I've heard about this place for years and finally made the trip for lunch. I love wings! It's a cute place, made for watching sports, drinking a cold one, and munching on wings. I had the garlic Parmesan wings, cooked perfectly and had great flavor. I also tried my coworkers medium buffalo which were okay, asian habanero were yummy a good kick of heat mellowed a bit by the sweet. The selection of wings to choose from is incredible. You can probably come here every day for a year and always try something different. My husband tried the Teriyaki wings which were delicious. They had such a great sauce. He also tried the hottest wings there. I have no idea what they are called. He liked them a lot but he was paying for them later that night and the next day! I tried the Maple Butter Bacon which I didn't like which is unfortunate. They were just way too oily for me. I guess that was a butter but just not for me. I tasted more of a butter flavor, than Maple Bacon and I was hoping for the Maple flavor. HOWEVER, The Jalapeño Cream Cheese wings which is what I also got were to die for. They are absolutely out of this world. They had just the right amount of heat and just the right amount of creaminess. They were definitely the best wings I ever had. It's good but I honestly have had better wings elsewhere. Sauces and flavors are plentiful. If there's ever a flavor you've wondered about, it's here! They even have dessert wings (we thought the s'mores ones was too rich last time though - some flavors just don't belong on chicken). We got the honey butter, hot and an order of mild. Meat itself is exceptional. Juicy, fresh and full of flavor. However, the wings are soggy without much crunch or crisp with the skin. I like a flavorful wing with a crispy skin. No crispy skin here. Maybe too much sauce? Very friendly service. Went on weekday for lunch. Can't imagine the crowds and wait time for dinner and during the weekends though. Only a few small tables and bar seating. Go off peak hours if you want to give it a try. Not much parking. Another downfall is cost. Very expensive. Burger, two 6 piece wings and a 10 piece wings was over $70. On recommendation from a handful of my friends, I figured it was time to pay Dew Drop Inn a visit to see how good their wings actually were. Parking may seem like a nightmare with a limited two-three spots next to the restaurant, but up the street to the left there's an entire lot, so don't fret. Also, since we're still in pandemic times, make sure you call ahead and make a reservation! This place isn't huge, so it helps to have that set in place so you can eat when you want to without waiting. I thought TK's by me had an enormous variety of sauces to choose from, but Dew Drop matches up with them and might even have more, especially in the experimental department. Sure you have your buffalo, your garlic parmesan, BBQ, teriyaki, etc, but they also do a specialty of dessert wings which was a first for me. Curiosity got the best of me and I sided with an order of mozz sticks, truffle oil and parmesan wings, and an order of the peanut butter s'mores wings. I knew what to expect with the first two choices, but was totally not expecting any sort of dessert wing to actually be solid. Who knew that chocolate, marshmallow (I believe it was Fluff), and peanut butter went well together with chicken? Totally unexpected, but would definitely give other dessert flavors a shot next time I'm back. Their beer list wasn't large, but the brews they provided were great, plus if there's anything from Bad Sons on the list, it's probably fresh since they're right next door. There is a reason why this place is so busy.... Cold beer, hot wings, friendly service and a nice vibe. I had the R.J. Rockers Son of a Peach and it was a great summer beer. The bartender also offered me a sample of the Black Hog Peach IPA (also great beer and kind of her to offer). The honey BBQ wings & Horseradish wings (don't knock them! I've been going to this place on and off for years. They have a bunch of craft beers and seasonal ciders on tap all the time and the wings are amazing. It's about 30 minutes from me, so grabbing a to-go order when parking is scarce isn't really an option. The last three times I went, I was rudely "asked" by the manager to leave because they needed the table. The second you ask for a box for leftovers, start a timer because they want you OUT. I want to point out that all three times I was at a small two-seater table and my drink was half-full still. My friend and I were chatting while I finished it up. The last time the guy had the audacity to look me dead in the face after we'd just dropped ~$160 on food and drinks and tell me I could take my food and my beer and stand at the bar and finish it there. That was when I decided I was done with the mistreatment and complete lack of respect and appreciation from someone in a position of authority there. We didn't dawdle and hang out for multiple hours, etc. I'd rather go to Archie's or drive all the way to Newtown/Danbury for wings. After seeing a ton of reviews my boyfriend and I knew we had to stop by. Parking is limited so try to avoid rush hour times. We walked in and weee immediately ID'd and told To have a seat at the end of the bar. The server grabbed us drinks and let us take some time to decide. We were really annoyed that we couldn't try multiple flavors in one order of a dozen wings .Its odd - especially for $17.99 a dozen. The server took our order and shortly after brought out our wings, it was a good 10-14 minutes before she even returned to check on us. I ran out of water and had to stop and ask. We had also asked for ranch and had our food 10 -15 minutes before getting her attention for that and a refill. The food was really Delicious but still service was not. From the outside, this looks like a standard Valley dive bar. I grew up in the Valley, and really don't mean that as an insult...it's just pretty nondescript from the outside and you expect to go in and just see a few locals hanging at the bar watching TV. However, when we went inside (mid afternoon on a Sunday), it was jammed!!! Every table filled, people waiting everywhere. My only complaint would be that on my first time, it was hard to figure out what to do as far as putting my name on a list or just grabbing a table as it opened. But my husband went up to the bar and asked and we got on the list. We got seated pretty quickly, I think it helped we were a table of two, they seated us at a shared table in the back with another party of two (but with a couple seats in between us). They have a pretty good list of craft beers, but they do have other beers too. They didn't give us a list of those, you just have to ask what they have on tap/in bottles. They brought our drinks very quickly, and we took some time to figure out what wings to order. Several of their appetizers sounded amazing, but we were there for wings and planning to order 3 orders of 10 so we could try more flavors, so there just was no room for apps. Maybe next time. One of the servers mentioned that they had recently closed for renovation and when they reopened, they had several special wing flavors to add to the menu. I counted them all up, 117 flavors of wings in total. How do you choose? I read reviews, asked friends who have been there in the past, asked the servers...everyone has a different favorite, it really is personal preference. So for our first two flavors we tried core stuff that we know we usually like. I opted for Honey Hot BBQ, and my husband got Spicy Asian Glaze. Then we threw in Peanut Butter and Jelly wings for a fun third selection. It took a while for the wings to come out, but they kept the drinks coming, so that was good. When they arrived they looked great. Large wings, heavily sauced, they remembered my ranch in addition to the blue cheese (that seems like the hardest thing for most people to remember for some reason), so I was happy. They also serve the PB&J wings with fluff, which is cute (and tasty)! Quality of the wings - amazing. Cooked perfectly, nice and crispy, just how I like them. Plenty of sauce. But I think I was a little disappointed in our sauce selections. I like honey BBQ and this was fine but was not "hot"...similarly, the Asian glaze was not "spicy." So I guess unless they show a pepper (or more than one pepper) next to the flavor, it's probably not spicy, regardless of the name. I didn't really like the Asian glaze, too sweet/gingery for me, there was just something about it that I did not personally like. But my husband loved them. The PB&J was okay. It's not the first time I've had that flavor, and the other place I had them did what I feel was a better job of incorporating PB + J together into a sauce that was equally distributed on the wings. These had peanut butter on them, and then globs of grape jelly on top. Like, big chunks. Not easy to eat together, and we had no utensils so I was grabbing globs of jelly with my hands and mushing them on top of the wings. Not my most graceful moment, but eating wings never usually is. I liked that they came with fluff, that was a nice touch. But I probably wouldn't order them again. Service was AMAZING. We didn't have one set server, all of the servers were running around helping everyone. We always had someone checking on us and everyone was super friendly. So...I will definitely be back to work my way through the other 114 flavors that I did not get to try on my first visit. Wings themselves are definitely some of the best I've ever had, so I just need to find that "WOW" flavor for myself and I'll be golden. I would also like to try some of the apps and the burgers looked great too! For those who mentioned bad parking - when you pass the restaurant on your right, continue up about half a block, and on the left there is a street, turn there and there is a parking lot right on the corner. It is very large and has ample parking. You need the walk to work off your drinks and food...so just park your car there, walk to the restaurant, and don't complain about it! :) read more

My boyfriend told me about this place when we first started dating.... FIVE YEARS AGO. Finalllly we came here about two weeks ago and haven't stopped talking about it since. I've told everyone. I live for wings and the dew drop did not let me down. At all. We ordered the spicy ranch bacon wings and they were the absolute best wings I've ever had. I couldn't believe how crispy they stayed with all the ranch and bacon goodness loaded on top. OH and I didn't even have to tell them I wanted them fried hard, they came already super crispy. I was born in Griffin Hospital in Derby, Connecticut. Derby is the smallest city in the State of Connecticut. I have loyalty to Derby and I have found two hidden gems in the small city. One is Roseland Apizza and the other is the Dew Drop Inn. My first visit was Saturday April 19, 2014. I was researching different burgers in the New Haven Connecticut area and Dew Drop Inn was listed as ones to check out. The first burger I tried was the Rodeo Burger which is described as "Cheddar Cheese, Onion Rings, Bacon and BBQ Sauce. On my second visit I had the Blue Goat which is described as "Goat Cheese, Cucumbers, Mixed Greens and creamy blueberry dressing". On both visits my hamburgers were cooked exactly as I specified them to be, well done. I want them as hockey pucks and Dew Drop Inn delivered. Prime 16 in New Haven is still my favorite burger place but Dew Drop Inn deserves an honorable mention in the category. On one of my visits I brought my girlfriend from Ireland with me. We both shared the Fried Mozzarella Sticks and Jalapeno Poppers. Both were good and we both enjoyed them. I told different people about my three visits to the Dew Drop Inn. The one comment I constantly heard from different people was "you haven't tried their wings yet". On my fourth visit I ordered the Cajun BBQ Wings. I haven't had wings in years. I love the taste but they are messy. You do have to use your hands and sometimes lick your fingers. My mom would be horrified. The staff reassured me it was okay to be messy. Since then I have had the JD BBQ, Jim Beam Bourbon BBQ and General Tsao's wings. The Cajun BBQ Wings are my absolute favorite followed by the JD BBQ. Jim Beam Bourbon and General Tsao's tie for third. All these wings I have tried are phenomenal. This is most definitely a wing place. I overheard the owner talking about different craft beers they have. Craft beers are growing on me however I still prefer a Guinness with a shot of Jägermeister the best. The staff at Dew Drop Inn are excellent. I like the customers. Some of the customers can be load when they come in but will also say excuse me if they accidently bump into me on the way to the bathroom. One time there was this nice couple who brought in bread and was insistent that I had a piece. I am giving this place 4.2 stars. The only two drawbacks. One is the place is small and gets crowded very quick. The second is parking which seems to be limited which. These are the reasons why I try to arrive about 11:15 on a Saturday for lunch. They keep great beer on tap unlike most other bars in the area who only offer a wide variety of bud light, miller lite, and other beers that taste pretty close to water. Monday night is 1/2 price wings, and they are absolutely awesome! The Drop offers a large variety of different flavors, including some very unique ones such as Peanut Butter and Jelly! The wings are big and meaty! No skimpy crap here!! Tuesday "home style" night features a different entree every week. Thursday nights is their rib eye steak night! The steak always comes out cooked to perfection exactly as you ordered it, and comes with a side of mashed potatoes and honey glazed carrots.
