I asked them sew a similar fabric on the UNDERSIDE to reinforce it and keep it from ripping more. Didn't need to be perfect, I knew the tear itself could not be sewn together but patching and stitching the underside could mitigate the damage. I came to pick it up and BOTH SIDES were covered in a fabric patch that's not even a close match! I was told that there wasn't a way to reinforce it from the underside so they just did both. Even if that were true (it's not), why did no one call me FIRST and tell me the work I requested and paid for wasn't possible? This is a very basic ask of a professional tailor, it's unbelievable they got it so wrong! This patch is so much worse than the original tear. She had shipped me the dress half made- not fitting correctly and now what I originally asked for, once i messaged her she blocked me on everything. I provided my own original design for this dress and paid in full with the understanding of that deadline. At this point, I am simply asking for a fair resolution. To hem two pants and the sleeves of a blazer was $115 plus tax (a bit steep there- and much higher than posted on their Facebook). The pants were $25 each and the blazer was $65. I was hopeful the quality of work warranted that price, but unfortunately that's not the case. The seamstress folded in the arms of my blazer and sewed it in like that, leaving button holes visible in the cuff, of which they kept the buttons that they removed. I had to request she sew shut the cuff button holes now mostly on the inside of my blazer at pick up and expressed it doesn't look good as I now have a thick and bulky cuff with visible stitching, and a visible button hole on the edge of the cuff. The stitches are all visible through the outside of the clothes, and the stitches themself are not neat. I'm extremely disappointed that my nice business clothes (all JCrew and in total cost over $400) now look like this and am contemplating how I'm supposed to show up to work with a visibly horribly altered suit. As a positive, they got the work done way faster than requested (almost 2 weeks) or communicated; although, I'd rather they'd have taken their time and done a better job.

The wedding was being held in Europe and I was leaving this Wednesday. I asked the staff at the desk when they would be ready and she told me to come on Monday. It would be ready by Monday, she guaranteed. The invoice came to 37 dollars which surprised me because these were simply unstitched silk material. I wanted them pressed because they are easier to pack in your carryon baggage. Today, that is, Tuesday, I went to pick them up after work, and the same lady told me that it was not there and that it was at the Derenne branch and that it was on their truck and it was not there yet. She had told me last week that it would be there on MONDAY. I was a little taken aback and asked her when it would be there and she asked me to come back any time after 3:30pm. So I went there at 4pm to pick it up. The same lady told me that it was not there. I was shocked. I was in a complete panic at that point because I was going for a wedding in less than 24 hours and I didn't have anything else to wear to the wedding. I need my clothes, I told the lady; I am leaving for Europe for a wedding tomorrow. I have nothing to wear. You said they would be here Monday, and then today, and they are not here. She then told me that she would have the truck deliver it to my work Wednesday morning! I just couldn't believe it or believe anything she said or Curry Drycleaners said. Are they at least pressed? I asked her. No, she told me. They are not pressed. They were under something somewhere. Somehow they didn't look at it for 5 days!!! I told her that I don't want them pressed and that I will drive to Derenne and pick them up because I just wanted my clothes back. I will press them myself. She said they close at 5pm. It was 4:20 pm by then with all the explanation. I lit out from Wilmington island at 4:20 -- the traffic on 80 and Truman were brutal. I reached the Derenne store at 4:45 pm and picked up the untouched, unpressed clothes. I was simply appalled at how irresponsible they were. I will never trust Curry Drycleaners again. It was traumatic.

However, I cannot recommend them because of two other reasons. First, the cost is ridiculously high for mundane cleaning. A simple pair of pants was $12. A polo shirt was $11. I haven't encountered costs this exorbitant even in high cost-of-living areas such as Washington, D.C. or Miami, FL. The second dry cleaner I tried here in the Savannah area was a little more than 1/2 that amount. I paid $7 for a pair of pants and $6.50 for the polo shirt. And the cleaning itself was comparable. Secondly, the employees I encountered both on drop-off & pick-up were surly and acted like they were doing me a favor by taking my money and giving me my clothes. I'm not looking for a best friend when I go to a business, but I do expect a bit of courtesy and professionalism.

She cut off the excess material, flipped up about 1/4 inch, and sewed it on a machine, just as you would sew a seam. The stitches are too tight, and the dress no longer falls gracefully to the floor. The bottom of the dress is already turning up, and the dress is truly a disaster. I'm searching for another seamstress to see if it can be repaired, but I seriously doubt it. The event I'm going to is in less than a week, and I'm afraid I won't be able to attend because I won't have a dress. I'm more than disappointed; I'm irate.
