I had a pedicure appointment booked with ClassPass and it took 30 minutes to even be seated. While they were taking off my old polish the machine kept burning me and I would flinch and tell the worker and she seems annoyed more and more each time. Now over an hour and a half from my appointment time and my nails are still not painted. They are also very limited with what colors they have. Unfortunately, I was taxed with heavy patients at the hospital and I accidentally broke a little bit of my thumbnail just a day later. I couldn't come in until 5 days after my last appointment. Stella's not only replaced the dip powder on my thumb but the tech ALSO noticed two of my other nails weren't perfect sooo he fixed those too!!!! Volcano pedicure was so worth the extra. The hot towel wrap over my calves with the moisturizing lotion was divine. It takes a little extra time, but well worth it. I enjoyed a glass of champagne while the magic happened. Our technicians were helpful in making color recommendations and selecting services. My teenage daughter had lots of ideas and needed help narrowing it down. This Stella Nails location is pretty large and spacious. Pedicure chairs were in great shape and my massage chair worked great. They even have a private room in the back for parties or just more customers. She burned the F out of me with the spinny tool. Almost every single finger is burned and bleeding. Along with that, half my nails are rough in areas like the gloss didn't stick to them. The worst part of all of this is that they are so unsanitary. She pulled hangnail clippers out of her drawer that had leftover skin in them and then used them on me. I also had an open cut on my thumb and she dipped it in the dip powder and touched it with the brush. Their pedicure stations did not have bags in them, so everyone's feet are touching the same bottom and we didn't see any of them be cleaned after someone used them. I've never had a bad experience before and am by no means an expert, however this pedicure from Stella Nails was extremely painful and the service didn't cover everything in the description. No massage was provided even though it was clearly listed as included. The person doing my pedicure was inexperienced and ended up digging too far into my cuticle and now my toe is infected just a few days later. I made an appointment for Sunday. 30 minutes before my appointment as I was on the way to the shop I got a text saying the tech China wasn't coming in can I book later in the week. She sent her private booking info. I was a little frustrated about that but she had such good reviews I just agreed. She asked can I come back tomorrow, why? So you can waste more of my time? She seems like a sweet girl and she was very apologetic however this type of unprofessional conduct is just disrespectful of peoples time. Stella Nails has been open for about a week. I'm in search of a new nail salon in West Ashley and decided to check them out....it didn't hurt that they have a banner above the door indicating 20% off all services. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the receptionist. She asked what services I was getting and offered me a drink. She handed me a small laminated drink menu (a great feature) which includes wine, mimosas, coffee, water, juice, cappuccino, and tea. Inside has a modern feel. The walls are grey. The decor is simple with touches of silver. There are TVs on the walls behind the pedicure stations. They have more manicure and pedicure stations in a back room. They also have a private room with two pedicure chairs. I waited about 20 mins or so which is to be expected on a Saturday but they seemed understaffed. I only noticed three employees providing services. Angela was my name tech. She was super sweet. We chatted a little but not much. I decided to go with the deluxe pedicure (since it was 20% off and all). With the deluxe pedicures, you can choose your scent. I was a little disappointed they didn't have lavender even though it was listed on the menu. But it was no big deal. The pedicure didn't feel rushed. It's quite annoying when nail techs rush through services so they can move into the next person. When it came to my nail service, she took her time filing the nails to the right shape and polishing them. I wasn't too happy about the $8 charge for "special nail shape"--I didn't think the shape was anything out of the ordinary. I've been to plenty of salons, and I can only remember paying extra once. They also offer a loyalty program where you accumulate points for every dollar spent. The amount of points and discount you've earned is listed at the top of your receipt, which is helpful. My husband watched our son on a Friday, so I could meet a friend for an appointment we booked the day before. We both got Pedi's and she was got gel redone on her nails and I got powder on mine. Our appointment was for 5:30pm. She was there a few minutes early and had already picked her color, had mimosas waiting for us and was just sitting in her seat when I arrived. I then picked my color(s) and joined her. We both have baby boys, almost 7 weeks apart and this was the first time we'd hung out without children in a loooooong while. Her nail tech started massaging her immediately. We got to talking but I kept glancing at my phone because time was a ticking.... I was getting nervous because my husband had to go to work later that evening. I told him before leaving that two hours was ample amount of time to do both pedi and nails, so I asked her guy if someone was coming. It was now 6pm. He kept using his blue tooth and told me yup. I said a half hour already went by and he said someone would be there soon. There was another girl and guy there cleaning and they kept walking by every few minutes smiling. It kind of made me feel uncomfortable. There were only two other people there and there was nothing to clean... lol! At first I thought it was one of the two who I was waiting on, but neither one came. 40 minutes now go by, he's still just massaging her feet and legs and my feet at still just soaking. Which at this point I pulled my feet out and text my friend stating my feet feel soggy and that I am trying to have a good time but this in unacceptable and I am pissed at this point! She said she couldn't believe he was still massaging her, but we both knew it was because no one was there for me. I then ask the guy again and reminded him that we had an appointment and he called someone again and said she would be right here.... A girl walks in literally an hour after our schedule appointment time and starts rushing through. Now I'm pissed because an hour was just waisted and though I want to get it over with, I remind her that I my friend just got a now hour massage and though I don't have the time for the same (joking, not joking) that I was expecting her to at least do the normal services I'm paying for. The color and the look of my nails are great however, my husband waited and hour (from 7:30-8:30) in parking lot. It took THREE hours!!!! Including the hour of me just sitting there. They then charged me full price and I didn't even get a sorry, that someone messed up, or that they were new or understaffed or anything. It is pricier than where I normally go but I was excited to venture out and try a new place, but man.... was I aggravated! It's two days later and I'm still aggravated thinking about it. I'm a new momma now, so I don't get many times to myself and I can ensure this was not the way!o In response to business **Constructive Criticism hah! Okay how about have enough technicians to handle your booked appointments! Or an honest staff! I asked multiple times and kept being told someone is on their way while my friend got an hour foot massage because he didn't want to start her without my person there. He probably could have done the both of us back to back in that amount of time.... listen I've worked in many different places and have done many different things in my 30 something year and I am totally one to support local establishments but this is no excuse! You don't have someone wait and hour for their appointment on their first time checking your local establishment out! And in regards to your cleaning crew. I loathe when nail salons do this- they say they have time for you and still make you wait. Why lie about your availability? No different then a restaurant taking your reservation and not seating you on time. I called at 4:45 to see if they had time for a pedicure and that I would be there in five minutes. After a short pause they said yes and I said I would see them soon. I did arrive about 455, no one greeted me, I walked in looking confused and someone finally looked up and told me to check in at the iPad. I don't like having to put my phone number in which it forced me to do and told me I was fifth in line however I didn't see anyone else waiting. It's a big place so I walked around for a minute before a customer pointed out the bathroom to me rather than an employee. When I went to the bathroom there was half a roll of toilet paper, no hand towels or hand dryer and it was a mess. When I walked out I saw an employee sitting in the back scrolling social media. I walked around again looking for the correct polish before an employee brought over the samples and set me up with a cold foot bath. After five minutes of sitting there I looked around and saw that the three nail techs that were working we're definitely not going to be finished within the next 15 minutes at least. I sat in the footbath for a full 15 minutes before drying my feet and getting up. When I went to leave one of the techs just said "hello?" and let me go. I expected better since my friends visit the other Stella nails locations with praise. I may still give the other ones a chance, but will try the nail salon across the street first. read more

Well, Unfortunately, I will never go back. I was in the area so instead of going across town to Veda nails, which I prefer, but I was in a rush so I went in & they were able to get me in right away. Awesome right? Tuh! Yea right! The nail tech, Ezna, was a sweet girl but she took her time and took forever. I was in there from 3:30 to about 6:15 just for dip removal, dip with tips, and polish change on my toes. Now, she did a good job until that same night my tip nail chipped and I went back & got it fix the next day and now only 3 days later another nail chipped! Ugh! So, now I have to find time out of my busy schedule to get my other nail fix bc I paid $55 for dip and it was not worth it! Besides, it's the Holidays, who want to walk around with a chipped nail that they only had for 3 days??? I've been getting dip with a tip for over year and IVE NEVER EXPERIENCED MY NAILS CHIPPING! Had an appointment at 4:45 for 3 manicures and 2 pedicures. Chose this place bc our appointment seemed legit unlike most places but was anything but. This is the WORST manicure I've ever had and I've been getting SNS for over 3 years. I recently moved back to CHS after 10 years so Ive been looking for a good salon. First of all, the health inspector should pay a visit because I had dirty files used on me. There were 3 people working and 4 people in the salon. The salon had dirty nail dish and fake nails all over the floor. I wanted to get up about 6 times throughout the service and leave- I don't know why I didn't. I will never go back here. - dirty files -I was burned because the electric file she used (with a dirty tip) was on such a high speed that it burned me. - my nails weren't prepped at all, just filed to hell with the electric file. - after the dip, she rushed so much that you can see the file marks and discoloration of the dip on my nails making them look horrible. - I paid more for this dip service than I ever have before which is insanity to me read more

It's part my fault for not checking the prices, but I honestly didn't expect it be so much!!!! Oh. Oh. And I'm crazy allergic to florals and parfum, they cause skin irritation, 98% of the time it's not a problem because lotion that is generally used is some form of hypo-allergenic and/or not scented. Not only is that not the case here, BUT I GOT A LEG WAX TOO. 20 minutes after the lotion went on my legs to when I got home, I start realizing my legs are basically on fire and reek of chamomile, so right now I have to chose between ruining my $37 pedicure, or suffering for an hour until the polish is dry and I can wash my skin. Just moved to West Ash like 3 weeks ago and was in need a good nail spot. I came across Stella Nails, which I think I had gone too a couple times over on the Ladson/Dorchester side? I might be mixing up locations but I know for a fact I've gone to one before. Anyways this one just opened, I was coming in on a Friday after work no appointment so I assumed it would be packed...but nope walked in was welcomed immediately. Staff is very friendly, they offer you water and such from the get go. Also the design is sleek, everything looks clean, very calming. They have nice TVs on, no volume though so if you're someone who prefers music you might want to bring your headphones. I got a pedi and color change (gel) my technician was Jessica I believe? She was great, very gentle with the pedicure. I've been getting these things done for years no on the reg diff salons and some technicians are way too rough it's torture. But no she's great, you can tell her what you want and she will actually listen. My nails feel and look great. The manager was very friendly as well, the pricing is a bit pricey but if you're comparing it to others...it's worth the environment/service. I typically just do walk-ins cause they say you can. And every time I have walked in my nails come out looking good. I always recommend this place for people looking to get their nails done. Now, these last two times I've gotten my nails done, I have one thing to say, DO NOT get your nails done by Leo. Both times that he has started my nails...that's all he did...start them then pushed me on to someone else to finish my nails the moment someone else walked in to get their nails done that he knows. BOTH TIMES HE HAS DONE THIS! The first time I had an appointment. This last time no. Sooo it's not about appointments. It's about the nail tech deeming someone else more important than their current customer. And that's exactly what Leo does. Now, in defense of Stella Nails, plenty of times I have walked in got my nails done by Kathy (the GOAT), and she had another appointment walk in. Kathy finished my nails before moving on to the next person! SHE FINISHED THEM! I got dip and I was really excited as this was my second time at this salon and my first experience was great! I had dip on when I got there and instead of using the cotton and tinfoil method to remove the dip the tech put my hands in a bowl of acetone for 10 minutes while she went to the back. She started doing the dip and it was messy. The sides were zagged and it was very clumpy. She said she would fix it but in my opinion they are still clumpy. My clear coat started peeling as soon as I got to my car and all of my nails have a rough spot from where she missed the clear coat. I went back in and had another tech put another layer of clear coat on it but they still aren't great. I felt that this place was way overpriced for the product I got.
