This drive-through and window pickup restaurant in Gainesville is a popular burger joint in the college town. They only have outdoor seating. I had the Impossible Burger $10.64 but they also offer a veggie vegan option. Also sweet potato tots $3.92. Everything was delicious. Seems like a small burger and could have a better bun and add tomato. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Dick Mondell's is a great place to get burgers! Though their burgers are great, my favorite item on the menu is their sweet potato tots! FYI: Their cash register does not allow for 'swiping' cards - only inserting or tap. For anyone that comes with a gift card - just be aware of that!

I had high hopes for this place. They did not deliver. I have never had such a dry over cooked burger in my life. It was inedible. On top of that both patties were in pieces. I should have asked for a refund. I ended up throwing it away. I will say the fries were really good.

My friends and I came here for dinner after the first home game and LOVED our meals! Dick's is a drive-thru type of eatery where you order at a window. There is no indoor seating, only outdoor. The menu is super simple and classic. The prices are unbeatable! The service is pretty quick and they are really on top of things. I ordered the "original big dick" which included two 4oz beef patties, lettuce, pickles, onions, and their famous Dick's sauce. I added American cheese to mine as well. Along with my burger, I ordered a small fries and side salad. The burger was served right from the griddle and was so basic and yet so good. It wasn't overdone with the toppings, etc. The simplicity of it is what made it so memorable. The sauce isn't extremely overpowering either and is the perfect burger sauce. The patties are similar to a smash burger and the melted cheese on them was heavenly. The bun was buttery too. The fries were really good and fresh as well. A little salty, but still good. I enjoyed my side salad, it was good, not great. All in all, our experience at Dick Mondell's was amazing. The environment is super chill and gives retro vibes. The burgers are so good! They're juicy and full of so many good flavors. The price alone is a reason to eat here considering how filling our meals were. It is the perfect way to spend a night after a long day of tailgating! This will for sure become our go to burger place in Gainesville!

Dick Mondell's has delicious "fast food," but that tastes so much fresher. It's also great to be able to support local and still get a delicious burger! I really like their impossible burger and the sauce is amazing. It is a bit pricey, but worth it for the quality you get. I'm not a big burger person typically, but when I get the craving I'll always choose this one! The outdoor seating is nice and the service is good, sometimes a bit slow though. I like that they have both a drive through and a walk up option and it's a very cute little place!

Well Dicks was recommended to us from a friend, had never heard of it, so i looked them up, was curious so we decided to try them out.. drive there is not too bad , students are back in town so expect a lot of foot traffic there, there was only one car ahead of us, but quite a few at the walk-up window. Prices are reasonable for a burger spot. The girl was friendly who took my order, the order came up pretty quickly. We got home and the food was still hot, the chicken sandwhich was good, little overcooked, but still tasty. The tots were sweet and fresh, the burger my wife ate was good as well, have had better , but it is a unique spot which gets all its food from local farms, so by buying from them your also supporting local farmers, businesses. The only downfall is the seating there is outside, and is limited, so its more of a grab and go locale..

Enjoyed a visit here during Fest weekend recently! Love that they have a variety of options, including those for vegans/vegetarians. My husband got the classic burger and I ordered the Impossible burger; we shared a large order of fries. Despite how busy they were, the service and quality were great. Will definitely be coming back next time we're in Gainesville!

Some of the best burgers in town. High quality, fast and hot. Staff is always nice. Prices are actually affordable. There is a drive thru but also a few outdoor seats.

This Babe loves her Burgers! So when Dick Mondell's came to town in 2019 or so, I was a quick fan like so many of those in our community. I mean, you can't miss it! Driving down 4th Ave, it's difficult to miss the vintage-themed drive-thru with their bold Blue & Orange sign so next time - stop! The menu at Dick's is a simple one, but it's worthy to know that you're ordering a la carte. So your burger, side(s) and drink are separate so don't be surprised! My personal order: A Dick Junior w/Bacon and pretty much all the free toppings possible + Coffee Milkshake + Ginger Half & Half. The Burgers here are SO fresh and the Dick's Sauce? *Chef's Kiss* Not the most budget-friendly burger option in town, but totally worth upping your burger budget just a tad to taste love on a bun. For your next meal, enjoy a bag of Dick's at Dick Mondell's!

I've been to El Indio a couple times as it is right by my apartment complex. It is a great place to…read moregrab authentic Mexican take out in Midtown! With that being said, I've tried a variety of their menu items. They offer a wonderful variety of tex-mex dishes, burgers, soft-serve, and more. Another thing I appreciate about all their entrees is that you can customize them, include whatever meat you want, remove items, and add items. I really do appreciate this as it makes your meal truly cater to your cravings! This location is a takeout spot or drive-thru experience. There isn't any indoor seating spaces, although they do have a covered outdoor eating space. The service is usually pretty quick and friendly. I have never had any issues here with my order and I have always received the correct order within a reasonable amount of time. Everything is made to order and tastes very fresh as well. I would say the prices are fair and the portions are giving, depending on what you order. They do not offer complimentary chips with most meals though. On my most recent visit, I tried their nachos with shredded beef and churros. The nachos included a bed of their corn tortilla chips topped with black refried beans, jack & cheddar cheese, then topped with sour cream, guacamole, and salsa fresca. These were just ok and definitely not my favorite thing from here. I don't think nachos are served best as takeout and the chips got kind of soggy. There was a plentiful amount of the tender shredded beef though. The flavors were there, it just wasn't executed the best and I would probably opt for their tacos instead. I also don't love El Indio's guacamole as it reminds me of premade store bought guacamole. Their chips are also hit or miss...sometimes they taste very fresh and other times they are slightly stale. On this particular experience I didn't think I got the freshest chips. Their churros I got hit the spot and were coated in ample amounts of sugar & cinnamon. I thought these were a perfect way to end my meal and really enjoyed them! Overall, I really think El Indio is a solid spot for Mexican in Midtown. They have a solid business and are relatively close to campus. The food tastes very authentic, is fresh, and has a lot of flavor. While the nachos weren't my favorite, I love their tacos (all of the meats I've tried have been wonderful!), taco bowls, and their soft-serve is AMAZING. I truly enjoy ordering here and will definitely be back soon! I would recommend checking them out if you haven't already.

The shrimp was cooked perfectly and there was a (what seemed to be) mayo based sauce inside. The slaw was nice, though if it was a bit sweeter it may have been even better. The nachos are my go-to. The Guac and sour cream on top is my favorite part and it's always super fresh. The staff are always super friendly and service is fast! It's a seat-yourself order at the counter type of place. Nice covered outdoor seating

Okay, this is a hard one. Let's get this out of the way first...Magoo's was good. I'm a Cane's fan…read morebut wanted to give this a try. Honestly both do things well. I like Cane's fingers and comeback sauce better, but HM has a ton of sauce choices not just one like Cane's. In this respect, it's like Saucys, but better. They also have salads like Zaxbys, but better. And nuggets, let's not forget the nuggets. Their Texas toast probably the best in town. Blows Cane's out of the water. For fries I give the edge to Cane's. So if you only one strips and comeback sauce, Cane's wins. If you want variety, like salads and nuggets and a variety of sauces, Huey Magoo's wins. Zaxby's which used to be one of our favorites has gone downhill and is really only an option if you want wings, which the other restaurants do not have. Saucy's, unfortunately, which replaced PDQ, comes in last. So overall, I like this place. It's a bit hard to find, but if you're an old timer it's in the last location where Burritos Brothers used to be, just off Univ Ave. If you're looking for some good chicken strips, I'd give this place a try.

We love Huey Magoo's so much! The chicken tenders are always so fresh and crispy…read more I typically prefer bone-in chicken except when it comes to the tenders here. The fact that they use dark meat (chicken thighs) to make the tenders gives them a unique taste that I prefer to any other chicken place that I've tried. I love the selection of sauces here as well BUT you do have to pay for additional sauces so there's that. Their fries are perfectly seasoned and the toast isn't too salty. I like the wrap as well. I honestly have nothing bad to say about the food or service (the employees are always nice). My biggest pain point is parking. It's by the university so of course parking is terrible and hard to find. It's the only thing that keeps us from eating here at least once a week.

The food hall is fairly new and not all the stations are completely set up. That being said, they still had a great variety of things to choose from. Ranging from pizza, to tacos. to asian, to smoothies, they have something for just about anyones tastes! The hall itself is spacious and very clean. It has an industrial feel to it with dining hall sort of vibes. There are some really cute UF accents and decorations included as well. It wasn't too busy when we came, but they did have a DJ doing music. There were also several people enjoying the bar located in the center of the hall. The portions are decent sizes. Some of the stations portions are bigger than others. Which is nice because it allows you to sample and explore multiple things. I ended up starting at the Mexican station. They offered freshly prepared, customizable tacos, quesadillas, burritos, etc. I opted for a single taco, so I could try some of the other things offered. The tortillas are griddled with cheese in them, then topped with either chicken or shredded beef. You can choose from a nice selection of toppings including pico de galo, more cheese, lime juice, and an array of sauces. The taco had great flavor, but the cheese caused it to become "soggy" and fall apart. This made it particularly challenging to eat the taco. I then ventured onto the pizza station. They served focaccia styled square pizza with a thicker airy crust. It is almost reminiscent of a Sicilian styled pizza, but a little lighter. I opted for the pepperoni with hot honey added for an extra charge. The pizza was amazing! Served hot and fresh right out of the oven. The cupped pepperonis were heavenly and amply spread throughout the pizza. There was the perfect amount of hot honey to compliment to heat of the pepperonis. The cheese to sauce ratio was nice and the crust was chewy. It the perfect size for a personal pie or could easily be shared with a friend. I really enjoyed the pizza and liked the square style of it. Overall, I enjoyed the Gainesville Food Hall. They offer a nice variety of cuisines. It is family friendly and a great spot to grab a bite and hang out with friends. The space is clean and has an inviting feel about it. I really appreciate the idea of a food hall and think it is a great addition to Gainesville. Will be returning at some point in the future and cannot wait to try more!
