For our 14 year anniversary my husband and I went shopping for a new wedding set. Jared's had changed their system and was no longer honoring our warranty so we decided it was time to try a new place. I've had my heart set on a Verragio since we first got engaged and was thrilled to have a place so close by that sold them. Mac was amazing to work with! She was super nice, helpful, listened to us and had answers for anything we had questions about. She gave us options and went above our expectations. She also kept me informed throughout the process which I really appreciated. She made sure I had it in time for a special trip to renew our vows at the beach and we are so thankful to her for all her hard work. Not only do I absolutely love my ring but I had the best experience to go with it.

I purchased a 1.03 carat H color VS2 diamond ring with a matching channel set diamond band from a local pawn shop. I contacted Elad at Diamonds Direct Raleigh via the Diamonds Direct website about coming in for an inspection of the diamond. After carefully unsetting the diamond and viewing with a microscope, he detected a small chip in the girdle of the diamond. Instead of having to get the diamond re-polished which would have taken more time than I had before I wanted to propose and have lost precious carat weight. Elad was able to exchange my diamond for a 1.00 carat H color SI1 diamond. He had it set within 4 weeks in a beautiful Sylvie ring- SY904. Elad was very fair in what I paid for this ring. Unfortunately, the diamond was improperly set by the onsite jeweler. There was a 2mm prong length discrepancy on two of the prongs...Elad and the vice president, Lev, went out of their way to get issue fixed very quickly and correctly for me despite the issue being beyond the skill set of the onsite jeweler. Elad sent the ring to an expert jeweler contact he had in New York. After receiving the ring back, he overnighted the ring to me via FedEx in Western NC in time for me to propose on Christmas. My now fiancé was very impressed with the ring. For this experience alone, I would give Elad and Diamonds Direct Raleigh 5/5 stars. As I mentioned, at the pawn shop I purchased a diamond band with the engagement ring. The ring set was soldered together. Diamonds Direct unsoldered the bands for me. Unfortunately, as the wedding band was channel set and original size 7, there was no way to size the ring to 5.25, my fiancé's ring size, without significant risk of losing diamonds in the long term. Elad was able to have a very similar, custom ring created using 3d design software that was able to use the 8 VS2 diamonds in my original wedding band. He then refined the design based on the feedback of my fiancé and myself. Wax cast of the original ring and updated design were provided before ordering the ring. The cost of this band was very competitive with similar bands sold by online retailers. However, this band was custom and much higher quality as it included the VS2 diamonds I had from the original band. My last purchase was a wedding band of similar style to my fiancé's wedding band. I was headed to Diamond's Direct to pick up the wedding band for my fiancé the day I ordered my band. Elad stayed behind for 5 minutes to briefly speak with me despite needing to head home to help his wife take care of their sick child. He got his colleague Prem to help my fiancé as she tried on her wedding band. Prem also assisted me as I ordered by wedding band. I selected RECF518516W from Benchmark. Prem ordered the ring for me. He matched the pricing I had found from an online competitor. I selected RECF78022SCC as the free ring that Benchmark offers all customers purchasing dress rings. In summary, Diamonds Direct Raleigh is likely the best "in-person" jewelry store in the Triangle Area-Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill. All pricing was extremely competitive. Pricing was better than every store I visited in the Triangle Area. Pricing was also in-line with online competitors. I advise buying in-person at Diamonds Direct Raleigh for the Diamonds Direct buying experience that includes complimentary cleaning, resizing, rhodium plating, etc. Also, every employee was incredibly thoughtful and genuinely cared about my diamond buying/ring buying experience. Even when I had the issue with the engagement ring, it was promptly taken care of by the Diamonds Direct. This would not have been the case with an online retailer. The Diamonds Direct team is truly like a big family. Even when Elad wasn't available other managers willingly stepped up to help me. However, when you stop by, make sure to ask for Elad!

I decided that for the investment, I would prefer an updated wedding band instead and was looking at a two-tone style. The sales process started smoothly, and sizing seemed straightforward at first. However, the communication around ordering and sizing became confusing. I was initially told the ring would take 5-7 days to come in, then 12 weeks, then suddenly it arrived. When the ring came in, it was still too large. After returning to have it adjusted, I was told the wrong size had been ordered (a 5.5 instead of a 5), and that it would need to be reordered again -- potentially another 12 weeks -- with no clear confirmation whether it could even be sized properly once it arrived. Ultimately, I requested a refund, which I did receive, though there was some hesitation due to timing even though the delays were outside of my control. The staff was polite throughout, and I genuinely liked the ring, but the inconsistent communication and sizing issues made the experience more frustrating than it should have been for such an important purchase.

I have never had an experience where I was disrespected and misjudged so terribly…read more I bought jewelry at this location and paid in cash. I'd like to add the piece I wanted wasn't in stock. The purchase went smoothly and I left with a really positive outlook of Finks Jewelers with plans to return. They did state they had a 30-day return policy in case I did need it. I returned to Finks Jewelers a few days later in hopes of either returning or exchanging my piece of jewelry. Their return policy is 30-days from date of purchase and they disclosed that when I purchased it. I paid with cash instead of using my debit card. When discussing the return/exchange process, I was met with judgement, poor attitude, and lack of respect. Naturally, I asked to return the item after this interaction and suddenly the clerk started spewing out "a policy" dealing with cash payment and refunds. Now they were saying a refund could take up to three weeks because they have to issue a check. I would have gladly paid with a card if I had known and wish I would have never used cash at this establishment. I wondered why they couldn't issue me cash, but I found out why three weeks later. I pointed out that Fink's Jewelers failed to disclose the policy regarding cash purchases. Like any other individual, I was frustrated that I couldn't receive a refund. They happily took my cash, but couldn't return it unless they performed a circus act. Instead of speaking with me like decent human beings, they ostracized me and had me escorted out of the premises like a criminal. I was understandably very upset that I was being treated this way, and definitely made it known that the way I was being treated was a problem. Even after that entire ordeal, I still gave them the benefit of the doubt. The check was on the way and I chalked it up to improperly trained staff (MULTIPLE) having a really terrible day. But boy, was I wrong AGAIN. I followed up with them frequently for a week and a half after this incident with the only answer being "the check hasn't been cut yet but it is being expedited". Which is a horrible excuse because they have done absolutely nothing to make this experience any better. So FINALLY, I called back and refused the typical "run-around." It was clear, at this point, they were doing everything they could to prevent us from returning the jewelry. The check arrived a couple days later and when attempting to cash it, the check BOUNCED. I called Fink's Jewelers immediately. They gave me some childish story about them not knowing what was going on, which was a lie. And instead of understanding my obvious frustration with this company doing literally EVERYTHING wrong, the clerk put us on hold. After being on hold, the clerk comes back and commanded us to act professional. I have BEEN professional and tried to give this deceptive and judgemental company the benefit of the doubt around every corner, but they could not and refused to handle their business in a trustworthy and upstanding manner. The bank clearly stated if we were to deposit the check, it would bounce. I'm not sure why anyone would want to do business with these people. I will gladly take my business somewhere I am appreciated next time. This was my first time buying jewelry and this was my first time using this company. It's very unfortunate because I previously lived in North Hills and expected the same hospitality I am used to.

Not mentioning names so I don't get my review flagged, but S.E. is either the Grinch incarnate or a merely a small, angry man... either way, the ownership is too complacent or lazy to do anything about it. My now fiancee and I brought her engagement ring there to be resized after being recommended to do so from the store we purchased from. Their website mentions "most resizing done within an hour", so we figured we would give it a shot. Upon arrival, as mentioned above, the jeweler saw it, and gave us a time that it would be complete by, "give me a couple hours", cool, we can walk around the mall, eat, kill time. About 15 minutes away from the time we were given for pickup, seeing as we were walking right by the store, we decided to check and see if it was done. We arrive and ask, and the jeweler scoffs "it will be ready closer to when you were told it would be ready". We explained to him we were told 3pm, and currently it was nearly 2:50pm. His reply? "I guess I better get started on that then". We are in no-rush, so we tell him okay, and that we will go next door to the restaurant there for a couple drinks and a snack. Before we are even finished with our single drink each, and a small plate of wings, he is in the establishment schmoozing with other bar patrons. We then return to the store and, thankfully the ring is done. We look at it, and well, it's good enough, but we've been in the mall around 6 hours at this point. I explain that I had planned on proposing that night, and while I appreciate the quick turnaround on this type of job, I will likely be bringing it back to have it corrected and returned to as close to it was when we bought it, to which they agree is fine. That Sunday, about 2-3 days before Christmas, I return with the ring. I am discussing with the jeweler that, for as confident as he was, this (small) resize does not exude "40 years of experience" and I would like him to correct that and fix the issues with it. Issues being, when resizing, he did not cut evenly or did not bend it in evenly causing the settings to basically be lopsided when the ring was on the finger, the diamond itself was far looser than when we brought it, and, worst of all, in resizing, he added metal to the tension setting as it had opened up a little. This metal not match, nor look consistent with the white gold on the rest of the ring, it was not built up, nor sanded enough to not look like a sack of potatoes (shown in pictures). He agrees that it isn't his best work and will fix it up for us. I proceed to ask him about when he thinks he'll be able to work on it / general timeframe, as once again, I know it's close to Christmas. I mention it's not a huge rush and I don't want him to think I'm rushing him, as that may have been the case initially, causing him to perform less than stellar work. He mentions "It'll be done Wednesday"... puzzled I reply "Oh, on Christmas Day? You're not taking the day off?"... his response "I'm f-n Jewish, I don't give an f about Christmas, I'm going to work and make some cash". Somewhat shocked by the delivery, but hey that's his choice to work Christmas, I smiled and nodded and left the ring with him. Christmas passes, it's Thursday so I am expecting to get a call that it's ready. Nothing. Towards the end of day, I call. One of the other staff members goes to look and then informs me he can't even find the ring, and he would ask the jeweler and get back to me. Doesn't get back to me. Now it's Friday evening, I call again. "It's on the bench ready to be worked on. It will be ready for Sunday". Sunday comes and goes as we traveled to do a late Christmas with my fiancee's family, no call Sunday. Monday we return, later in the day, figuring we would give them a final chance to rectify the situation. We get there, the ring is still on the bench and has yet to be started, and to boot the jeweler isn't there. The nice woman at the counter tells us that she thinks he just went to grab a quick bite or use the bathroom but should be back soon. We wait around, and he finally returns, and it STILL hasn't been started. There is finally some back and forth, a bunch of excuses, and I ask for the ring back. "I guess you want your money back to?" "Yep, thanks for making that so easy'. I then mention that if it can't be fixed, I will hold the business liable for refunding me the cost of the ring itself to get a replacement. "Sure thing buddy!" as he hands me a business card, with his personal number written on the back with "text". Would 100% avoid this place if you want anything other than cheap/theater jewelry fixed lest deal with this payaso.
