We have a 9-panel system for a 25,000 gallon pool.
    Michael S.

It was time to replace my roof and that involved taking down my pool solar panels and then reinstalling them. The folks at Diablo Solar, as always, were on the job with fast and efficient service. We were able to have the panels removed in the slower wintertime and reinstalled during late spring. In spite of being slammed with business, Brian G. and his crews worked hard to get me back up and going. This is our second uninstall/reinstall and the service hasn't slipped. We've worked with Diablo Solar for panel repair and replacement and have never had a complaint. I would recommend this local business without hesitation.

I provided the necessary information for my solar installation (including usage and current costs), but he was very combative when it came time to discuss my project. He refused to discuss a power purchase agreement, instead he tried to force an outright solar panel purchase, which I made clear was not an option. He offered no apology and no clear explanations about his actions. Free advice: if you are not interested in the job, just say so politely. Don't be rude, discourteous, and unprofessional.

It is late September 2024. And we just saw our latest PG&E bill. YIKES!…read more We got a random door knocker that came by to inform us about solar. I had previously talked to SunRun via Costco and am pretty nerdy, so I had done some homework by now. The door knocker talked about solar and battery storage and gave us a quote. That quote would be better than SunRuns. In my research about that quote, I found several reddit posts about solar and specifically Tesla PowerWalls and their pros/cons and service. One thing that kept on popping up was that the actual battery and system is great, the service and parts can be more miss than hit. But there were these Ask Me Anything posts from a guy named Jeff. He provided great advice to everyone. People with general questions, to people with problems to people that had just about had it with Tesla support. What I took away from that was that Jeff was a great guy, very knowledgeable and very open to helping people, even if they were not his clients. This is the kind of person that I be if I were to run a business and someone that I would want to support. I looked on yelp and found Jeff and East Bay Power Systems. All of the reviews there were pretty emphatic about Jeff and EBPS. I called EBPS and promptly was given a quote. Their number was very fair. So now we're nearly at the end of November and we get another huge PG&E bill. Couple that with the new administration coming in and not knowing if the solar/storage incentives will go away after the new year, I call up Jeff again and not only is he able to source a PowerWall, while other companies said they are all out of stock, Jeff said that if I signed within the week, he would be able to have us installed before the end of the year. We promptly signed and the wait began... All of a sudden, the previously non existent rains started to fall and our install date was getting pushed out. I started to get nervous as I didn't know if we would actually get this installed in 2024 or not. I was anxious about the incentive and would call EBPS pretty regularly. 5 days before Christmas and there is finally a open window. The skies have mostly cleared and it was safe for their crew to be on a roof. The install crew lead by Eric show up on time, panels are delivered and the battery is on site. By mid day, they are almost done. If not for things that were out of their control, they would have been able to complete the whole job within the day. It took them 2. Still, very fast and very professional work. Eric is a top notch installer and lead. Come time for the permit inspection, there were very small things that the inspector found which is pretty typical; those were subsequently rectified and we got signed off. In the interim, there was a hardware issue with the PowerWall. And almost to a T, the interaction went just as I had read so many times over and over again on the various Reddit posts. EBPS came out and did some diagnosis but they were not able to fix the issue that day. It really was a PowerWall issue. So I was told by Tesla, after nearly an hour on hold that they would send a Tesla tech out to look at it, but it could be up to 3 months from now. I kept in touch with EBPS and they were able to secure another unit. In maybe a couple of weeks, they were back out. They removed the old PowerWall and installed a new one in a couple of hours. If it wasn't for EBPS, I would likely still be waiting for Tesla. Just as many of the reddit posts said, it really comes down to your local installer and their customer service and their ability to pull strings over at Tesla. It was at this time that I really was glad that I went with EBPS. Because I got the Tesla PowerWall and gateway, it would be very easy to also install a Tesla charger. I purchased a universal charger and I had EBPS install that as well. That went swimmingly. Other than a few communication issues, and the timing anxiety that was totally out of their control, this has been as all of the other 5 stars have lead me to expect. I would absolutely use EBPS in the future and would recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

You can tell they take a lot of pride in the quality of the install--everything looks clean and is performing perfectly. If you're looking for an honest, reliable solar company that actually respects deadlines and treats your home right, look no further. Inquired about having my Solar system looked at due to no power to my inverters. Chris reached out…read morequickly to me and we set up a date for a tech to look at my system. Chris contacted me the following morning and advised me a tech was on the way. Tech Seng came out and looked at my system and started trouble shooting it. My inverters weren't on and I have a Tigo system. My panels were producing power but power wasn't being used by me. Seng was able to talk with Tigo and they informed us that 7 panels were down and over producing which in turn for safety shuts down the inverters. Tigo was able to shut those 7 panels down so I could still get power from the other panels and the inverters would then work. So power finally got restored and new panels would be sent to me to get installed. I also asked Seng to give me a quote on a separate plug for my ev to go off the solar breaker panel. Seng did a great job troubleshooting it and to get it back online. Wasn't sure on all the cost and estimates. Jessica the office manager called me and we worked out pricing for the install of the new panels (when they arrive) and the ev plug. They gave me a credit for the work they did today for the future work I will have them do. This is what I would call great customer service, both parties getting a great experience and reasonable.. I would highly recommend

There were all kinds of…read moresalespeople who came to our home on a monthly basis, and we just never had a real peace about being able to trust what we were being " sold", or told. My parents purchased solar from a HORRIBLE company that sounds a lot like 'SunFun'. After they passed away, and the house was sold...we were STILL making the monthly payments for over a year!!! That SunFun organization REFUSED to transfer the solar to the new homeowner, and eventually stopped taking or acknowledging our calls. It wasn't until we had to threaten the new homeowner with a lawsuit that SunFun finally transferred ownership. Due to this, we could not trust any of these solar companies...that is, until Kevin Bedard came to our home, and explained everything in great detail to my husband and I. He took the time to hear about our concerns, and he showed us how he truly cared. That same week, we spoke to two other families who shared their positive experiences about Ambrose Solar that made us feel that we would be in great hands. We had FINALLY FOUND A PEACE about getting solar on our home; KNOWING we would be in good hands, and we were ALL IN. It's been six months now, and we are beyond pleased with our solar panels, and the two Tesla batteries we have purchased. We are true fans, who have NOTHING but RAVE REVIEWS for this company. If you don't have solar, or if you need to add solar, Kevin Bedard is your man! and Ambrose is your company. Every employee has been amazing and helpful. In a world where customer service has taken a dump, this company has remained a class act. So again...if you are considering solar, call Ambrose, and tell them Albert and Rhonda sent you.

Any home renovation project has bumps, and this one had its fair share: after initial install they monitor the systems production remotely to see if it's doing what it's supposed to/expected to, and my system was initially under-performing. They caught it and sent out a team to problem solve it, which took a couple tries, but they didn't drag their feet, they kept on it and kept at it and got it resolved. It was no fault of theirs, just a technology glitch. Core fear was that they would give up after a couple failures and leave me following up with them to get it done, but I never had to worry about that. I also did not end up liking where they placed the control box- it was something that was going to make future maintenance of my house trim problematic down the line. They willingly moved it up a few inches for me (and my only complaint was the team that did that didn't patch the original hole as efficiently as they should have. If I had understood the box placement better on the first pass that would never have happened, so this is a bit of a complaint of my own making.) Jon Landsman, who sold me the system, stayed with us the whole time tracking the project, checking in, and following through on every detail, every question, every concern. He never made me feel like the demanding diva that I am, was always prompt and gracious! The bottom line is that start to finish, even with a few bumps in the road, I have zero question that this is a company that legitimately cares about doing what is right. The culture of deeply valuing customer service that they have built is unmatched by many businesses these days. I am SO pleased, and SO impressed, and I can promise that you will be too!

I also replaced my gas furnace with a heat pump, so our electric needs are significant. A new roof with complete tear off and new plywood is a big project. I started by getting a quote from Solar City but they weren't able to coordinate with a roofer. Their leasing agreement (aka PPA) also had some provisions that seemed pretty predatory. I don't remember if Solar Sesame cold called me or I called them, but I do remember that Marcel did a great job of explaining the process. I'm pretty knowledgeable about these kind of projects so I asked somre very detailed questions. When he wasn't able to answer them immediately, he didn't front, he just said he didn't know and called the office for better info. That's the best response. I was a little concerned that Solar Sesame used an outsourced the roofing to a vendor. But given the time constraints, that was a good decision. Also, the vendor they chose, Arts Roofing, was a joy to work with. They communicated well, and when there was a small problem, they handled it professionally and entirely to my satisfaction. The solar panels went up super fast and well. They system was generating power the as soon as the installers were done. Unfortunately, PGE took their sweet time getting the final inspection done. So PGE got some free kwh from the system. On the good side, we didn't start paying for the system until after PGE did the final turn on, so no problem for us. I monitor the system via the PGE site as well as the Tesla app. Those two systems match up perfectly so I am happy with the amount of power being created and sold back to PGE. Also, we had a short power outage in our neighborhood, and it didn't impact us at all. The only reason I knew about it was that PGE alerted us via text. I looked out my window and noticed that none of my neighbors had their lights on. Between Marcel (sales) and Mei (project management), I'm very happy with the end result and the process on this large residential project.
