washington we ate there probably an average of twice a week, every week. I always had a three piece white meat tenders combo with crinkle cut fries, a roll, and a drink. However, I also enjoyed their mac and cheese, coleslaw, and baked beans. My mom would always get three dark meat thighs or drum sticks, but she also liked the fried okra. The chicken was just perfectly cooked, their breaded recipe is so good, with the milk, it is so flavorful and crispy, the chicken just tastes so so good. And their sides are always really tasty too. The restaurant was really a comfort place for me. When my mom brought home some Ezell's I could immediately tell that she had it when she walked in the door because of the amazing aroma of their muffin rolls, and I would get so excited every time seeing that white bag. Eating Ezell's, despite being so normal for us, was always a treat. The service was always good, the employees at the cash register friendly, the service was especially good after my mom and I kept going so much. We always went to the Mill Creek location and because we were regulars we started learning the staff by name and they would always do things like give us an extra roll or two. One time eating there we even had our meals given to us for free by one of the two founders, if I recall correctly. He said he noticed us often when he was there (maybe because my mom has a distinctive look as a Polynesian woman). I think he was Lewis Rudd (just had to look up the name) because I remember him explaining how he and another man founded the restaurant and I remember him saying he wasn't the one that had the restaurant's namesake. He was a very nice man and exemplified the great service of the restaurant, making us want to support Ezell's even more. Last summer I went on a road trip and visited some friends in WA, and went back to the Mill Creek Ezell's. Eating there was one of the biggest things I looked forward to going back to WA. I didn't want to discuss with anyone how it was after I ate it again after so many years because I didn't want thinking of an opinion to taint or distract my enjoyment of the food, especially after hyping it up for so many years of absence. I was afraid I was romanticizing Ezell's from my childhood and that my sentiment caused me to be unjustly biased. However, being as fair and objective as I could, I ate my usual order and it was just as amazing as I remembered, it was about as close to perfect as you could get, I don't believe in perfection but it's damn near. I cannot understand how Ezell's is only a 3.2 star at the time of this review. Even though apparently there was some kind of falling out with Ezell, the (former(?)) owner/founder, and even though he has a new chicken chain, I still have such an allegiance to Ezell's, which will always have my love. Greatest chicken in the world, or at least in my world and I will die on that hill defending it. Also, as a side note - why the heck is there just a random Ezell's location in the UAE?

This restaurant serves great fried chicken and sides. The lunch specials are very affordable, and…read moreI am always pleased when I order from Ezell's.

For a semi-fast food restaurant they did sort of take a while to deliver our food, but it wasn't too long. The people working there really didn't seem like they wanted to be there but since it's a pretty quick and easy place It didn't really matter that much. The chicken itself tasted pretty good. The breading wasn't too thick, but the fries tasted like they were sitting out for a while and didn't taste fresh. There wasn't anything that stood out too much to me at this place so I'm not sure if I would return or opt to try another new place.

Food: (5/5) I always drive 164th so I've been eyeing this spot for a long time. My partner and I decided to finally stop by last week and our minds were blown!! We got the fried catfish, collard greens, black eyed peas, corn bread, and sweet potato pie. Everything was AMAZING. The catfish was crunchy on the outside and perfectly succulent on the inside. The black eyed peas and collard greens were both delicious savory additions to the meal with great texture. The cornbread had additions of cheese and peppers, and was a yummy mix of sweet and salty. The sweet potato pie, which we learned Andre's wife makes, was beyond addicting. If we hadn't had a snack before coming, we would've cleared everything immediately. We plan to try everything on the menu, especially the fried okra! Service: (5/5) This was probably the most memorable food experience I have ever had. Andre, the owner, is extremely passionate about his work and it shows in everything that he does. We ended up chatting for quite awhile and our conversation reminded me of everything that's important in my personal life, in the best way. Please come by! You won't regret it for a second.

I'm not super familiar with the Everett restaurant scene, so I sent her a handful of options--and we landed on the most delightful little find: a beautiful African restaurant just minutes from the airport. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed. The ambience was perfect--modern and clean with stunning African art that made the space feel both welcoming and special. It even felt a little upscale, but still family-friendly (they had a couple of high chairs, which was perfect since I had my kids with me). I instantly thought, I'm coming back here with my husband for date night. We ordered the peri chicken thighs and the oxtail stew, and I'm telling you--both dishes were above and beyond anything I've ever had. The chicken was unbelievably juicy with layers of bold, rich flavor. The oxtail? Fall-off-the-bone tender, deeply savory, and so comforting I practically melted into my seat. To top it off, they surprised us with cinnamon-seared pineapple--sweet, warm, and just the right hint of spice. Every bite we had was truly out-of-this-world delicious. I would say it's about a 30 min wait to get your food, we ordered ahead online which was convenient. The dining area was really messy, since majority of the tables were littered with people's trash and leftovers. Understandably, they were prioritizing the kitchen because of the amount of pick up orders they were receiving. We each ordered 10-piece bone-in wings, a side of fries, and veggies. I picked out the hot honey rub, which was my favorite. The garlic parmesan was disappointing since the seasoning was lacking. The wings here are fried nicely, but the fries are oddly soggy. They were still good though, due to the seasoning. Also, the ranch here is so delicious! I don't know why, but I'm addicted to Wingstop ranch. Make sure to order extra if you love to dip. Overall, it's a great place to pick up some wings. Just be considerate of the wait time and cleanliness due to staffing.
