Most shops are overcrowded with random things, whereas here it's very organized. I always get a Gel pedicure and they never disappoint. I loved it! I came in right after work on a Wednesday late afternoon. I did a walk-in appointment and the shop was pretty much empty. I was seated in seconds. Cindy let me choose the color I wanted and the shape I liked. She asked if i was happy with the result after each step when it came to length and shape. The process was quick and relaxing. I've been on the hunt for a good pedicure. I saw this place had pretty good reviews and good ratings. Tried it out and I was not impressed. I paid $50 for a 20 minute pedicure (30 if you include the 10 minutes I was left there to dry) I upgraded twice above the basic pedicure they offered. You would think, if I'm getting an upgraded pedicure there would be a little bit more attention/TLC. Now, although getting a rushed pedicure sucks, these are my main concerns: I have been a licensed nail technician for about 8 years and it is illegal to use "cheese graters" in a salon. You need to see a podiatrist to have your foot shaved with an implement like that. Here is why: implements that can cut live tissue on the microscopic level should be done by a medical professional. If done incorrectly, like of how they are used in salons, they create fissures AKA CRACKED HEELS. You may use a coarse foot file to remove callus safely as a nail technician. I expressed to my technician that I didn't want him to use the cheese grater on me, but he kept insisting. I eventually had to let him know that it was illegal to be using that in the salon. I also noticed that they do not use pedicure liners in their basins aka pedicure bowls. Sure, there are proper ways to disinfect that make this okay; however, I noticed all they do is spray the bowl, then rinse it out immediately. No wiping down of any kind, which we all know, it's the friction of physically removing debris and whatever bacteria laying on the surface that does the disinfecting. I also noticed that they do not remove the jet in between clients. Which means it's not being sterilized, and the bacteria collected from every single client is being circulated throughout the water during your pedicure... I noticed this unsanitary procedure a few times amongst the nail technicians taking their next client. The fact that they do this openly in front of clients, tells me that this is a common practice for them. I don't disclose my knowledge and experience in the field when I get services because to me, it shouldn't matter. If they are a good person, and they do their job correctly, I am satisfied. Nonetheless, I left with toenails that looked good. If that's all you're looking for then you'll be satisfied with this salon. read more

(not acrylic). my daughter wanted her nails done also. they were greeted, chose your nail colors, then sat in these massage chairs. then put their tootsies in the warm water bubble apparatus. theres concrete seats outside where the husbands/boyfriends were congregating. they washed the foot leg and shin and put lotion. massaged the hands. then applied paints. very attentive and efficient operation. i had good fun talkin about cars outside. they put slippers on and sent the fam out, i was summoned to da register to take care da financials. small price to pay for the car parts u desire. highly recommended! read more

I found this place while going to Office Depot next door and I've always wanted to try it. It's ok. The prices are average, basic pedi starts at $25. I walked in with no appointment and was taken in right away. The seats aren't that comfortable. They do have massage capabilities, but even the massage is rough enough where it shakes your whole body. I am petite though so maybe that's why my torso was shaking so I turned it off. I started off with a warm foot soak and I was given a price list. I chose the deluxe pedi for $35 which offered a couple of extra add ons from the basic $25. The deluxe pedi came with a foot and calf massage but it was just basic. My toes were trimmed and painted and then it was over. I was able to pay and tip with credit card. The lady who helped me did an ok job but I don't think I'll be coming back. I have had much better pedicures elsewhere for cheaper. read more

Came here with my sister, both wanting gel nails. I just got simple gel nails, and it was a fairly reasonable price - I liked mines. However, my sister asked if it was possible to get a custom design, and the lady agree. First of all, my sister was unaware that this would cost significantly more - it was like double the price. And the lady only told her the cost half way through getting it done, which i think is not very professional. From far away the design looks similar to the reference pic, but you can see from the close up photo it's not done very well - some lines are slightly crooked. I just think that it shouldn't be priced significantly higher for such a simple design that is not even done that well. read more

My go to nail ladies were on vacay so we decided to go here. I was a lil iffy because some of the reviews weren't so good. But it was close to where we lived and parking was convenient. I called the day before to book for 3 pedis at 9am. A guy answered and said yes okay. Maybe an hour later they called & texted me apologizing & asked if we can come at 10am instead. It wasn't a big deal so I agreed. We came about 10 minute early and they took us in immediately. The chairs were a little outdated but the service was good. Mask optional. I came in with my daughter and we both got our nails done. She's 6 and loves this kind of thing. She received gel nails however the very next day they ALL came off! They started to peel at the corner then they all just came off as she was playing around! I purposely asked for her to get gel nails because it can hold up, plus I had to pay $7 EXTRA for glitter gel nail polish. How did I hear about this place? The lady at the DMV! Yelp helped me to decide to come here. I don't have a specific nail place so I wanted to try this place. Called in a few days ahead for an appointment on a Tuesday at 3pm. Went to my appointment, thought I would be late but made it on time because there is lots of parking for the whole plaza. The space itself is small but doesn't stop them from the great service they provide. My friend and I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure. I went for a dark color pedicure and pink manicure as I can't wear crazy colors for work. Got to talking to I think one of the owners and she asked how I found out about that place and I told her about the lady at the DMV. She told me she let's the nail technician decide the designs and I really liked her nails when I went to the DMV. I wish I could do the same. I wanna go back one day to let them do a design on my fingernails! When I'm not working or heck when I feel like breaking the rules. I went to get my nails done for my trip and it was beautiful for my trip. Thank you for my beautiful nails. The owner is Nancy and she's really nice. But go to person is the sister in law Jenny. She knows that I like glitter and faded. She always take care of my manicure and the mother does my pedicure. If you want a good massage for your feet ask for Nancy mom. Your feet will feel so relax I promise. If you like Gel and glitter go ask for Jenny. She really good. If you have any suggestion like Pinterest she will do her best to follow it. I get all my ideas from you there and Jenny will try to mimic or do something way better. One of the worst nail salons I've been to in a long time. I just wanted a color change and called them to see if they have anyone available to do it. I got there and told them I only wanted a color change. After picking out the color the girl rushed to take off the polish using the drill and caused a big ding in my mail. The color change was $22 which I thought was a little high but I was already there so I just paid. If they did a good job I wouldn't have minded the up charge but this salon is the worst I've ever been to. No AC and the salon was very dirty. I don't recommend anyone to this nail salon. I've been looking for a good nail place since I moved to Aiea and found N&J Nails on Yelp. I came twice and both times were pretty satisfied with my nails. I did my usual, gel manicure and regular pedicure. This time, I got a male who did a surprisingly good job. PLUS his man muscles really got into that massage I literally fell asleep for those 7 minutes lol. The parking is good, the price was average, the selection was pretty minimal and basic (which is why I couldnt give 5 stars), the massage chair was great, service was great, cleanliness great, the music was great (they played 95.5 aka Jesus music ) and they weren't speaking in their native tongue which usually really makes me uncomfortable. Parking & Location: Tons of parking as it is located in Waimalu Plaza Shopping Center. It's the shopping center with Safeway. The nail salon is located a few stores away from City Mill. Service: From the moment I walked in, which was an hour before they closed (oops!) I was greeted by at least 2 people. I can't say I remember who helped me but I completely loved the pedicure massage I received. At first, I wasn't sure of the package I wanted and the lady who helped me didn't pressure me with the "you want that? $5 more" lines that I've heard at other places. She waited while I browsed their package menu. Designs and Color Selection: I'm a plain Jane type. Didn't go for any design or fades. I grabbed a single color with glitter (black with pink glitter) nail polish from the lineup near the door. I don't know the texture of the polish as I know there are matte selections and other gravel looking polishes (Mariah Carey by OPI...go look!) but the quality of the polish wasn't all that great. Mainly because I picked one that had little lacquer left. Oh well, looks like I just have to come back to check out consistency. read more
