It was supposed to be ready on Friday, so we went to pick it up the following Monday - but it wasn't ready. We stopped by today to pick it up and they told us to go pick it up at another dry cleaner!! We drove all the way across town to that place and the guy there looked at the sport coat and said, "Huh. I guess we didn't clean it." Thanks, man. So, after a week of waiting and driving all around town, we have a dirty sport coat, that smells significantly worse for wear. You've been warned. read more

I dropped off an ivory Neiman Marcus Cashmere Sweater to David's on a Friday afternoon. When my husband picked up the sweater on the following Friday it was stained front and back and completely ruined. I spoke with the clerk who provided the owner's phone number. When I called the number it was a completely different Drycleaning business. No offer for compensation or outreach has been made. Horrible dry cleaners! I've lived in numerous cities, and this is by far the worst. I had at least a dozen linen and cotton women's shirts dry cleaned. They were so tightly smashed together on their racks that I had to iron each of them at home myself. They lost or ruined my queen sized comforter (who knows) and I've been trying to get a refund on it for over a month now. Every time I come into the business to try and get help they tell me the manager is out and they can't assist me. Twice when I've called to get help with this and they've straight up hung up on me. Previously I had good experiences but this has really ruined my opinion of them. Also their prices are double what I normally pay, I'd just been going because of location convenience. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a dry cleaner. To begin, when I arrived on Monday to drop off my clothes (30-items total) and was told it would take at least 30-minutes to check my items in AND she acted annoyed that I was bringing so many items in (she was on a phone call that I was obviously interrupting). I counted my items and left them without asking about pricing (I have used Poolers Best Dry Cleaners before moving to Pooler and foolishly assumed it would be similar in price). Upon arriving to pick up my items, I once again felt like I was a bother to the lady on duty and was completely shocked to get a total of $273 to my items?!?! I asked he if that could possibly be correct and she confirmed the price. To add salt to my wounds of the price gouging, when I presented my credit card I was informed of a 3.5% fee that would be assessed to my order because I wasn't paying in cash. This will be the last time I use Davids Dry Cleaner and I will be sure to tell everyone else to avoid them as well. read more

The lady that I spoke to when I came in was rude and unprofessional. Shirts were strewn around the shop making it look messy and claustrophobic. She herself appeared unkempt. I was told that my clothes would take a full week to be ready, furthermore I was told that I would be charged three times the normal rate for my Express shirts, then that became Express and Kenneth Cole, then it became Express and Kenneth Cole and Structure. Afterwards she insinuated that I wouldn't be able to afford getting my dry cleaning done there and suggested Curry Cleaners stating that they were more up my alley. It's been a long time since I've felt so insulted. I have no plans of returning. I can't speak for the actual quality of their dry cleaning services due to being all-but denied service. read more

They have not fixed stains pointed out for items to be cleaned, they have caused damage to items that I had cleaned, and have potentially lost an item I am waiting to get back. All of the dry cleaning businesses in the Savannah area seem to have poor Yelp reviews. Because of this, I nearly picked one at random. David's markets themselves as an "eco-friendly" business, so I picked them over the others. I hadn't used a dry cleaner in the Savannah area prior to David's, so I don't have much basis for price comparison. The prices seemed perhaps a bit higher than I was used to, but if their plastics are biodegradable and they don't use nasty solvents as their website says, then I'm willing to pay a bit more. I dropped off 5 linen shirts for dry cleaning and 3 standard dress shirts for washing. All 8 came back clean, properly pressed, and without any damage. When I dropped them off, I was given a receipt that itemized each shirt by its color/details. They offered to send me either an email or a text message when they were ready. I received my text as promised. I received great service here and see no reason not to go back. Maybe this is just an instance where it's far more likely for someone to write a review when they've had a bad experience than when they've had a good experience. read more

They lost a $400 dollar dress of mine. After contacting them I not only got threatened by the worker but also hung up on. The worker said my whole name and told me she was coming for me. Not only did I lose a dress I worked very hard for, I got zero help trying to navigate the dress. I'm upset about the dress, but more importantly scared about getting threatened. read more

I took my shirts to David's for the first and last time. I decided to give them a try and see if they lived up to the image they try to project. Short answer - No! The prices are outrageous. They tried to charge me $7.94 per shirt at first for two ordinary cotton shirts. After I complained she dropped it to $3.03 each which is about double all the other places. I asked for no starch and they came back stiff as a board. The indifferent lady behind the counter said she could "send them through again" but I had no interest in ever returning. I know we don't have much choice in Habersham Village for convenient dry cleaning, but please don't make a costly mistake by leaving your clothes with Davids. Three times Davids lost or misplaced my clothing. This past time my package included an old sad sweater which was not tagged and didn't belong to me, and my good sweater was not in the package, its lost. They have been 'looking' for my sweater now for 2 months. They have been 'calling' me to discuss this issue now for 2 months. On previous occasions I have had to walk to the racks and search for my own clothing after realizing that my order didn't include my own clothes, rather another persons. I have politely asked for a phone call, a resolution, explained that I recognize that mistakes can happen. Please don't trust your special cleaning with Davids. They don't care. read more

BEWARE! DO NOT GO TO DAVID'S FOR ALTERATIONS! If David's Dry Cleaning was a student and I were the business's college professor, David's would get a total F for customer service, organization, delivery of promises (especially as written on work tickets), and reliability. As a woman who is short enough to even need petites sized pants to be hemmed, and as a relatively new Savannah resident, I did not know where to take my clothes for alterations. Since I drive by David's, I decided to go there. The price is a good deal higher than I am used to, and they seem to take their sweet time (a week...sometimes more. I am not so used to this). However, the first few times I dropped off clothes for alterations, a decent enough job was done that I decided to go back. The past THREE times (between February-May, 2015), however, the script has been seriously flipped. The first time: pants were not done on the day and time the ticket promised. I had to go out of town for a job interview. Thankfully, though, someone at David's hustled enough to get the pants to the dry cleaner on the morning of my trip and I was able to delay my departure just long enough to go to the dry cleaner's right when they opened. The second time: the clothes I had altered were not there by the promised date and time. Somehow, someone hustled and had the clothes to the store the next day. am convinced that the dress was not hemmed properly, as it is unwearable. Someone took horrible care of my clothing and my request for alterations. No bueno. The third time: I knew well enough by now to go to David's the day AFTER my ticket said my pants would be hemmed. I arrive at 7 AM (the start of the business day) and wait for 20 minutes. The shop is still closed and no one is coming to open up. I left, and I came back 6 days later (May 26, 2015). Apparently my clothes--which, according to the ticket, were due on May 20--were nowhere to be found and were in the computer as not being complete. The woman behind the counter took my phone number and said she would have someone ring me with information on where my pants are. I sit here, like a lady in waiting. My phone isn't ringing. The woman behind the counter also gave me the name and location of the seamstress that David's works with and suggested I start taking my clothes straight to them because the work will be done at a much better price, and it will be done much more quickly. She also said that with the problems she has seen customers have, she would not encourage anyone to bring their alterations to David's. read more

Definitely more expensive than I have paid in other cities, but I called another dry cleaner in the area and was quoted approximately the same price. Clothes came back clean, wrinkle-free, and with no damage. $17 for a 2 piece suit and about $3.50 per dress shirt. Dropped off on a Friday afternoon, and they were ready on Tuesday afternoon, just as they said. read more

I gave David's one star, only because I didn't have the option of giving them fewer. I chose the business strictly out of convenience and location, in spite of all the negative reviews I had heard and read about here. I should have listened! I will never use their services again, and I strongly recommend you don't either, for a myriad of reasons. I brought an 8 X10 area rug in on a Saturday to be cleaned. I was told it would cost $65, and that it would be ready on the coming Wednesday after 5 PM. Tomorrow will mark 3 weeks since I've seen the rug, and they still can't tell me when it will be ready, or where it is. My guess is they have either lost, or ruined it, and are trying to figure out what to do next. I understand that problems arise with businesses on occasion, and I would be sympathetic, were it not for the flippant attitude of the employees. The only thing I've been told is that it's not back, it will cost more money, and we'll call you when it's ready. I don't know how this business keeps its doors open. read more

This company was recommended as I was an out-of-town bride who needed her wedding dress pressed. We brought all the men's suits and shirts in as well, for an overnight appt. I told them the dress would need to be ready by 10am on a Friday, as my wedding was at 4pm. My planner went to go pick it up and when she brought it back, we realized it wasn't ever (or didn't appear to be) touched/pressed. We called instantly and they said they pressed it on Thursday (when we dropped it off) and then put it back in the garment bag. Really? So you press it and throw it back in a bag to get wrinkled, and then call yourselves professionals when we told you the wedding time? This led us to take a closer look and this is when we realized they SNAGGED my gown. I did NOT have a cheap gown and there was NO way to fix it. They ruined my dress!!!!! Also, 1 of the guy's shirts was pressed with the button flap folded the wrong way so we had to bring that back as well. We had to stay in town longer so we could meet with the owner. He denied any responsibility for the damage. I was SO upset. That being said, he still gave us a refund of the fee paid (just under $200!) so clearly he knew he was wrong... Eh, it's a cleaners. The service has always been good here, the people are friendly and they get my clothes cleaned on time. The problem is they aren't great at cleaning clothes. I just picked up a pair of dress pants and not only did they fail to remove the marks on the leg of my pants they also double creased the legs when pressing them. This isn't professional at all, I don't really care about the service if they can't handle the basics like cleaning and pressing clothes. So Exactly what is the "eco-friendly" system they use at David's Dry Cleaners? Not sure myself, but I do know it's not working! First time trying a cleaners in the Savannah area, I dropped off a couple of silk blouses, a dress and a jumper. The few minor stains I had on all items, remained intact. It appears that all they do is press the clothes and charge you outrageous amounts ($8 per blouse, $16 per dress) for what is essentially a mediocre ironing service. Oh yeah, they also ruined one of my shirts. There were black stains of my silk cream color shirt! When I confronted the lady at the front, she told me it probably bled from another shirt, as they put a bunch of clothes together in one big machine, but they do try to sort it by color (??!!)... The only good thing I can say about this entire ordeal is that I asked for a refund and got it without having to make a scene... I'll take chemicals with my dry cleaning with no complaints from here on out! Not going back to this place. read more

Do not go here! I dropped off 2 pair of pants and 2 dress shirts on a Tuesday to be cleaned and pressed, they were supposed to be picked up on Friday. On Friday, I went to pick up my items, they had 3 of the 4 items. One of my shirts was missing, but the lady said it would come in the next delivery and to stop back later. I was annoyed at the delay but since I had some other errands to run I could indeed just stop back later. Well "later" came and I stopped back, and still no shirt, now the lady is on the phone with the location on Presidents Street wanting me to describe my missing shirt. Then she wants me to drive to Presidents Street to look at the other shirts they have lost track of to see if one is mine. Basically she wants me to rummage through some lost and found box to find my shirt that she lost. This is some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I don't think I'll ever see that shirt again and frankly these people could care less, they didn't even offer to refund me the cost of cleaning the shirt they lost! Short of taking them to small claims court, I feel I've exhausted my options. Its shame because I had only worn that shirt twice, I had received it as a gift for my birthday and it was from a very nice men's clothing store that I usually can't afford to shop in, and now due to David's Dry Cleaners I'm out.
