City Slice slaps. They are always busy, and for good reason: the pizza is excellent and a great value. The interior is a classic slice shop, with the addition of another room dedicated to arcade games. If you order slices they have at the ready you should be eating in about 10 minutes or less. Most times I go, I really only need one because the slices are the size of your head. The pizza is go good though that even though I only technically NEED one slice, I get two, or I convince my husband to split an extra. Recently, I got an order of garlic knots as well - they were great: soft and pillowy and slathered in garlic. My fair word of warning is that you need to order ahead if you want anything more than a pre-prepared slice. read more

I took a small group with me to try this place out. The prices are reasonable, the pizza is really good (New York style and we also ordered the Mega which was huge!), the staff is all super friendly, and it has a small amount of arcade games to keep you busy while you wait for your food. The parking is all free street parking but we went on a Saturday and we're able to find a spot. We had a party of 6 and took up a good section of the seating but we didn't feel cramped or anything. Just tried my first City Slice on recommendation from my neighborhood FB group. Does. Not. Disappoint. You really don't get a feel for how huge the pies and slices are until you're in person. I got 1 slice of pepperoni and it was excellent. Thin but sturdy crust, excellent ratio of cheese to sauce, lots of pep. A little greasy, like it should be. I can't wait to try the cherry pepper pie and an antipasto salad. I was delighted at the decor too. Nice and clean- bright and welcoming. I love the artwork. The ice cream parlor/ arcade/ dining room has ample space and looks like a great place to dine. Service was quick and friendly. City Slice is here to stay. read more

Don't expect to be in an out in a minute here, even if you order a slice, because they reheat the slice to roof-of-the-mouth-burning perfection. So don't grab your reheated slice and take a huge bite. Wait a minute and then stuff your face. Our party of five ate in and two of us enjoyed the arcade games. There is an attached ice cream place that appeared not to be open - but we were too full for ice cream so I'm not positive. I had never heard of Malta Goya (a type of pop), so of course I had to try it. It was interesting - tasted like slightly fizzy molasses water. I didn't love it at first, but it grew on me to the point where I'll order it again when we go back. I read that City Slice is thinking of opening a second location in Old Brooklyn, and I hope that's true, because that's where we're located. I'm a big fan of a New York style slice of pie, and for us this spot delivered. Came in on a recent weekend afternoon for a quick bite in between shopping trip stops. The crew behind the counter was hard at work making both full pies and slinging individual slices as well. My wife and I ordered two slices...one plain (gotta try the "real deal" to see how legit they are) and a sausage. Pricing is extremely reasonable and the slices are the size of, well, just look at the pictures! They throw our two gargantuan slices in the pizza oven (a pretty standard practice) to heat and crisp them up. As expected, total roof-of-mouth meltage on that first bite. Yowsers! As for the taste...pretty spot on I'd say. Crust was easily foldable, sauce slightly tangy and sweet and that ooey-gooey cheese you'd expect. We're fans and we'll definitely be back. As someone who loves NY style pizza, Lemme tell you this is the place to come for it. I had a regular cheese slice and the sauce to cheese ratio was on point. The crust had a nothing less than perfect texture to it. And they have beef pepperoni for those who do not eat pork. The staff is always friendly and respectful when I come here and to patronize. For the last two years, I have been searching for the best pizza in Cleveland. Well, if you agree that the best slice is NYC style, City Slice has got you covered. We grabbed a pepperoni and plain cheese slice. They're massive portions and on the cheesier side. Crust holds up well. We also ordered the garlic knots, but I suggest passing on those. This is a new place I heard about from coworkers. Apparently it opened in February 2022, so it's brand new. They advertise New York Style. Usually I get disappointed because it's rarely truly authentic. This was a great surprise! Very authentic, and the prices are great. Two mega slices (a 30-inch pie!) and two drinks cost a total of $10.50! It's a small space now but I heard the owner explaining to another customer that they are knocking out a wall and expanding, plus they have a patio going in, so should be quite nice! City Slice, however, has mastered it. First off, the value is incredible, as the slices are enormous and cut from a 40" pie, and a one topping slice is only $5.50. And, despite the size, the structural integrity of the crust remains intact: almost no flop. The crust itself, is perfectly crisp, and just the right thickness to hold the toppings. The sauce has a lot of flavor, and tastes homemade, yet City Slice does not go overboard with it, uses just the right amount. Also, met the owner while enjoying my slice, very nice guy. Very hard to see from Lorain, No parking, and worst of all, the pizza. Now I am a heavy critic when it comes to the perfect pizza slice, and after numerous people informed me of the opening I said AWESOME some NYC style pizza finallllly!...boy was I wrong. For one it's a pizzeria; there should be two tables max, there's clutter it's crowded and during a pandemic there was no sense of COVID protocol or mask requirements. I guess their edge is super jumbo pizza? But let's be honest in a more health conscious America do we really need that? $4 a slice was actually a steal so I'll give them a star for pricing. They didn't have garlic knots ready, so if I want a slice and knots I have to wait? It's not a grab and go type of place. They take your order and instead of just throwing your slice in the oven they make you wait and so it by like ticket which to me was weird but ok.... It's super crowded in the kitchen area, definitely an accident waiting to happen. They have plain. Aside from my rant about what they can improve on what you really care about is the slice right? Ok. To the pizza. It was HUGE( we established this), it was not even warm they put it in the oven for all of 2 minutes and throw it in a bag. Grease everywhere my cheese wasn't melted and I didn't get the good old fashioned top of my roof burn I had come to crave when eating my pizza. The sauce was bland, and it wasn't fully cooked. Because my cheese wasn't melted it literally came apart from the slice leaving me with a mess, an attitude and a bad taste in my mouth. The crust had no crunch and no flavor. All jokes aside it was probably one of the worst slices I've had in Cleveland... their approach was so genuine and I'm so upset the ball was dropped but then again maybe being a native NYer and a world class pizza eater I set my bar too high...if you smoke a blizzy or come late from the club the slice MIGHT do the trick but I certainly won't be waiting on a long non socially compliant line for subpar pizza again... read more

I also ordered pizza, also couldn't eat any because pepperoni was placed in same box as cheese and grease from pepperoni dripped and soaked through the papers that were used to separate them contaminating all of the pizza. I'm sad to say that I can't recommend this place. I stopped in on a weekday afternoon to buy a few individual slices for coworkers. It's expensive per slice (like $7 out the door with a tip for a large, thin slice). Although the pizza seems to be of good quality, it was not prepared with any attention to detail. One slice was about half dough with no sauce or toppings. On another slice the dough had such large bubbles that a significant portion of the crust was nothing but a burnt shell. There seemed to be a lack of quality control or just indifference to the product. I randomly decided to try them again on a weeknight... only to find the place inexplicably closed at 7pm. Did they already go out of business? Nothing can kill a business quite like not adhering to posted hours.
