I've tried many many nail salons on this island and they were ok, however, my nails always chipped after a few days, broke completely, or I had a very rushed service. Diamond nails every-time has been great. My gel manicures actually last and they take their time on my services. This past trip I had Katie, and she was a sweetheart. definitely will be coback. ***Update*** Although my previous review was positive. After a few months I realized that I must have just got lucky those couple times. This place is a mess. Not just with the services provided, but the sanitation as well. The sanitation however is so bad that I will not be coming back. Old crusty tools, that never come out of the sterilizer. I never see them clean the bowls after pedicures, and the shop is always dusty and dirty and disorganized all around. Lastly the staff will start whispering to each other when you correct them on poor service when you're the one paying for a service ‍ Overall just a nightmare. This is my second visit to this nail shop. It is clean compared to some places, but it's not the cream of the crop clean. There is a fair selection of polish to choose from on the walls. The last time I came, the lady recommended the gel color for my pedicure so I thought "why not?" Well, my ignorance of the process definitely showed when I came back. So I was going to have a deluxe pedicure, but somehow got only the basic pedicure. They didn't take the Polish off prior to the pedicure. They did the pedicure and then had someone come over to remove the gel polish. I didn't know that your toes have to use the drill to remove the polish then soak with acetone covered cotton wrapped in foil and then it is scraped off. This is an extra $5 charge which I was unaware of when I came in, but rather when I paid. I thought it was part of the process since they can't just put polish in top of polish. I also had wanted a design, but the girl had already wiped down my toes and didn't realize I wanted a design though my toes had a very nice design last time and I had mentioned it. I think she was tired and wasn't really into doing a design by her expression. It's probably better I didn't because I would have probably paid for something that wasn't what I was hoping for. They got busy right after I arrived. They were a bit short staffed I guess, but had 7 people already working on folks and 5 people patiently waiting. They do a nice job and I'll come back. I like that I got the 5% discount from Yelp. It helped to offset the unexpected cost of removing the gel polish. I'm grateful that my big came out to $54 with tax and before tip. read more

I was told to pick out a color, so I picked out my usual favorite bright, happy shade of red and sat down at the indicated whirlpool chair. When I first dipped my feet into the water it was FREEZING cold. I should have taken that as a forewarning sign of the unprofessionalism to come. "Who does your nails?" she asked. I said that I usually went to a salon out in Hawaii Kai. "Oh. Why do you go out there? What do they do?" I explained that it was convenient for me to go there because I worked nearby. "Oh. So I went too diamond nails and got a full set with no polish cost $59 and these were short nails. After 2 days my first nail broke. I went back and the fixed the nail. However, when I went home I noticed there was moisture in the new nail. I went back the same day and showed them and they took off the nail and fixed it. The next day another nail on my other hand broke. I called them and they told me to come back but who wants to go back for a fourth time wothin 5 days when the nails are shitty? I can't believe I had 2 nails break with 5 days of getting them and that I paid 59 for this terrible job. I normally don't write reviews but Honestly feel I need to share my experience. On 10/4/18 I went in to have a Gel Mani and pedicure done for my Wedding. The lady (can't recall her name) started my pedicure and felt as if she rushed it. I let that slide but before starting my nails I told her something happened to my big toe that I could see something on it, she told me "oh it must be the dust" and did nothing about it.. She then started my nails and I asked for an ombré, she said she could do it based on the pictures I showed. During the process of the fade, I asked her "is the fade going to stay like that cause it looks streaky?" her reply "no, it'll be pretty". She put another coat of this creamy color over it so I figured ok she's still working on it. Before I new it she was massaging my hands and said that we were done. I could not believe my eyes, they were the UGLIEST nails I've ever seen!! I told the lady I don't like it, and she said paying together or separate? I looked and her and said I don't like it. I walked over to my sister in law (who was being worked on by someone else) showing her my nails, and the lady working on her asked to see, after looking she said I could come back after she was done and she'll redo them. I came back, the First Lady had to take off the gel polish. I told her I have cuts on my fingers from when she cut my cuticles, and shortly after put my hand in acetone! I reminded her again as it was open cuts, so she started to drill the gel off and KEPT ON DRILLING MY SKIN THAT HAD THE CUTS!! Mind you it was my ring finger that she kept doing that to. Finally I got made and told her again, your drilling on my finger with the cut and quickly we were done. The next lady, did a pretty good job. A lot better then the first. The only thing I'm disappointed about, is that i thought gel was suppose to stay for weeks. I did it Thursday afternoon and today a big junk of it peeled off, so did my sister in laws. I absolutely LOVE this place. I come here all the time. Get my mani, pedi, and waxed eyebrows. They help me so much and I cant thank them enough. Always show them what I have in mind for my nails and they give me what I ask ten times better. Unfortunately my friend convince me to go somewhere else for once. It was a mistake!! The other place screwed up my nails and I dislike how they did it. I had acrylic & gel, showed them a picture and wasn't even close to what I wanted. Didn't want to go go back to the place before to let them fix it. 1) it was not the shape I wanted, 2) color I wanted was matte and it didn't look like it or how I wanted it, 3) some of my nails look crooked, 4) you vould see EVERY flaws & mistakes. Called diamond nails to help me fix it and they are just MIRACLE WORKERS!! I didn't care about paying the prize to fix, I just needed to change what was damaged. I flew back to Oahu from Kona and headed straight to the nail shop. Amy was the nail tech that assisted me. She was very kind and let me change my nail color last minute (before painting any nails). She was the 1st left handed manicurist I've ever had so that was cool. Problem lies in the fact that 2 days after my manicure, one if my nails broke. This is not normal. I can run my manicure over 3 weeks when I go to my regular nail lady. When the first nail broke, I noticed that the too coat wasn't from edge to edge of the nail, I don't know if that contributed to my nail breaking but it definitely isn't the level of quality I'm used to. My cuticles were also not done as thoroughly am I'm accustomed to but I can deal. Today, 1 week since I got my manicure done, another nail broke and now I'm annoyed because I need to get my manicure redone. I really loved the color too. My daughter and I went in for a full set and pedicures today. When making our appointments and when we walked in we told them we wanted the special which was $50 each. Apparently the special only covered regular polish. I opted for pink and which which I knew would be more expensive but no dollar amount was mentioned to me. When my daughter sat down to get her nails done they showed her color swatches to pick out her color, never mentioning it was gel and an additional cost. When it was time to pay the total was $180 because we didn't get just regular polish so that means you pay full price for all services. The didn't even know how to take the gel off without damaging my nail. I told them a few times you file it a little bit and soak it with acetone and then it comes right off. I've been coming here for awhile now and referring so many people as well. I live pretty far, so i travel to salt lake just to come here. Lately, my pedicures have been getting shorter and shorter and it always seems like it's rushed. This last time i went, i took two friends with me and convinced them both to get diamond pedicures (which is two steps up from the basic, and what i always get). I was the last one to start, and the first one to finish. Then as the weekend went by, i noticed my toe really hurt and by Monday, it was hard to walk. I went back and the owner was very nice and accommodating and helped fix the problem. The same thing happened to my friends toe, and she had a different person, but she is too scared to go back and let them touch it. I'm going to give it one more try because i got the name of the person who gave me a really good pedicure in the past. If this next pedicure is a fail, I'm back on the hunt for a new place. read more

First visit. At 5pm there were about seven manicurists and each had a customer. For two of us getting a regular manicure, we waited about 10 mins. The lady at the front was very nice. One of the two dudes there took care of my nails and did a great job. Great massage, too! My mom-in-law had her last manicure back in August of last year, so her nails were pretty long (and tough to clip from what I heard). She decided on a French manicure and it came out great, which was done by the other dude. I wish I took a before and after photo of her nails! I came and got a regular pedicure ($25) and got a flower with a crystal center on the big toes. The pedicure itself was nice. She did a good job massaging my feet and legs, which is quite important to me. The girls did not speak in another language while working, also a plus. My total came to $32.45 before tip. Not sure what exactly the extra charges were from. Nail art starts at $3 and each crystal is .50, maybe the flowers were more than $3 each? I don't know, but they are cute. read more

Water began as ice cold then too hot. Didn't ask if I wanted filed or cut just began cutting toe nails and didn't shape nicely at all. One coat of polish on nails clear and white one each. About to cut nails I had to stop him "no just shape please" then went to wash hands with no soap someone passed me as I was trying to see if I could get soap out no assistance no replacing it just ignored. Then once again one coat of white and clear. Then price was higher than what was told to over the phone. So a true waste of $53 for a French mani & pedi. Won't be back! read more

I do not get pedicures often although I LOVE getting them. So since I took today off, I promised myself to go. Question was, "Where?" I was in the area so decided to try Diamond Nails at Salt Lake Shopping Center. I went in a little after 9am & was pleased to be able to sign in & immediately choose a color. The lady who greeted me was friendly & pleasant. I liked the fact that you can't see the pedi areas, private & maybe a smidge close quarters. The man who did my pedicure was the best EVER. I abuse my feet (volleyball, too lazy to put moisturizer, walking barefoot outside) so told him so. He laughed & said it was his job to fix. I got a acrylic fill & nail change for $48. Not worth it for the sloppy work. I usually get them done at Couture Nails but they were booked because it's prom season, so my friend and I came to check this place out since it's close to home. 1. The color did not match the color I chose, they said it's darker on display. So I chose a dark wine red color & came out to bright red, told her we need to change this and she just added just one layer of a darker color. I originally told her I wanted a burgundy color & showed a picture but she said they didn't have that color. 2. The lady that service my friend accidentally chose a different color than what she originally picked out. For a regulars gel change she charged her $40. Honestly, it's cheaper at Couture Nails & the nail Tec is more honest with the pricing when we want to add things on, I got charged extra $5 for matte... this is the first time I'm being charged, it's just a top coat. i was in a bind on christmas eve, with ugly toes and no time or energy to spare. then i remembered that there was a nail place in our neighborhood and called to make an appointment. i had alittle hard time communicating with the lady who answered the phone but she didn't get irritated that she had to repeat herself a few times, she seemed genuinely interested in helping me. when i arrived i was greeted by a friendly older guy (the owner?) and seated in a plush massage chair right away. i overheard that they just had new ones put in. i believe my technician's name was helen and she was very warm and attentive. i was just going to get a plain pedi ($25) but opted for the "middle" service ($35) which features some scrubs and lotions for softer feet and calves. the super deluxe package ($40) included an additional potion. helen took her time with the massage and scrub yet always had a smile, plus my nails looked great and i felt like a pampered princess - so i felt i got my money's worth. my only gripe would be that the ambiance wasn't super zen (unless you consider "garfield" the movie relaxing haha). the whole process took an hour but a lady next to me just had the basic pedi and she was in and out in 15-20 minutes. tips are cash only. i was alittle skeptical about going to a small non-mall nail place but now that i've popped my cherry i'll be back. after all, we all deserve to be treated once in awhile, and if not diamonds then why not Diamond Nails? ;) read more

This was unfortunately one of the worst manicures I've ever had. I am not big on reviewing, but this one needed to be done. I got gel nails, and it took forever, and the color is incredibly uneven (even noticeable from over a foot away). She abused my cuticles, and painted a ton of skin without cleaning it up at the end. And to top it all off, most of the nails have a big gap between the cuticle and the paint....in a week they'll look three weeks old. If they make it that long, I have a feeling they're going to start peeling in a few days :/ I have an interview coming up and was really hoping to look professional down to my nails. read more

I'd like to preface this review by stating that I am a REGULAR customer at this business for several years. Over that period of time, I have noticed a dramatic decline in the service and quality at Diamond Nails, as have a number of my friends who have (smartly) decided to take their business elsewhere. I will now join them. Yesterday, I went to Diamond Nails for my usual semi-monthly pedicure. A guy with blonde highlights in his hair, whose name I do not know, performed my service. My beefs are as follows: 1. Blonde highlight boy never even greeted me. I did not get so much as a 'hello' out of him. 2. Blonde highlight boy spent almost NO time working on my angry and aggressive callouses. They left in exactly the same condition I came in with. 3. He skipped the 'scrub' portion of my pedicure altogether. 4. The massage was weak and shorter than that of every other customer in this pitiful establishment. 5. He failed to clean up his mistakes. I have multiple toes with polish still smeared on the skin, due to his inability to clean up his messy work. And here's the big one: 6. At the end of my pedicure, blonde highlight boy speaks for the FIRST time to let me know that I can no longer tip via my credit card. He informs me that I need to go to the ATM several stores over to get cash for my tip! That's A LOT of nerve. Last I heard, tipping is at the customer's discretion. I have worked in the service industry, and it is NEVER OK to assume, ask for, or demand a tip! Tip is based on services rendered, and there was absolutely no way I was going to use another bank's ATM, which would charge me a $2-4 service fee, to leave a tip for substandard service. Totally inappropriate and unacceptable behavior! When I got home, I called the store and asked to speak with the manager, who was not present during my pedicure due to being 'on break.' When I called the store, a woman informed me that he was still 'on break,' over an hour later. She took my number and told me that Jack would call me. When Jack the manager called me back 45 minutes later, I outlined my complaint as I did above and demanded my money back. Jack stated that he would not refund my money, and I could come back to have his crappy shop redo their crappy service. I'll give them the opportunity to right their mistakes, but I will never set foot in Diamond Nails again. There are a million of these places around. I refuse to spend another dollar of my hard-earned money on services that are so blatantly subpar. read more
