I've given DiamondStar and Erik 5-Star ratings before, but have decided to enter another rating to counterbalance my previous rating. The night before my wife and I went to Europe for a few weeks, my LG washing machine went on the fritz and wouldn't complete a wash cycle and would shut down with the indication the door was unlocked although the door was locked. I had my daughter call to arrange for Erik to come out, but he doesn't do evenings or weekends and she has a full-time job. Fair enough. So before we returned to the states, I called to schedule him to come over, but we had to wait for a couple of weeks. The Friday afternoon he was supposed to show up, we got a call from his office to say, "Erik has a good idea what the problem is and won't be out today, but he will pick up a part tomorrow and will be out Monday afternoon." On Monday, he didn't show and we were told, "The parts store didn't have the part and he ordered it and will schedule an appointment with you when the part comes in." By this time, the family had been without a washing machine for six weeks and was tired of going to a laundromat to do the washing and I felt I was getting a runaround. After all, if he figured it out without coming out, why didn't he order the part sooner. So, I canceled the job with Erik, called another company, and they came out the next day. I appreciate the times he came out in the past, but many business relationships reach a point where they go stale and they die. I suppose that's what has happened with DiamondStar's success. After reading Erik's response below, I agree there are always opposing views. I waited two weeks for you to come. I was told your assistant could come out earlier, but you know the machine and so I went with a delay and was not told I was an add-on. As for declining your call, that is a total fabrication. I never had a call from you. All calls were from your office relaying messages so check with the lady who schedules your appointments and answers the phone. Let's just leave it as it is. I am out of your recently established desired service territory, so that will decrease any problems on your part. Erik, regarding your comments to the second part of my review, I am anything, but "foolish"...nor am I as offensive and condescending as you are in your comments. Indeed, I am strongly 'fact-based' and not interested in continuing a public 'cat fight'. By the way, I arrived back in the states on the morning of May 16th, so your attempt to distort events is unsuccessful. Accept responsibility for failing a customer and move on. read more

Today was a prime example that there are still honest, people out here!!!!!! This gentleman -Erik came to my condo and repaired my dishwasher a week ago and fixed my dishwasher. I would first like to add, he appeared on time, well groomed, and had a great attitude. He also showed me, how to unclog the dishwasher myself to save me costly money. Today he appeared at my condo to fix a leak. That was no longer in need of fixing. (I neglected to put a part back on which I did before today so there was no longer a leak. He still checked it to make sure it was installed properly. (I would also like to add the dishwasher was not even bolted to the counter, and he went the extra mile to bolt it down, free of charge). Even though the job to replace a dishwasher was slightly outbid by another local construction company. The construction company appeared 20-30 minutes tops, and half did the job. Erik ended up repairing a half done job by the other licensed construction company!!! The hoses where not installed properly and a crucial plug was not taken out when installing the garbage disposal which in turn would cause Debree from the garbage disposal to leak into the dishwasher. This professional gentleman (Erik did this all free of charge)!! They are punctual, accurate, knowledgeable and honest!!!! I will DEFINITELY be a repeat customer and pass their name around. If I could give Erik 10 stars . . that would not be enough! We started the day at my rental house where the oven had quit working. With Erik's inspection, he found the oven was beyond repair. No parts avaialble for it. As we walked away, Erik said that he would not even charge me. What a welcome thought I said to myself. Next it was on to my home where that oven had been making a terrible, irritating metal on metal sound. Within seconds Erik told me the cooling fan was the culprit. We turned the oven on just to make sure his diagnosis was correct. By the time the oven heated up to 400 degrees the evil sound could be heard. Erik ordered the part and said he would return in a couple of days. In the meantime, he spotted a missing part on my down draft stove top fan and ordered that part as well. A couple of days later, he returned with the oven fan, but could not find the part for the down draft cook top part. He said that he would locate it and come back in a day or two. Later that afternoon he called and said the part had been located and would be at my house in a half hour or so. He showed up, installed the part and was on his way. We, too, had the pleasure of having Erik and Arvin out to uninstall all of our appliances before a big remodel, and we will not be hesitating to have them back out to reinstall them once said renovation is complete! Bree was a rockstar getting back to me quickly to return my initial call, get the details, and then call me back with an estimate as well as scheduling availability. (Bree also made sure to send us a confirmation and reminder text the night before.) After calling 30 minutes out to say they would be arriving on-time, the guys uninstalled a dishwasher, double-door fridge, range, cabinet-hanging microwave, and stacked washer and dryer as well as moved them around our war zone of a home to a single spot near the front door for our movers' ease all in about 38mins from their on-time arrival in our driveway. Erik was very organized and made sure to tell us what he did with all of the hardware and how to drain the washer properly before leaving. It cost us $308 after tax and a $40 travel fee; it would have been $280 had I remembered to grab some cash that morning. All in all, these guys deserve their rating on Yelp as it stands currently--we'll be sure to update upon reinstallation, but I foresee a long-standing relationship with these guys for all of our future appliance needs :) Good job, Erik, Arvin, and Bree!!! read more

After scheduling online through Sears Home Repair (they contracted Amy's Appliance Repair) to fix our Kenmore Elite Washer (bearing was unbelievably loud during spin cycle and water was slowly dripping from underneath to the floor), we were scheduled within four days. However, the day of appointment (after clearing our schedule and waiting at home for couple hours), the repairman calls to apologize that he was backed up and couldn't make it as we were #3 on his list and his boss wouldn't authorize any overtime after 5:30 pm. "Ok...Fine, then when can you come out?" "I don't know. Don't shoot the messenger, but we might be booked out all of the following week and not sure when." Thats when I decided go onto Yelp and search who has 5-Star rating, which I should have done from the beginning. It's true what others say about the communication. First rate! There was a conflict about the time when Eric could come out, but Jennifer texted me couple days prior to make sure it was ok. Eric called me the day of the appointment and came out earlier than expected. He was so knowlegable and honest about how bad our washer actually was. He gave us a discount on the trip charge since the repair wasn't worth the high cost. I highly recommend them and we will call them for any future repair needs. read more

Contacted Erik after business hours on Friday the 14th of November. My Viking cooktop wasn't working. It kept sparking even after the burners were lit. Erik said that if it were any other weekend he would come out on Saturday. He apologized that this weekend he had plans he could not change. I've never had someone apologize for not being able to come out to work on an appliance on a weekend. Kudo #1 for Erik. He made an appointment with me for Monday for between 1:00 - 3:00. Monday morning I found out that I had to pick my daughter up from school and let Erik know I needed to leave the house by 1:45. Erik let me know that he would make it work so that I was out the door on time. Kudo #2 for Erik. Once Erik arrived, he went over the work I had already done and it turned out that I had made one simple error. I forgot to turn the 220 back on for the oven. The cooktop 110 outlet runs off one leg of the 220. Erik was very polite and was happy to go over my work with me and was not irritated that I am a DIY'er. Kudo #3. A large company 'stood me up' for an appointment to repair my washing machine. Many wasted hours. Another professional I called pretty much said over the phone that my washing machine was something he really didn't want to try to fix. I called Erik based on his high reviews. I know that he was very busy, but based on my sad story, he fit me in to his day. He kept in touch on his ETA and when he arrived he did EVERYTHING in his power to make me comfortable, fix the problem, and be helpful and personable in every way. He was very intent on cleaning up behind my washing machine and did not make be embarrassed for how dirty the situation was! Erik, you are one of a kind...a true professional and fair and fun, too. My Bosch dishwasher was not draining properly. I got the number for DiamondStar Ltd. from another technician that does not work on dishwashers. Erik arrived on time and in 10 minutes diagnosed the problem and then proceeded to fix the problem! He was here and 45 minutes later gone and I had a working dishwasher. In the 45 minutes he was here he showed how he was diagnosing the problem and how he was fixing the issues. Additionally, he gave me a tutorial on how to use the garbage disposal. Yes, there is a right way and a wrong way! The wrong way was why my dishwasher was not draining! Erik is knowledgeable, professional, and personable. I will not hesitate to call DiamondStar Ltd. again. In fact, I have scheduled him to come in February to clean my dryer vent. Another thing I was struck by is the enthusiasm he demonstrates for his job! This guy likes fixing things and tutoring people on how to get the most from their appliances! OH MY GOSH!!! ERIK is AS GOOD AS IT GETS!!!! This is the young man you NEED to CALL to FIX ANY APPLIANCE in your home. My Samsung dishwasher (DO NOT ever BUY this brand!!!) had stopped working 2 weeks ago. I called 4 different repairmen and they said they couldn't work on it because Samsung was such a terrible brand :( However, I called Erik and he came with Jennifer (lovely assistant!!). Of course the dishwasher worked right away!!! However, Erik is a wealth of knowledge about appliances..so next time, I know which to buy. AND I will be calling Erik for installation!!! BUT (here's the real news), Erik DIDN'T CHARGE me a thing!!!! That's right, folks...looked at the dishwasher but because he didn't fix it I wasn't even charged a service fee!!!!!! Who does that in this day and age??!!!! WONDERFUL SERVICE!!! Erik is very busy (no duh!!!!) so be patient. But he's the one to call if you need ANY APPLIANCE FIXED... Jen and Erik of DiamondStar are the best appliance repair company I've dealt with - EVER! Phone calls and texts are returned the same business day, generally within the same hour. If Erik's behind schedule, they always call, but he's never been over 20 minutes late. We had a Bosch dishwasher with a terrible mold problem. I'd had other repair people take a look, spoken directly with Bosch several times, and tried a zillion different remedies from the internet. Erik was the first person to be truthful. He said he could take the dishwasher apart and clean it, but that there was no guarantee the mold wouldn't come back. He suggested buying a KitchenAid. We did, he installed it, and it's been dreamy. He came out yesterday to look at a broken Viking warming drawer and had the problem diagnosed in under 10 minutes. Erik is efficient, courteous and an amazing diagnostician and technician. Very pleased. Erik and Arvin showed up on time and were ready to help. The customer service was amazing. They are very personable and were able to quickly diagnose the issue with my washing machine. Very easy to talk to and explain the issue for all us people who don't know much about appliances. I needed them to remove the defective part so I could submit it to my insurance and they did exactly that. They were quick and thorough and made sure to clean up and put everything back just like it was before they came. They are affordable and local and will be our go to from now on anytime we have issues with our appliances. If I could give more than 5 stars, I definitely would. Again, thank you Erik and Arvin! Once again, Erik came to the rescue! When our washer broker down a couple weeks ago, there was only one outstanding professional appliance magician I trusted, and Erik was the one. Not surprisingly, he was booked up, but no one else would do, so we scheduled a visit, even though it meant going to the laundromat for awhile. When Erik came over and took a look, it ultimately made more sense, with his good advice, to buy a new washer, and he was super thoughtful about his fee for making the (long) trip to our house to end up merely diagnosing. I can guarantee that anyone else would have "fixed" it, temporarily, and only delayed the inevitable, and at twice the cost. I completely trust Erik and feel totally confident referring him to our clients, as well as to help us with our own needed repairs. I got Erik's info from my mom, who had him install an over the range microwave a couple years ago. I needed the exact same service and she was insistent that I call him. His office assistant, Lesley, was very accommodating with my crazy schedule. I only had to wait a week before there was an appointment. Erik arrived on time and was professional and courteous. He works quickly and cleanly. I completely trusted him in my home. The wrong bolts were included with my microwave, and I thought Erik would leave and tell me to make another appointment when I had the correct hardware. Instead, he ran to the corner Ace Hardware to purchase new bolts so he could finish the job! I am so appreciative of his extra effort to make sure I had a working microwave before he left. My refrigerator stop cooling , called Eric who was referred from another shop that couldn't get to me for 5 day. I called him and had to leave message, and he got back to me in about 20 minutes which was great. He said he would call me back in morning after checking his appointments. He called at 8:30AM and said he could get to me between 1 and 3 the next day which was Friday. He then call Friday and said he was on the way and was their within 20 Minutes. He check the Ref and found problem, but would not be able to get the part until Monday, However was able to get Ref working for the weekend and was their on Monday with part and replaced it. His service was excellent and he was really good about explaining what he was doing and what had caused problem. From now on he will be called for all my appliances repairs. We've had many failed attempts for 2 months to get the Washer fixed through LG's warranty program and I decided to find someone reliable on my own. Staff operating the phone was kind, courteous, and informed. She helped me set an appointment that worked with my schedule, followed through on prompt call returns and check ins. Our repair man was friendly and able to identify and fix the problem the first time. Will definitely keep them in my list of go to maintenance the next time something fails. Our dishwasher stopped draining. I looked through YouTube for possible solutions; nothing worked. We found Eric owner of DiamondStar through a recommendation of a company in Tacoma. Eric arrived at the appointed time with great energy and enthusiasm. He started troubleshooting our dishwasher and found the problem in a relatively short amount of time. Eric found a half-dollar size piece of plastic under the dishwasher in the rear in the pump mechanism blocking the draining of dishwasher. We really need to make sure all items are clear of debris when entering the dishwasher. I just want to say, my wife and I are thoroughly satisfied with the service Eric provided in finding the problem with our dishwasher. In my opinion, you will be satisfied with Eric's service. I don't usually leave reviews but Erik at DiamondStar is absolutely amazing. Our Samsung fridge stopped working, so we called Erik and he's the ultimate professional in appliance repair. Erik spent so much time and energy trying to figure out the problem with our fridge. He even explained everything to us to make sure we understand how our fridge works and what he was doing. When he found out that our fridge had a manufacture's defect and was unrepairable, he recommended brands and stores we should shop at for our new fridge. He's very honest and doesn't try to cheat you into paying him more, which is so rare nowadays that it was refreshing. If we ever have any issues with any of our appliances in the future, it's nice to know that we can always call Erik. We'll definitely be recommending DiamondStar to our friends & family. read more

We had Arvin come out because the ice maker on our Samsung refrigerator was freezing up. We researched and knew this was an issue that likely would have a costly repair. Arvin was able to troubleshoot things and determine we didn't really need the expensive replacement and he could fix it with a quick trip to the hardware store - for significant savings for us. I am a huge fan of an honest company that only charges me for what is necessary; I know if we need another service I can trust if they tell me I need to replace a part or the appliance. Bree was also able to work us into the schedule in just a couple days, which isn't always the case when you don't live in a bigger city. Erik was responsive, friendly, and helpful. After calling him I was able to easily arrange an appointment via text. I thought my dishwasher's soap door wasn't opening at the right time, as there was soap left in it after running the wash. Erik taught me that the tall items I was putting on the bottom shelf was restricting the water flow on the lower sprayer thingy (technical term!). I really appreciate his honesty, and not suggesting work that didn't need to be done. I also wanted to replace the touch pad, as it was not always responding properly (and I already had the part). Because I already had the part, he only charged me the minimum service fee. Great experience! If I need any more appliance help, I will definitely continue to call Erik! read more
