I had to update my review. It's only been a few days since my visit but original issues have gotten worse. I complained about my acrylic set and I didn't notice how bad the nails were lifting right away. After wearing them for a day, my nails are in so much pain from the poor placement and gap between my natural nail and acrylic nails. Also I have to be vigilant about lotion, soap and water getting stuck between my nail and the acrylic nails. I tried to take pictures so you can see for yourself but they really don't show how deep the gap goes. This is unsafe and a health hazard. I also originally said that the pedicure service was good and I stand by that part of my original review. However, I thought my toe nail was cut crooked but upon further inspection I realized she missed a whole corner of my nail when she painted my big toe...so that was disappointing to see. I'm honestly so disappointed with how these nails turned out. I asked for a clean, simple French tip, but the execution is really uneven. The white tips are inconsistent in thickness, and some of them look wobbly instead of crisp and straight. The shape isn't uniform either, each nail looks slightly different. On top of that, the nail tech added black to my nails, which I never asked for at all. That was really frustrating because it completely changed the look I wanted. I paid $160 total for Gel X and a pedicure, and for that price I expected much better attention to detail. The only positive thing I can say is that the pedicure was actually very nice and well done. I paid expecting a clean, professional finish, but this feels rushed and not worth the price at all. I wish I could've gotten my money back. read more

I've tried this nail salon twice already. I went in for both a pedicure and a gel x set. My first visit was just for a simple gel x set (no design) and a pedicure. I was able to get my gel x set done the same time as my pedicure. It took them only an hour to get both done. My second visit I wanted to see how good they are with designs since I love designs on my nails. Again, they did my gel x set and pedicure at the same time. But had to finish doing my designs on the manicure tables. It took less than 2 hours to get everything done. I love how efficient and which they are to get things done. I hate staying at a nail salon for a long time and sitting for too long. Design wise - they did get the design I wanted on my nails but they don't pay attention to details. Most of the staff are very friendly and nice. Although, I've encountered at least 1 rude staff member but it's fine (maybe a bad day?). If you want a quick in and out salon then this place is for you. But if you are a perfectionist and like designs on your nails this place isn't for you. I've been here a couple of times for manis and pedis. Adore nails is more of a nail salon than a spa located in Pearl Kai. They are very busy on the weekend and more calm on weekdays. I like the vibe of this place because the workers are still very nice and kind even if they're busy. Even though their busy, they are really accommodating. I usually walk in and they're able to take me right away. But if you have preferences it's best to make an appointment. I appreciate the quick but good service I always receive when I come here. Tina gave me a really good basic pedicure and feet/leg massage while I was getting acrylic refill at the same time by Sam. I have been going here for two years and have always received decent service. But this week I had an unpleasant visit that has me questioning going back. I signed my son up for a Keiki pedicure and me up for a fill. I have never gotten him a pedicure there but I assumed Keiki was 12 and under. (My fault for not checking, it's nine and under). While having my nails done my tech asked how old my son is. I tell her eleven thinking she is just making nice conversation. Then she starts speaking to my son's nail tech in Vietnamese. I asked if there was a problem and if I booked the wrong service and she told me no, they were talking about something else. I then said I had no problem upgrading him to the adult and she just shook her head at me. Then when I went up to the front desk they changed his pedicure to the adult price after giving him the child service. On top of this my nails were super crooked and I had to ask three times to have them fixed after which I just gave up. And the tech filled my nail in with wrong color acrylic so they came out two toned. Overall I left feeling pretty bummed. I am giving it a three because in the past my nails were fine and the service was fine for the price. read more

I've come here for the past two years since I moved to Aiea but now it's probably time to find a new place. I've gotten a few good pedicures ( from dudes actually lol,) hence why I keep coming back. My nails look wonderful. I got the cat eye gel mani and gel pedi. I wanted a hibiscus design at first, but when I asked for it, the techs started laughing and speaking their language. Doesn't take much to tell they were making fun of the fact everyone does that when they come to Hawaii. I asked them if they have their own designs they'd rather do, but they said we'd have to share an inspiration pic. I was referred to this place by someone to have my nails done for my wedding. They told me to request Tom so I did and I saw them write that down in the apt book. When I got there, he was doing someone else's nails. When another worker sat down to do my nails I asked about it and they had him stop what he was doing to come do my nails. I feel like this irritated him because his of his demeanor. He was short and a little snappy. I asked for acrylics and they asked me if I wanted to do the dip powder cause it comes off easier. I said yes. After the wedding I tried to remove it myself but it was very difficult. I went to a different nail salon for help and she was amazed at how thick they were. She said he hadn't used dip powder but acrylic powder. It took her 9 times of soaking and wrapping and buffing my nails to get it off and she told me it usually takes 2! I did also have a pedicure done at adore and that was really nice and the woman was sweet. read more

Mix feelings about this place. I've only done pedicures here so this is just a review about it. Salon is fairly spacious and clean. They do use disposable covers for the pedicure bins which is important but I noticed they don't open a pack of nail tools. Does it mean they don't sanitize after each client? On a separate note, if you're looking for someone meticulous, ask for Tina. She has done a great job the last couple of times I've gone... I'm just unsure if I'll be back again. read more

I happen to look on yelp for the closest nail salon in the location where I was at. I needed to go back and pick up items from a different business. I made an appointment to get my nails done both hands and feet. I went to the salon and waited half an hour. They sat me and I waited in the chair for another 10 minutes. The last time my wife and I went to Adore was in March of this year. Yesterday my wife made an appointment online for 9:00am for both of us. Linda called back and asked if we could both come in at 11:30am. We went to eat breakfast at Oh My Grill next door, and went to our pedicure appointment at 11:30am. Linda and Tina worked on us and before we knew it, we were done. My toenails looked amazing and my wife's toenails and fingernails looked so nice, as we get ready for the holidays. My sister and I got gel manis here. She's been here a lot and swears by it so I had to take her word for it. I wanted a fall look, and my nail tech did deliver! I didn't want it super thick...you ladies KNOW what I mean...and this is the reason for the 4 stars. I had gold leaves under my gel, and the top coats were just a bit too thick for my liking. The overall look was fire, though! This salon is clean and well kept up for an older shop. Appointments are recommended but walk ins are accepted if they have space available. It's your typical nail shop with typical pricing. I should add that it's very well ventilated, and you won't smell nail polish the entire time you're in there. Find it in the Pearl Kai Shopping Center. Parking is always cray here, with slim stalls so be patient and eventually you'll find something. read more

I made an appointment with a specific tech but somehow my appointment got mixed up so instead Tracy and Ron took care of me. I wanted something nude but holiday-ish and they Delivered! Tracy did a gel extension with a nude color over, and drew a beautiful snowflake on two fingernails. Just stunning and so detailed. My nail techs were okay... it's just average and I hate it when I get a pedicure manicure at the same time and have to stretch my arm out to the tech. Wish they would've gave me a pillow or something... I was so uncomfortable. I don't know what it is... I always ask for ombré French gel nails and it never comes out right. Next time I'm gonna have to ask them to make it much more whiter tip. Or maybe I need recommendations to a good nail tech at this location. But I was in a bind and needed to get my nails done and this nail salon happened to be five minutes away from my apartment so the location is convenient. Came in after a year for a CALGEL on a Wednesday evening, with an appointment, and Holy hell, what an awful job! Looking at my nails now, a few days later, I should have gotten the gel-x like I normally do. The tech that did them filed INTO my nail bed "shaping the gel," and it's going to take months now to grow out that damage. On top of that, the shaping is not consistent at all and still VERY LUMPY, totally uneven surfacw and inconsistent. I booked a manicure and didn't get the true manicure part, so my cuticles still look awful. I get that they randomly got busy, but those with appointments come first. Complete the BOOKED APPOINTMENT, then move on. I just want the experience to be over! I also did not appreciate the side comments about CALGEL being for super long nails. Some of us like to take a break from gel-x and mox up nail products because it's better for your nail beds. I'll play dumb but come on, I understood you the entire time. Totally over priced compared to the online pricing for a solid color as well. If this was going to be the result, then I would have just done them at home like I have been the past year. I recently started coming here because my nail specialist Hana and her Mom Linda moved to this salon. Hana was introduced to me by one of my Besties years ago. The salon is clean and all of the workers are very friendly. It is bright and newly renovated and have many manicure and pedicure chairs available. I've been going to Hana for a while now. I love her work. She is quick and does a fabulous job. Sometimes I tell her to choose a design for me and she never fails me. She knows exactly what I like and has great ideas. My Mom, Sister, and nieces also go to Hana. She is the best and always does a wonderful job on all of our nails. If you're looking for a place to get your nails done. This is it and ask to see Hana. They did my nails beautifully! I called for an appointment the day of and got helped as soon as that time came around. I didn't book with a specific person like most people do so I was a bit worried, but obviously I shouldn't have been! The gel x removal from my previous set was taken off efficiently and my technician was very detailed on my new gel x application. They offer so many charms, powders, etc., that I just had to get a little bow. I paid $90 not including tip for a gel x removal, and my new gel x set pictured below. This surpised me because I normally pay $120 not including tip. I do recommend going in the morning or after 4 pm since anytime in between is extremely packed. Hate to give this place an average review but I've come here numerous times since it's in my area, it's clean and I like that they have a lot of nail colors. But on several occasions, my simple pedicure did not come out very nice. They looked sloppy and rushed. However, I still came back here cause of the convenience and price. Today I decided to do a gel manicure for the first time here. I was a little worried but I thought what could go wrong. I asked for a beige/nude chrome. The nail tech who did my nails was really sweet and nice but I could already tell she didn't know what she was doing. I've had chrome done many times elsewhere and what she was doing did not look like chrome. It was just straight up glitter on nails. I could see the other nail tech doing someone else's nails with chrome so I said I like how her nail is. The other nail tech showed my nail tech kind of how to do it but she still made it look like a bunch of sparkle/glitter on my nails. By the time she was done.. I think she could tell I wasn't satisfied with my nails. Thankfully another nail tech came around and took over. She unfortunately had to take everything off and start over but she was so kind and said it was not a problem. She could see that my nails were definitely not chrome. She fixed it right away and it turned out 100x better. I'm so glad I said something or else I would have walked out very disappointed. I have no problems with the staff as they were very accommodating and nice. I just wish the nail tech who originally did my nails could have just been honest about not knowing how to do chrome and had someone else do it. Instead I spent two and half hrs there (also got a pedi) for something that would have been an hour and half. I'm thankful for the nail tech that fixed my nails and did what I want! I think you have to know who is good there or you may walk out with a botched up job. read more

My boyfriend and I both got a manicure from this place for the first time. The service is a bit lacking. First of all, we waited for 15 mins after our appt time to be seated. Second, missing service as a normal manicure would include such as hand washing, hand massage. The male person who worked on my manicure did not even tell me I was done and did not even ask what nail shape I want. I was left sitting there. He was kind of rude and lack client interaction. My boyfriend went for a basic manicure and they charged more for "buffer and shine" service without telling us it's additional cost. Do not offer a service until you tell your client it's extra charge. This place is just any typical Vietnamese nail salon that overcharges without telling the customers. Never coming back.
