An incredibly unrated spot in Indy! We came here right before the dinner rush and found a parking spot, thankfully. The parking situation looks like it's rough during busy times, so definitely get here early. Our server was very helpful and quick to get us everything we needed. Food came out with the same speed and was great + HOT! The garlic cheese bread is a different style than your average garlic bread, but it. is. DELICIOUS. I mostly love this place. Having moved from NYC I'm pretty selective about pizza and while some other nearby establishments were pitched to me as having the best brick oven pizza, I think Diavola actually does. Most of the other food we've had has been pretty great as well with a couple exceptions...there was a gnocchi with vodka sauce special a few weeks ago that, while not mentioned on the menu, came drowning in truffle oil. You can ask for it without but surprise truffle oil when you can't stand truffle oil is kind of a problem. The other is their lasagna. I've made and tasted a 1000 different lasagnas and I suppose it's a matter of preference, but I know lasagna to be kind of delicate, with light almost crepe-like layers of pasta with béchamel. This was just piles of melted cheese. I couldn't actually taste anything other than cheese and the texture was a total loss. All that said, I still love it. Diavola is such a great spot for a date night. I got the Classico pizza and she got the Mushroom Ravioli, and both were delicious. The portions are solid too. I almost always end up with leftovers, and the pizza reheats surprisingly well in the air fryer the next day. Service was great overall. We were seated right away, drinks came out quickly, and the food timing felt just right. Our server was friendly, attentive, and checked in enough without overdoing it. I also really liked the decor and overall atmosphere of the place. We sat inside, but the outdoor seating looked just as nice, maybe even better on a good evening. One of the best parts is being able to finish dinner and then take a walk along the Monon afterward and grabbed some ice cream at The Clubhouse. This place is known for being a pizza spot but let's get into their pasta. I might be basic with my order but I got spaghetti and meatballs. Those meatballs were big and proportioned just right with the amount of noodles and meat sauce. The service was quick, I ordered online headed to the restaurant and I got my order within five minutes of stepping in the door. I ordered a pizza with extra sauce, mozzarella, peppers and mushrooms, and declined the artichokes. I was surprised and thankful they substituted spinach for the artichokes without me even asking. Shocking that it has taken me this long to visit this place. We had a girls night here and it's perfect. We arrived right at 5, the time that they open. There were several people sitting in their cars ready to go in. Once you go inside you can totally see why. There isn't a ton of seating so I would imagine it will fill up very quickly. Our server was helpful. Since it was my first time I asked quite a few questions. She did let us know that the day I came wine was half off, so of course we had to order a bottle. First timer! I real hidden gem. I live not to far from here and drive past it all the time. I like the vibe set in here it was upscale but still family friendly if that makes sense. I've always found that restaurants located in the Broad Ripple area of Indianapolis tend to be much more interesting and trendier than what you typically find downtown or in the northern suburbs. The food is usually better too, and our trip to Diavola reinforced that. We went on a Saturday night; I made reservations for 5pm, and within 30 minutes, the place was packed. Service was outstanding. Despite the large crowd, we never waited too long for drinks or appetizers. The baked goat cheese was incredible, as were the cocktails. We had the Diavola pizza, and it was amazing. It's a Napolitana-style crust, and it was obvious that every flavor was intentional. The interior of the restaurant, although space-limited, was inviting and clean. I took note of how many people were sitting outside, in barely-50-degree weather, just to dine here. Service was great, attentive, friendly! Ordered Pera Pesto and Truffle Funghi and flavors for both pizzas were very good! The crust was nice, light, fluffy but also had a crisp to it. The appetizer was also good, I would have liked a little more basil in it personally. Maybe bread instead of pizza dough would have soaked up the sauciness of the dish too! Dinner paired nicely with a glass of wine too. The only feedback of a suggestion for improvement was that our table wobbled and we tried to apply a temporary fix to avoid the rocking back and forth by placing something under one of the table leg. A few friends and I celebrated 2 birthdays here in the Fall. We sat on the patio and had such a lovely time! Their Mushroom Ravioli was everything I could have wanted and then some. I know everyone loves the pizza here, but the chicken pesto pasta was calling my name! After scoring a spot on the Top Places to Eat list, I had high expectations and was not disappointed! I was upset, and had been crying before I picked up my order. I got back to my car, to call the lone family member i have, and to just, cry; and your two hostesses came up, knocked on my window, and offered me a dessert. They were so sweet, incredibly earnest, and graceful. They didn't seem to want to say "hey we see you're going thru it" and that made it all the more special. I'm diabetic, so the pizza itself is a splurg, and I can't do dessert. But these two girls, wow. Thank you. I have a unique history with your restaurant. I moved to Indy the same time you opened, and I started patronizing you before you had pasta on your menu. I was worried you didn't have enough business. 52nd was slower at that time. Then you added bolognese. Tried it. Loved it. Loved the pizza more, tho. My husband and I moved to the neighborhood. We had more frequent visits, tho more to gos than anything. This was my second time eating here, and it was so much better than I originally remembered. The pizza was so flavorful, and the crust was soft but still a little crispy. We were able to walk-in during lunchtime on Sunday with no wait. There's some free parking nearby, which is nice. My partner and I, who booked reservations for outside a day before for our anniversary, were the only people of color being seated outside at our time of service and were seated in the very back of the parking lot next to a truck DESPITE there being an open table for two. I asked to be moved and was swiftly declined, while the other "booked" table did not arrive until 40 minutes after we got there. Grace took excellent care of us and was very personable! She paced out our meal nicely. We all split a bottle of the Cannonau, a Sardinian red, which was light and an easy drinker with our food, similar to many Sicilians I've had in terms of salinity and earthiness. Started with the meatballs as we always do which were simple yet delicious with homemade marinara and fresh bread for dipping. The chop salad was also very good and the bleu cheese and raw onion provided a nice bite. Lastly, we finished with the barbecue chicken pizza, which we hadn't ever had but now is a new favorite! Diavola makes some of the best wood fire pizza! I love trying all of their different specials and we never go wrong with the classic pepperoni. I think it's a little pricey because they attempt to provide a more upscale atmosphere but the cleanliness and service don't stack up. We recently took some family and had some issues. They didn't take my sisters food allergies or religious preferences very seriously. She doesn't eat tomatoes, tree nuts, or pork and we had some issues when our order first came out. They also have the middle tables too close together and the people behind us kept elbowing us and scooting their chair into our backs. Not the best experience this time. read more

We sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly. Inside was cozy and perfect for our winter visit. We started with the brussels sprouts, which had bacon, parm, and truffle oil. They were quite a treat. They came out piping hot, which was also a great sign for the rest of our meal. We also got the genovese pizza which had a base of pesto and was topped with chicken, sun dried tomatoes and caramelized onion. It was delicious. I even heard a "best pizza I've had in Indy" spoken. It was also fresh from their brick oven, the crust was crispy yet soft on the inside and the toppings were delicious. It was a win. The only thing I didn't like about the restaurant was that the cocktail menu didn't have prices. That never really makes sense to me and I'm not as laid back as I'd like to be about that kind of thing lol. In the end, I got the Italian Gentlemen cocktail (Bourbon, Campari, Orange Bitters, Lemon Juice and Agave) and it ended up being $14. It was spirit forward and a very good drink so I was happy. We had gone to Diavola for a night out, somewhere where we could have a nice multi course meal. Diavola is situated in SoBro, just off the Monon trail. There's off street parking in from the of the restaurant. Spaces can be tight on the weekends and certain evenings. We served by Christopher, a pleasant man who served us well and put a candle in our dessert as a way to celebrate our 6-month anniversary. Service was 5/5. The sauce is really good, and we started off with the Eggplant coquettes followed by pizza and calzone. Partly came here because we saw that they offer vegan cheese as a substitute ($3 up charge). My wife is vegan and made her own pizza. I opted for the calzone. Mine was pretty good. Just really big, so there was plenty to take home. I would say food was 8/10. The tartufo dessert was very decadent. Ambiance was nice. There are some vintage posters on the wall, and ambient lighting covering the place. I would advise to make a reservation if you plan to come here on the weekends. The place was packed. Overall, I'd give Diavola 8.5/10. The food was really good but can be pricey if you make substitutions. There is a legit Neapolitan pizza oven in the place. I like Italian food and you can usually catch me across the street. Today, my husband and I are out for a bite before 5pm and decided to try it out. We always mentioned trying it as we drive by. Let me tell you this place did not disappoint! Dante' was our server, he gave excellent service. He is very soft spoken, so listen up, he's going to direct you to some of his favorites. I had the Caprese and the Wild Mushroom Ravioli. It was delish. Not a crumb left in the bowl. I missed not having bread to sop up the wonderful sauce, but didn't really miss it. My wife has spoken about Diavola for years but we'd never been able to go. However I was finally able to take her for our anniversary and I must say they did not disappoint! Everything was outstanding from our outstanding Waiter who was very nice, attentive & helpful when we weren't sure which entree to get because it all sounded so good! The restaurant itself was very nice and it has an even nicer patio area that with lighting to enjoy on nice warn evenings like we did. Lastly, but obviously most important the food was spectacular! From the mussles we started with, to my wife's pizza straight from the wood fireplace, & of course my salmon risotto! YUM! First time visiting today for celebration of our adult son's birthday. Just great experience! Pizza was amazing with service to match. Rowan was prompt but never intrusive. We had 4 different pizzas; Bianca cheese, Truffle fungi with vegan cheese and same with pepperoni for sausage with real cheese and a Contadina with added soleggiati tomato. Our foodie group came to Diavola Pizza for some pizza and conversation one night, and I can see why people rave about this restaurant. Diavola is a very new Italian restaurant that opened up in Broad Ripple and is known for their incredible pizza. Our server was good, and definitely busy on this particular night, because he was running around like crazy, and we hardly ever saw him for the first 15-20 minutes, but he did come back to our table and took our order. He did make sure our waters were refilled, and we had everything we needed at our table. The food was everything people said it would be, which is fantastic. The pizza was the best pizza I have had in a while! I ordered the pepperoni pizza and it was an excellent pizza! The crust and the texture was just perfect on the pizza, and the cheese and pepperoni were pure heaven! Everyone else loved their pizza as well. The garlic bread was some of the garlic bread I have had in a long time. Diavola Pizza definitely raised the bar for me when it comes to their pizza.
