As an adult, I keep track of my appointments and dont want to be infantilized. If you don't confirm an appointment by the time they want, they will cancel your slot and make you an 'anytime appointment'. I understand needing a schedule, but I really dont like threats. Additionally, they just didn't show up for an appointment they pestered me about and when i contacted them at 6pm, i got an 'oopsie' reply from a third party person who said i'd be contacted by the office. That was several months ago so.... All in all I just didn't appreciate how I was treated.

Where do I start... Just go somewhere else…read more 1. I should have known the company was shady when they came out to give me an inspection, gave me a coupon and then at the actual contract signing they didn't want to honor that coupon. I did get my way with the coupon on "total cost" but I didn't realize they went and changed the cost of "continuing coverage inspection" for the next year by the coupon amount. 2. I went over ALL the details I could with my limited knowledge of termite control with the technician before he even started. He assured me he had the contract with the details and that he would do the job as promised. Wrong. I didn't think I had to watch the technician like a hawk, but apparently I should have. He didn't trench the entire back side of my house!! How does that even happen? Apparently because he didn't know if with the porch that spans the entire back of the house needed to be drilled into or just trenched around. I wish I would have inspected all the work BEFORE I let him leave because I now have to take another half day off work to have this done. 3. In the package I was supposed to get, the technician was ALSO supposed to spray inside the house and attic. The did do some of the walls inside but he didn't do the attic. Again, I didn't think I had to constantly monitor all the application, but apparently I needed to have my own checklist that I went over at the end. Overall, terrible communication between reps (like the worst I have ever seen with a company that had graphs and the package details drawn out for each other). Also, I had to ask for management to contact me after I immediately contacted the regional office when I realized the job wasn't done and after the technician called me the following week to try to come back to do the job again. I'm honestly not sure if they even applied the termite pesticide around the full exterior of my house and this has left a VERY bad taste in my mouth. **extra information- my local pest control company charges me $125 less a quarter for routine pest control. Absolutely mind blowing that there is that big of a difference between the cost that actually would give me less pest coverage.

Once I read the agreement I found that I could not cancel and I asked right before they began servicing the property and they finally admitted after several back and fourth questions; that I cannot in fact cancel service within the first year. They are misleading potential customers and falsifying the legally binding terms of the agreement. Also they would not allow me to decline servicing the premises without the property owner being on site. They also said they do not caulk or seal to prevent bugs even though the representative over the phone stated that they did offer and include this service and even the introductory video said they would caulk and seal where needed. Without even inspecting the property the field technician Oscar immediately said they do not do that. I feel that I was mislead by Orkin, lied to by the supervisor, and the only reason I was not stuck in this agreement is that I actually read the terms versus going off of their word. This company is extremely fraudulent and misleading and we now understand how and why your rates are so competitive, you lie to trap customers into an agreement and then do not fulfill the terms or expectations of said agreement. I reached out to Rodent Retreat specifically because they are a local veteran-owned business, not a franchise. The whole team was amazing. I was able to schedule an inspection right away, and the gentleman who came explained different options to humanely remove the raccoon and prevent any other critters (including field mice and roof rats) from getting to the house. Based on the services I selected, they came back several times to repair the eaves, seal up possible points of entry on the roof and around the foundation, set rodent traps in the attic and garage, and sanitize the attic. Everyone I dealt with was incredibly friendly and polite, communication was exceptional, and pricing is very reasonable, especially given the high quality of service. We contacted this company for fleas in our home. It was the most unprofessional service we have…read moreever experienced. Erik argued with me constantly, telling me what I was seeing wasn't fleas(we had two types of fleas in our home--sticktight fleas and fleas from a wild bird nest our dogs had gotten into). When I asked him why I was still seeing fleas after he treated, he informed me by law he wasn't allowed to come back out and treat for 2 weeks. We eventually called someone else out(after our flea problem had gotten much worse), who informed us whatever he sprayed in our home wasn't even the right stuff for fleas, and the two week thing was a lie. So between the gaslighting me, awful service, and the tension he caused between me and my spouse I would not recommend using this company. The new guy I had come out told us we were the second customer he had gotten from this company that week for awful service, if that tells you anything. As for value, it was a complete waste of money, and I have no idea what this guy even sprayed in my home. Steer clear of this company!
