I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service I have received both before and after the purchase of my 2024 Cadillac Lyriq from Diamond Cadillac Palmdale, now operating as Antelope Valley Chevrolet. The experience has been fraught with errors, lack of accountability, and miscommunication, resulting in financial loss and considerable inconvenience.
The following issues are of particular concern:

1. EV Rebate Mishandling - $7,500 Loss
At the time of purchase in December 2024, I was told by dealership staff that I qualified for a $7,500 EV Federal Tax Rebate, to be claimed on my taxes due to the purchase price and eligibility of the vehicle. However, when filing my taxes, I discovered I was ineligible to claim the rebate due to the dealership's failure to submit the required paperwork to the IRS.
In January 2025, I contacted the Finance Department at Diamond Cadillac Palmdale. I was told the paperwork issue would be corrected and submitted by January 31, 2025. That correction never occurred.
I followed up again on July 8, 2025, and received a response from sales associate Bailey Rupe, who stated:
"I had my manager look into your rebate, looks like you bought it at a time where the rebate was able to be applied at the beginning of a purchase rather than claimed at the end of the year on taxes like we have to do now. He said your rebate has already been applied and there is nothing more you need to do. I hope that helps!"
This response is incorrect. There is no indication in my contract that the rebate was applied at the point of sale, nor was the purchase price reduced accordingly. This misinformation and lack of follow-through has resulted in a $7,500 loss.

2. License Plate and Registration Delays
Despite purchasing the vehicle in December 2024, I had not received my plates as of April 2025. I contacted DMV Desk Clerk Connie Castrutia, who confirmed that the plates had been mailed and provided a copy of my registration. This document showed that registration fees were not paid until April 1, 2025, well after the date of purchase.
As a result, I was unknowingly driving with expired temporary tags, creating potential legal liability and denying me the full value of the registration I had already paid for. My permanent plates did not arrive until June 9, 2025, and subsequently expired two months later.
When I followed up again with Connie, she stated that Diamond would cover the cost of registration for the following year. I emailed her on July 8, 2025, to confirm that this had been done. I received no response, and as of today, I still have no confirmation or record that the registration was paid.

3. Poor Service Department Experience
In August 2025, I attempted to bring the vehicle in for an issue with the air conditioning system, specifically that no air is blowing into the backseat. The Service Department was unhelpful, failed to provide any clear expectations, and informed me at the last minute that they would need my only vehicle for at least two days.
No loaner vehicle was offered, nor was assistance with a rental provided. This left me without transportation, despite the vehicle being under warranty and this being a manufacturer issue. The lack of courtesy and flexibility in dealing with such a problem is unacceptable.
