Came a few Saturdays back and opted on the prix fixe menu. Good price. $25? $29? Got the burrata to start. Came out within 5 minutes. I hate when I've had maybe 2 sips of a martini and my food is already coming out. Can't really drink a dirty martini with food. Maybe I should learn to wait to order at places but reviews here said food takes awhile to come out. Def not the case. The Parmesan cheese was a bit random (not needed) on top. Not typical with Burrata since Burrata is already a lot of cheese. Only halfway done with my appetizer and they were bringing out entrees which I also hate. Shrimp and grits for my entree. Decent flavor and a good amount of shrimp. A bit of a rubbery texture. Dessert I got the Beignets. Normally with Nutella injected inside the waitress said. I asked for caramel on the side instead. Come out hot which is nice but the flavor inside was terrible. Tasted like cardboard. Door/latch? was broken so we couldn't do the password to get in either which was a bit of a bummer. Playing random music. Not very speakeasy. Decor cute inside. Overall ok place. Wouldn't come back for food maybe a drink though. read more

Went here as an afterparty as recommended by our bartender and I will have to say that this place is exquisitely decorated with a modern twist. I did not get a chance to have food here since we went here for cocktails and drinks. I got a butterfly pea cocktail with lemon juice that changes color. In terms of presentation, for a themed bar I would expect a higher level of presentation and aesthetics for the cocktails. In order to stand out in terms of prohibition era speakeasy spots it holds its own but needs a bit more distinction. The drinks are quite pricey and I get that it is for the ambiance, but I've seen this theme done more cohesively at other speakeasy style bars even around Connecticut. Will need to come back during the day or for dinner service to get a full perspective. read more

Went here last night with some friends for the first time and we all loved the whole experience. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the ambiance was perfect and exactly what you'd expect. Drinks were delicious and the menu had good variety considering it's smaller. It was so very quiet and we were all able to talk all night without needing to scream at each other. For a Saturday night that seemed impressive. We will for sure be back. To the people frustrated by the price, you're paying for not only the food and drink but also the experience. If you don't expect to pay a little more than you should probably go elsewhere. read more

We did a vintage/'30s photoshoot at Dial 9 Prohibition Lounge in Southington. For starters, I had the Applewood Smoked Scallops. The scallops were cooked perfectly, juicy, plump, and delicious. The entree was the smoked duck, another great choice that held its smoked flavor. For drinks, the cocktails are expertly crafted, the Aviator and Side Car Hustle were spot on! What a fantastic idea! The atmosphere was amazing and the decor so fun! We sat at the bar and had impeccable service with friendly patrons on both sides of us! it made for some delightful conversations. The prices are pretty excessive. I'm not going to lie. We only had two drinks and the truffle popcorn and it came close to $40. Everything was tasty and interesting. I like their take on old school drinks My husband had the side car which he found glorious. We came.in here before going to a movie. The riddle was fun to get in, definitely more interactive than most of the speakeasies in CT. We sat ourselves at a table and someone came over soon after to greet us. We each got a drink: The Violet Spark, Huckle My Berry, and They Love Me, They Love Me Not. Every drink was good and beautifully presented. We didn't get any entrees but a ton of appetizers: the Dialed in Nachos with chicken, black garbanzo hummus, bruschetta, and the manchego frites. Portions were large and we thought we were going to have to take food home. The chef added an extra bruschetta toast because of the wait for the food, which was not long at all. The chicken on the nachos was exceptional. All of the food was very good. The only note I have is that I wish it was a little bit darker and the music is controlled by a touchtunes so some of it felt a little out of place for the setting. I have mixed emotions about Dial 9. My friend and I arrived early, 6pm, for cocktails and dinner. We were immediately sat at very nice table with comfortable velvet chairs. The atmosphere is retro and very intimate. There are candles everywhere! They had music playing but not so loud you couldn't talk. We both had martinis and they were perfect. We ordered the house made chips with blue cheese dipping sauce. For our meal I had the special. A spice rubbed pork loin and she had the gnocchi. Both were good. We asked our waitress for sparkling water and they don't carry any. So we settled for one regular water and one club soda. The waitress seemed to be getting overwhelmed by this time and never brought either. My pork was pretty spicy so I was a bit annoyed! We decided to try the strawberry crème brûlée for dessert and It was excellent! They have an old phone booth in the back to take pictures. We had Lots of laughs. My biggest complaint was by 9 pm the music was cranking! They had two bouncers walking around and the whole vibe had changed! There are no prices on the menu so I guess that's another element of surprise. We spent $200 for the 2 of us including tip. My suggestion is keep the swanky, chill speakeasy vibe and don't turn it into a club. My initial thoughts for this when they were advertising this was a low key prohibition period cocktail bar. When walking in it was anything but low key. I really liked the decor, the unique entrance made it almost seem like a secret club! And the furniture was all very antique looking. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. That's about where the niceties end. There are no prices on their menus so when ordering you're not really sure what you're getting yourself into. The drinks are overpriced, an old fashion should not cost $16. And some are even more expensive! Not to mention that they couldn't make some of our favorite cocktails. They seem to be more of a "On Menu" establishment. It was pretty noisy inside (I'm not sure if this is normal but when we asked the server it seemed that this was the norm), they have a bouncer maybe 2 which for a cocktail bar is not really a good sign. He was constantly looming over us and even took the chair from our table without even asking to sit down. Over all the experience was almost "tense" at times. To summarize, if you are looking to have some cocktails with a party atmosphere and can afford to spend money on overpriced drinks then this is the place for you! Staff was friendly and the environment was cool but there are no prices on the menu. I ordered a small charcuterie board that could be shared by (maybe) 2 people and it was $50. If they want to charge high prices that's fine but they need to put the pricing on the menu. The charcuterie board was a huge rip off. read more

Made a reservation but when we got there they said they were at full capacity, we mentioned that we had a reservation and showed them proof and said try back in a hour they were very rude about it. Don't give an option for reservations if you aren't going to take them. read more
