Host greeted & took us right away. Server took our drinks & we asked for a couple mins. Then it took 15 for a different server to come take order. We subbed bacon for cheese on our salad but it hardly had any. House ranch was pretty good. Ordered 2 pizzas. The chicken & caramelized onion pizza was tasty. The crust was chewy and good for hand tossed crust. The veggie pizza was a little light on the cheese as many spots had none. But good on the toppings. Sauce was spicier than we'd like, since we prefer a sweeter based sauce. Prices were a bit high for our pizza habits as Flavors didn't justify prices. Tandem service got better toward the end. I find it very difficult to write bad reviews. It's an awful task. But in fairness, I must. First, the staff and EVERYONE who works there are simply wonderful, wonderful people. They are kind, warm, accommodating and just really helpful. Sadly their pizza was one of the worst I've ever had. Really. It was that bad. There's no such thing as a "bad" pizza I once thought. Until last night. I ordered a pick-up pizza to take to my buddy's house for an evening of "catching up." I ordered a 17" Bronx Bomber, which comes with Red Sauce, Mozzarella, Pepperoni, Sausage, Mushrooms, White Onions, Green Bell Peppers, and Black Olives. I added ricotta on top for an added $3.50, and garlic for another $3.50. It was a 5-minute drive to my buddy's place, and by the time I got there, the pizza was cold. Frankly, when I picked up the box, it was barely warm on the bottom, which should have tipped me off--despite the fact that I got there early and waited for the pizza to finish. The pizza itself was undercooked--I mean, really undercooked. We had to put it in the oven at home to finish it off. There was barely any ricotta on the pizza. For $3.50, guys? Really? Come on! Seriously? They were somewhat generous with the other toppings, but they were all cold. The vegetable toppings were barely cooked. The crust was flimsy and was still white on the bottom. They must have forgotten to add the garlic, because you couldn't taste it at all. ZERO. I originally had Dewey's for the first time in St. Louis of all places, when I lived there (the one in Kirkwood). It was excellent. This was a huge disappointment. Frankly, Cleveland has too many other great pizza places to go back. Sorry guys, HUGE miss. Not worth it. And way too expensive for what I got. Very, VERY disappointing. read more

I appreciated the amount of cheese, but crust under the cheese and sauce was very thin and gummy, while thick and poofy around it..but no bubbles. EXCELLENT service, and not just by one person but by the entire staff. Empty plates and trash were cleared immediately, drinks were never let run dry, and everything looked and felt clean. Ambiance was nice, especially on a rainy night. The pizza was REALLY good; my husband said it's his new favorite. Candied Walnut Salad was fresh and delicious. I love deweys pizza. I like that they have this big window where they make the pizza and the staff making the pizza is really interactive with kids that are watching and they engaged with them and they throw flour up on the window. Where this place lacks is the front of the house staff. I went there last night with my family and I'm assuming he's the manager, super nice but he is doing everything. He is the host. He is running food. He's taking orders and he's picking up the slack of the waiters. He told a waiter get seven plates and push tables together and she sighs and rolled her eyes and he was just like it's OK. You can do it like talking to a child. She just stands there when she has our table ready staring at me and I'm like oh are you ready for us? And it goes further. I order wine, someone else at the table orders a soda. Those drinks are never brought to us. I had to ask the manager, so the manager had a comp that. And then we never saw her again the rest of the night no words nothing and the manager continued to bring our food and check on us and check us out and he's just a one-man show. 5 stars for his excellent balancing act. He never missed a beat. 5 stars for taste and kitchen staff smiles. 4 over all. Go hire some friendly waiters, please. read more

My family ordered the pepperoni pizza and also the chicken tomato jalapeño ranch pizza. My family ate them without complaining but I personally wasn't a real big fan of either pizza pie. I found the pizza's very pricy for the lack of ingredients on top of each pizza. I found the crust bland compared to other pizza restaurants in the area. They have a window where you can watch them toss the pizza dough. I myself would not order again but my family probably will. This was my first time trying Dewey's pizza. Parking is limited. Dewey's is our go to pizza take out. The menu has options for everyone and they'll do half and half. The green lantern is my favorite. The candied walnut and grape salad is also fantastic, same with the house. The service is always good when we've eaten there. Staff are friendly. They have some TVs if you wanted to watch sports there but it's not really a sports bar type of atmosphere. Parking is limited. read more

Can't believe this is the first time I'm trying Deweys as it's right down the street but my first try was pretty delicious! I chose delivery through door dash. We ordered a Buffalo chicken calzone as well as a pepperoni, meatball, banana pepper pizza. The calzone was amazing, it had a great spice level and the cheese with the Buffalo chicken was a great combination. The pizza in my mind was also good but a bit bland. I like their sauce and they put a good amount of topping on but it still felt a little blah compared to other Lakewood pizza options. Will be back to try more. read more

Looking for a quick takeout option recently, and forgot about Dewey's as I had not been there in quite some time. The service was efficient and friendly when I arrived to grab my pepperoni pie. The crust was slightly chewy, as it should be, but crisp on the bottom due to the wood-firing. Their sauce is a mix of savory and slightly sweet, but it tasted quite good. Went with friends for a meal- had the Greek salad, SW Chicken and Caprice pizzas. I ate some salad (not a traditional Greek, but fine), and Caprice, which seems to be their version of pizza margherita. It could work better- what we essentially got was a large piece of garlic bread with almost no tomato or basil (& what basil was there was shriveled to nothing due to being put on when the pizza was too hot). The amount of toppings on the other pizza compared to this one was at least double. For the price, I hope they can do better. read more

I brought my husband here tonight as a surprise for his birthday. We drove 1/2 hr in rain and rush hour to enter a restaurant with only a few tables and then not to get served after our drinks were brought. The customer service model is terrible...whatever server is free can provide service to a table, but then who is responsible for bad service or lack of any kind of hustle? We saw everyone in the restaurant (even those who came in after us) get served while no employee actually made eye contact with us or asked us if we were ready to order. On my way out one server said she thought we were waiting for another couple because I briefly sat next to my husband on his side of the booth. For our first family night out in Cleveland we wanted pizza so we drove out to a place we had seen the advertisement for in the hotel lobby. Once we arrived there, it turned out to be a dine out place only, we drove to the other one down the street, again it was a dine out only. At this point, I opened up my trusty Yelp app and started my search. I found this cool amazing place. As we walked up to the front door the smell was amazing. We then passed a little closet street door where they sold pizza by the slice to what seemed like an lively area of hoppingjumpingbumping thrilling bar hoppers. We waited about 25 minutes to be seated, the customers who were waiting before us were very nice about giving up their seats for us to sit. The atmosphere of this place was wonderful and pleasant to be around. The bar area was a little small but it served its purpose as far as having a quick drink while waiting for your table. The cool thing was people ordered their to go pizza and stood around the bar eating it right out of the box. They also had the place set up so you can see them preparing and tossing the pizza. We had a family size of seven so we ordered one of each size plus two large house salads. First of all, I've never had field greens, toasted pine nuts, dried cranberries, goat cheese, and balsamic vinegerett be considered a house salad, where I come from, this is an artisan crafted or some other new named way to change more money for it. Let me get to our pizzas! We got a Brox Bomber which is their version of a combination. This was delicious. All the ingredients were picture perfect. You could see the quality on each slice. We also ordered a standard pepperoni pizza, this again was pleasing to the pallet. Our last pizza ordered was the Green Lantern. Omg, more flavors to make your taste buds dance. The only thing with this pizza was I wish we would have gotten the white sauce instead, I think that would have been ten times better if that could be imagined. The crust was absolutely delicious! It wasn't heavy in the belly, it cracked and crunched in all the right places. The staff was great as well. We had more than one attendees making sure our needs were met. Oh what a fool I have been! I let one disappointing experience keep me from this place for four years! (To be fair there are a ton of restaurants to check out in NEO so even my favorites don't get visited that much.) Okay, so this is awesome if you are sharing a pizza with a date and you want different things, but it's even more awesome if you live on your own and want the variety without having to purchase multiple things cause that hurts your pocketbook and your waistline. (No one wants to see you naked if you're ordering 16 slices of pizza at a time just for yourself.) To be clear, this is not your basic pizza, it's like artisanal yumminess. *Porky Fig - fig jam, cheese, prosciutto, caramelized onions. Great sweet and savory combo. If anything add some arugula and balsamic reduction if you want to be extra. *Ryan's Inferno - buffalo chicken pizza but not as heavy. Loved the side of ranch that came with it. I dipped my pizza into this thin version which is way better than the thick store bought ranch. *Green Lantern - sometimes you eat things that are good, but it's just chew and swallow. With this pizza the whole time I was thinking wow this is so tasty, flavor explosion in my mouth. *Van Damme - this was a special they had consisting of basically garlic, brussel sprouts, and bacon. Not bad, but I was expecting better. I'd like to try their meatball pizza next and hope they come up with more unique combinations for pizza! My wife and I have been going here with our kids for a couple years consistently because of the gluten friendly pizza. We always let the kids look through the window and everyone has always been wearing gloves to our memory. Tothere was a young man not wearing gloves putting the cheese on the pizzas but everyone else was. I asked for the manager "Carla" who was obviously bothered by my question during a time when we should be understanding. When she approached the table she said "yea". Sick of cooking in the COVID-19 pandemic and Dewey's came through for us. You can order via DoorDash or call in for curbside pickup. My husband ordered via phone and he said they were super friendly. Quoted us 30 minutes and it was ready when we arrived! We picked it up curbside and called when we were there and they promptly brought our pizza out. We got a half and half 17" - Don Corleone for my husband and Green Lantern pizza for me.
