They were stuffed with a great crispy flavorful shell. The kale salad was a take to a Ceasar salad. You can taste the bits of anchoives which wasn't overly salty. My sister had the burger that had flavorful juices leak through the bread. Definitely had to grab a bite. My wide and I split their sampler of meats on a sizzling plate. Cant remember the name of the dish. The blood sausage was great. And the various meats was unbelievable. My daughter had the ravioli that was perfectly cooked with a refreshing lightly acidic sauce. Will return. Just remember to bring cash

Good lighting, good music, and the hostess was nice. We started with the gruyere and fontina empanadas and honestly that combo is one of my favs. Cheesy, simple, and comforting. I liked the Uruguayan sausage more than I expected, especially since it was easy to share. The octopus with lima beans was good but got a little lost with all the beans. The chicken liver pate could have been great, but the toast was real bad and didn't let the dish shine the way it should have. The halibut ended up being my favorite entree of the night. Fresh and balanced with the broccolini. The flan was amazing, creamy, smooth, not too sweet. I would absolutely order that again. Some dishes were more hit or miss. The squid ink ravioli sounded good on the menu but came out a bit under seasoned and not as warm as it should have been. The short ribs were tender and nicely braised, just pretty standard. Good, but not memorable. Service was inconsistent and not as attentive. A few dishes could have been more thoughtful with timing and temperature. We did not get to try the ribeye or skirt steak this time. Overall it feels like a place with potential. Not a bad experience, just a bit hit or miss for me to travel the distance for.

We asked that they include the croquettes among the tapas and we chose the squid ink paella. The croquettes, pork, brussel sprouts, and potato were all perfect and exceptional. The tees leches cake was perfectly moist and not overly sweet as well. I wish there was a little more seafood in the paella l, but the taste was still amazing. The bruschetta and asparagus were delicious, but left something to be desired compared to the other dishes. The bartender was amazing (we sat at the bar), but very busy, so service was a little slow.

I was greeted greatly, even with only a few minutes before last call for dinner service. The server and the bartender was reallt friendly and knowledgeable with the menu. Gave me really great options. For food I had the Spanish Olives, Pop a La Pedra, & the Croquetes Del Dia(made fresh every day and changes as well). I had a old fashion to drink, needed something that will warm me up for the cold weather. The ambiance was cute, and chic. You can tell that the workers run it like a little food family and I love that the most about El Born. Will definitely come again ans try out their brunch , heard it was amazing.
