I really felt like I could have just painted them myself. The gel polish is see through in some areas, bubbly, and is messily done. Not sure if this was a one off but I was pretty upset when I finally looked at them up close. This photo was taken two days after getting them done. I had an awesome pedicure here done by a male. I had a regular manicure scheduled at the same time and was transferred to Sarah. She suggested acrylic tips which I approved. I left happy after the initial application with cherry design. Unfortunately, they started lifting on several fingers by week 2. I went back for a fill week 3 and it was an AWFUL experience. She advised she knew how to fix the minor lifting. Ok, no problem. However, she over drilled and left my cuticles red and burning for a few days after. I walked out of there feeling the throb from the drill. Her design this time was poorly done. They were short staff and someone was waiting for her to get a pedicure, so maybe that's why? There is no excuse for the over drilling though. I went elsewhere for a fill and she acknowledged the damage and lifting (again) without me mentioning it. If I could rewind I would try the tech here that came recommended to me (Patrick or Franklin, I believe).

I will always recommend this place to anyone who asks. The gorgeous salon with a beautiful interior is filled with some truly generous nail artists that have great talent. Recently I went to another salon while I was out of town and was severely disappointed in the product I was given because it was no where near my standards that have been set by J&V Nail Spa. As soon as I came home I went here and asked if they could save me and I left with the most gorgeous nails I have ever seen. I was in town for a wedding & walked in to get a…read morepedicure the morning of the wedding - I chose the $64 pedicure (they have different tiers) which included several services including a callus treatment, 9 min massage, multiple hot towels etc. none of which were received. There was no massage, no scrub (my heels are still rough) and only one hot towel. On top of that the nail tech scrubbed a blister completely open after I specifically asked her to be gentle - to the point where it was bleeding. There is also a $25 up charge for gel & $15 up charge for French tips (which were uneven). I would never argue with a salon's pricing but I did talk to the manager, asking to be charged for a lower tier (basic) pedicure since I didn't receive the services listed on the one I chose. He called the woman to the front and she basically lied and he said he would check the cameras but could only offer me a 10% discount. I refuse to not tip, so I still tipped but was very disappointed with the whole experience and the quality of the pedicure. SAVE YOUR MONEY & DRIVE TO A SALON OUTSIDE OF DT CHARLESTON.

Then, it was time to get my nails done and I went to the chair and had to sit for a few, someone else started taking my previous polish off. Once the nail tech came, she did a good job on my nails. When it was time to pay is when I got confused. She charged me extra for having "long nails", maybe it's me thinking my nails are a medium length. Joseph did a nice job on my feet with this basic service. Short sign-in at front desk and led to a massage chair and bowl. Back home I'm offered a glass of wine or fruit and a refill is $45!
