THEIR "REPAIR" RUINED MY SOFA UPHOLSTERY! DON'T GO HERE! The upholstery on my sofa detaches and is machine washable. I tore it while putting it back on. I asked them sew a similar fabric on the UNDERSIDE to reinforce it and keep it from ripping more. Didn't need to be perfect, I knew the tear itself could not be sewn together but patching and stitching the underside could mitigate the damage. I came to pick it up and BOTH SIDES were covered in a fabric patch that's not even a close match! I was told that there wasn't a way to reinforce it from the underside so they just did both. Even if that were true (it's not), why did no one call me FIRST and tell me the work I requested and paid for wasn't possible? This is a very basic ask of a professional tailor, it's unbelievable they got it so wrong! This patch is so much worse than the original tear. The sofa was custom made in Japan and is a one of a kind piece. Pics of the tear and what they did to it. The pics of the denim repair is an example of what I asked them to do. read more

I had two expensive formal gowns cleaned at this establishment. Done within a week and the looked great! Exactly what I was expecting.

This place is AMAZING!! I bought a skirt that was way too big for but it was so cute! They were able to make my skirt fit like a glove! The customer service was so kind and sweet! I highly recommend and will be a returning customer! read more

Great alterations on a set of service trousers. They look as if nothing has been changed

I needed pants altered, hemmed on short notice (24) hours. Called and inquired if this was something that could be done. And fortunately, the owner said yes! I called other locations that morning and was told they would not be able to turn it around in time. Price was $28. Some thought that may have been a lot. However, it was in my range and conducive to me having the pants back in order to make my flight the next day. I would definitely go back for alterations. read more

Great experience here! The woman working there is so sweet and friendly. My bridesmaids dress was altered perfectly, and for a very reasonable price. Will definitely be back! read more

Great flexibility of their skillsets. You name it they can probably do it here. The options that they also provide save me time and headache so that alone is worth the trip. Getting your items put together after you take it all apart for dry cleaning is a hassle that you will not have to endure. A few options in town and within the vicinity, I will always call this place before I call the others. read more

This is my go-to for private school uniform alterations and formal wear alterations in Savannah. Service is always exceptional and accommodating. Walked in today without an appointment about 20min before closing (which I do not recommend, but was running behind schedule) and my daughter was fitted for her dress alterations that she needs. Love that I have a local shop that I can trust to do a fantastic job every time and that cares about the community. Thank you, as always! read more

Thank you for hemming my bridesmaid's dress with short notice. It came out wonderful and was a day early. I plan to go back when it's my wedding day! read more

I loved the results on my 3 dresses. They fit me perfect and I couldn't even tell where she made the alterations at. They really do good work! I will be going back to this place if I need any more alterations read more

You can't please everyone but if you can please 9 out of 10 you are doing great. First and foremost the owner is the shop and she is in her shop almost everyday even staying late sometimes, after the store closes, to finish work for people. worried about the price? well who goes to get something done without asking the price first. Anyways. So I was in a pickle and had to get 5 USAF BHG uniforms done for a parade within like 3 days. These uniforms used to take the alterations shop on base about 2 weeks to do from scratch. I sent the specs over to Chrissy along with one of my older uniforms and with a few looks she had it. she knocked out five fully dressed USAF BHG uniforms from nothing to something in 3 days. that include hems, tapers, sew in creases, piping , ranks, waists. no easy task when you virtually have to take the pants apart to do it and then sew them back together again. the prices are more than fair especially if you look at the alternatives on base. she is a master of the trade. Need custom pillows made?she can do it ( I walked in and saw her doing it), need drapes? she can handle that too? need a dress done? bring it in. BY THE WAY-- Name tapes can be done here! why pay the Exchange and have to wait weeks when she can have them done for less and in no time flat. Name tape machine on site! To be a one person shop and provide the service that she does and in the timely manner that she does it makes this shop pretty dang good! read more

I dropped off 3 OCP uniform tops to get 2 badges, rank, and tapes sewn on. Went to pick them up and all three had rips and holes from the velcro. Two of my badges had the wreath sewn through. Owner said that happens and said probably no one would notice but she would fix the issues and would have it done the same day. When I went to pick them up the next day she elongated the nametapes making them 1/2" bigger than the us army and moved them to cover the damage. My rank is still crooked, my badges are offset and I still have holes in brand new top. When I told her she said she said they looked fine and nothing further would be done. I paid $85 just for labor I supplies all the patches. I am paying another $75 for everything to be redone and paid for two more tops to replace the damage. read more

100% satisfied. I would definitely recommend and will definitely be using for all my future alterations.

I reached out to the owner to see if she could assist with pressing my wedding dress and although that option didnt work out she was able to steam our clothes for our engagement photo shoot and formal dinners out. She was super quick, affordable and most importantly, provided excellent customer service. If we lived in the area, I would be a lifetime customer! read more

We have used Chrissy at Express Sew since she opened. She has done both major and minor alterations, and some very tedious repairs. When we get the items back the alterations are usually better quality than the original sewing. The repairs she has taken on have been excellent. She are her staff turn out quality work time and time again. Her shop is across town so not really convenient, but due to the Quality of work, we make the trip. We also use the dry cleaning service n a regular basis, items are always perfect, way more attention to details given in the finishing read more

Don't go here if you're military. You get better prices and service at the PX and it's a quicker turn around for dry cleaning. I tried to get rank sewn on my PC and the person didn't know where to sow it. I went to the PX shortly after just to realize everything was at least 1 dollar cheaper per service. If you need your ASUs dry cleaned, it's only 10 at the PX read more

I cannot begin to say how thankful I am for this place. I had 1 hour to get a bunch of things sewn for a military layout and she dropped everything she was doing, (even though she was incredibly busy) to make sure I would meet my time-hacks. Overall, a quality job in such a quick time. I will be a continued customer here for however long I am stationed here. read more

I am SO impressed with the ease of requesting my hems and picking them up exactly as new as I had dropped them off! I had purchased two pairs of those yoga-dress paints (beta brand) and they were WAY long for "average 5'6" girl...ug) but Express Sewing made it easy to get my legs hemmed as if they were originally made that way! PS--Having English Fluency with a seamstress WAS AWESOME --and I have often run into sewing companies where communication has been problematic---there is NO mis-communication here. I'll be returning and going to send my husband here for his business as well :) read more

Great service and very friendly and helpful staff. I dropped off one suit and 6 shirts to get cleaned and pressed; and it came back one day later in perfect clean condition. read more

My active duty Army coworker and I were TDY to Savannah and she needed immediate patching assistance. This crazy soldier had tripped on a sidewalk in a construction area and she ripped a chunk out of her camouflage uniform from a piece of exposed rebar. Crazy, right? Thankfully right across the street from the entrance to HAAF was a fantastic, fast, and inexpensive solution! The owner herself took the time and care to perfectly and flawlessly repair the torn fabric. read more

Always great work done on whatever I bring in which encompasses many different required skill sets. They're also incredibly friendly and willing to work flexibly. Absolutely the best quality cleaning and sewing in Savannah and always accompanied by a pleasant experience. read more

So far I have only had alterations and patches seen on here but she was very nice and did a good job. Probably most importantly there was a very quick turnaround time, 6 pairs of pants all in a few short days and 6 name patches ready the next day of I recall. It appears the dry cleaning is sent out because I did not see any equipment for that sort of work but I may try them for dry cleaning soon since I do need that service also. The shop is directly across from one of the entrances to Hunter Army Airfield and I saw a good amount of military uniforms waiting to be picked up so I'm sure that is a lot of her business. read more

Great and immaculate service. Work is always done on time and I've never had an issue. Great customer service and extremely friendly. Definitely the best spot in Savannah. read more

My daughter was referred to this dry cleaners as being very efficient and inexpensive. Being a college grad student who is trying to save every penny for her education this bill ended up being twice as expensive as dry cleaners in Virginia where she is from. We brought her quilt, 2 shams, 4 fleece lap blankets and a small throw rug and was charged close to $200. We could have purchased a new quilt set, rug and throw blankets for half of that. I urge anyone who is a prudent shopper to ask first what the price is. They certainly take advantage of making money off services that shouldn't cost as much as they charge. Beware and careful not to waste your money here. The store was suppose to be opened at 10:00am and when we arrived after a 20 minute drive found out that a note tapped to the front door said they would not open until 12:00pm. Not a way to run a business especially when most people have schedules to maintain. We were very disappointed in the service we received and appalled at the price charged. read more
