Great food. Loved the black bean burgers and gluten free buns. Hubby loved the Chicken Parmesan. Plenty of drink options too.

We enjoyed for dinner: To Start- Warm baguette with herbed oil, along with Naan Tacos (yummy) For Entrées: Caribbean Style Statler chicken (could've used a hint of scotch bonnet & ginger, but it was good), and the Common Burger (delicious) with matchstick fries. We were too full to try dessert. No worries, there will definitely be a next time. Enjoy! **Oh, I hear they are expanding due to the high demand. Reservations are necessary** Thank you

The main feature is locally sourced fresh ingredients prepared in an unusual way. I loved the crispy soy/maple salmon on a bed of hash consisting of brussel sprouts, potatoes and celery root puree. My wife Statler chicken was crisp and juicy. But you can also get incredible looking sandwiches. My eyes locked onto the cod reuben. How unusual, yet easy to understand. Entrees stay in the mid 30s, so don't expect a cheap night if you add an appetizer, wine and dessert. (Btw, ask to tour the wine closet). However, farm fresh food is worth it to me. The room is good looking and comfortable. It is a little noisy with all the happy people, but not too bad at all. I will be back. And I will bring my picky friends visiting from New York.

The food also exceeded our expectations. The fried brussels sprouts and salmon were both superb and perfectly cooked. It was all edible, but there were problems with every single thing we ordered. We started with the marinated mushroom & sausage flatbread: one of the better items and fairly tasty with a tomato sauce base, could have used a tart element like a balsamic drizzle to wake it up a bit. My husband got the Korean bbq burger, which at $27 was honestly a bit insane and doubly so when it wasn't good. There's not a single thing that was wrong, the whole conception is an epic fail. A beef burger should not have an intense taste of soy. Sorry, harsh but true. The exorbitant price is insult to injury. The ham and cheese croquettes should never have been offered with the cinnamon sugar dusting. Another bizarre pairing that makes no sense in your mouth and adds nothing. The dijonnaise was good if a bit mild... amp up the savory flavor and put more ham in the mix with a touch more salt please. Finally, the Public Salad was a good base but needs a bit of a vinegar component to make it sing. I'd recommend red wine vinegar, just a small splash in the dressing. Overall enjoyed it and the chicken was adequately moist. Thank you for having us.

Unfortunately, the way management handles pricing and customer concerns has become very disappointing, The issue is not with all the staff. Many of them provide very good service. However, there have also been times when service at the bar has felt rushed or dismissive, particularly on weekend evenings when one bartender appears more focused on closing customers out early than allowing regulars to enjoy their meal or drinks without being tabbed out before requesting such. That kind of experience, combined with the pricing issue, makes loyal customers feel like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. The bigger issue is the repeated nickel-and-diming of regular customers. Most recently, I ordered a small pizza that was half cheese, and half mushroom, onion and sausage. I was charged the full topping price price for each of the three toppings as though the toppings had been placed on the entire pizza, even though they were only on half. On top of that, I was charged an additional fee because the other half was plain cheese-even though a cheese pizza is already base pizza. That kind of pricing is hard to justify and makes the regular customer feel like every small variation is treated as an opportunity to add another charge. When I first questioned the charge, the bartender's response was essentially "this is how it rings up in the register". That did not address the concern. a register entry does not make an unreasonable charge reasonable, and pricing can be adjusted when something clearly does not make sense. I then attempted to raise the issue with the owner and was directed to the manager. When I spoke with the manager, the response still felt defensive rather than customer-focused. I was eventually handed $2 and told, in substance, that because I was a regular customer, they did not want me to be upset. The way it was handled made it feel as though I was the one being difficult over a few dollars. That misses the point. The issue is not the $2. The issue is that regular customers should not feel like every order is an opportunity to squeeze out another charge. Regular customers notice when small charges do not seem reasonable or transparent. This was not an isolated concern. On Mother's Day, we came in expecting the regular dinner menu after being told dinner would be available. Instead, we were given a holiday menu with options selected from the regular menu at higher prices - around $7 to $8 more per entree - without anything extra included. On another visit, we were told there would be a $4 charge for extra bread, which also felt excessive. I understand restaurant's have costs, and I do not expect anything for free. But there is a difference between fair pricing and making loyal customers feel taken advantage of. When a regular customer raises a reasonable concern, it should be handled with professionalism, not defensiveness. This restaurant has good food, a great location, and some very good staff. But management's pricing practices and response to customer concerns have changed my view of this restaurant. After years of regular patronage, I walked away feeling like the loyalty of regular customers are treated like another revenue opportunity.

The home made chips made it a nice combination. My son said his Zinky Burger was quite large and cooked medium as he requested. It included bacon, cheese lettuce and tomato. Quite gourmet. So it was with mild trepidation that I ordered the $26.'n change Prime Rib one Saturday at Zinky's, a Pub in Dalton. Just east of Pittsfield in the Berkshires. Apprehension misplaced. The place nailed me with a perfectly marbled medium rare prime cut. Baked potato and buttered and fresh string Beans. Lot of food, true, but so delicious and a fine slab of beef. I told my wait person it was as good as any I've had in Chicago or NYC -- everywhere. It is a pub. But pub grub this is not. Some sour cream and butter for that tater (NOT undercooked as found so often in today's casual dining world.) For real. For certain. For under $30.
