I have gone to this nail salon for a while and I have never been disappointed. My sets have always lasted forever and are some of the highest quality, prettiest nails I've ever seen. I will always recommend this place to anyone who asks. The gorgeous salon with a beautiful interior is filled with some truly generous nail artists that have great talent. Recently I went to another salon while I was out of town and was severely disappointed in the product I was given because it was no where near my standards that have been set by J&V Nail Spa. I had some extra time yesterday and some very sad feet so I decided to try out Allure and see if they had any openings. I was able to walk right in and was immediately helped by John. He was pulling double duty as shop manager (letting people know where to sit and how long the wait was) but juggled managing and taking care of me without any problems. The location filled up quickly shortly after I got in and there were a handful of regulars trading stories with John. He made sure to loop me into the conversation so I didn't feel ignored or left out. I got the mid-range pedi ($58) which actually took a decent amount of time and I left looking great and feeling refreshed. No stars absolutely disgusting. Acted like my friend and I were intruding on their time kept stopping to text , making comments in Vietnamese, very hurried although it was empty and Sunday. Asked for a particular color so young girl bought out completely diff one. Asked for different color and three times she said " no don't have". There were clipped nails all over the floor and the chairs were filthy. The instruments were all dirty and the nail dryer smelled bad and was covered in polish and dirt inside. Extremely rude and disrespectful, did as little as possible, no hand massage no offer of even a drink of water. Very dismissive and annoyed that we didn't go with the wrong colors they bought out. Lot of sighing and eye rolling. Worst was the filth and used towels and clippings and skin all over. Had to shower as soon as I got home. Never again and nobody I know will go either. read more

I was leaving Whole Foods to get my nails done at my usual spot when I noticed a sign above Allure Nails offering 20% off services totaling over $100. I had been there before but never been back because I had better mani/pedis elsewhere. Since the sign said it was under new management, I decided to try it again. I got a gel mani/pedi for a wedding I was going to in Guatemala. My nails looked great when I left. She even fixed a toe nail that had "split". Two days later, the polish started to chip. My nails didn't even last long enough for the wedding. Maybe that's when 20% off gets you, but I will not be going back. I'll stick with the salon I was originally intending to go to. read more

I wanted to love this place. I came in around 11am on 10/13/21 to receive a basic gel manicure. The reviews I read prior to walking in were great. I am the LEAST picky person when it comes to my nails... I get them done every once in awhile when I feel like treating myself... I never usually have issues, but this time I did. The gentleman who did my nails was not friendly. The utensils he used marked "cleaned" were visibly dirty. He rushed through the whole process.. I was in and out in about 30 mins which might seem great, but he did a terrible job and clearly did not take his time. My nails have bubbles in them from not being dried properly due to him rushing and two of them have already started peeling off on the second day??? See pictures. I got them done prior to a trip I am taking this weekend and I don't have the time to go back in and get them fixed. I am not pleased with this manicure job at all and I will not be returning. The only reason Id give the salon five stars is because of Jay and his wife. He is the best nail tech in Charleston and his wife is also amazing at nails and they just moved over to the salon. I am relieved that Jay makes his own appointments at the salon because I will not be calling them directly anymore-- Not only because the receptionist made me feel as though I was inconveniencing her when I called requesting to make an appointment. I must caveat this review by adding that rarely do I make reviews unless the service/experience was so extraordinary or incredibly terrible. At best, the other staff members nail skills and customer service is lacking. When I told the other nail tech that I was not happy with my gel pedicure, I immediately became the new Vietnamese laughingstock. I say Vietnamese laughingstock because I was no longer spoken to in English when I mentioned my toes were smudged, uneven and the gel was already peeling off. That made me feel very uncomfortable. At one point I was ganged up on by multiple technicians who were asking me what's wrong after I clearly told the manager (I think that's who she was). At best my toenails still look sloppy. I was also charged full price on the pedicure after the traumatizing experience. As a consistent and frequent nail salon goer, I will be continuing to use Jay and his wife as the only nail techs that I trust and are professional, but I can only hope that they switch to a different salon. read more

I don't like my pedicure at allllll! If you want a French pedicure go somewhere else. They don't use a pink base and my cuticles are burning

I visited the shop for the first time today even though I live on the other side of town and have a great salon where I have gotten my nails done for the last two years. Big mistake to leave my usual! I should've just waited until my amazing lady was back in town! The attitude of the young lady who did my nails was terrible. She never smiled, barely said a word, was exasperated when I asked why I was putting my hands in boiling hot water to get the old dip off, was equally annoyed when I asked her to put a towel over the bowl of acetone that my hands were soaking in. She was very unconcerned when the color on my nails was not correct but gave a half hearted offer to change it, and had an overall bad attitude. My nails look fine (although they aren't the color I wanted because I wasn't about to let her start over) but I will never return to that shop again. read more

This was my initial review: I waited 1.5 hours to get nails and pedi did and I did not get serviced. They allowed other people in front with no appointment and just completely ignored, continuing to just say sorry. My current review as of 12-22-2020: Allure Nails is the way to go when it's not crowded. They give the best pedicures and manicures ever. Alan does an awesome job and the staff is a lot friendlier when it's less people there. Overall I would go back again as long as it's not crowded. I walked in and asked for a dip manicure with this design (it has their name on it) She said sure and sat me at a station. I showed the picture and asked the guy if he could do it and he said no problem. I had all my nails done and suddenly got an important phone call, while he was doing the design on one finger. I wasn't paying attention and this is what I got. I went back and asked for it to be fixed & a refund on the manicure bc my cuticles were never clipped, nails never trimmed, no hand massage and my nails looked nothing like their picture. I was told that the dip manicure is $52 that includes NOTHING but the powder itself just FYI. No hand treatment despite the word manicure in the service title. Do not recommend. read more

I consistently get dip manicures and the last two visits my dip manicure has cracked. The first time to the point of me going back just two days later because every single nail was cracked. I've been hopping around nail salons lately trying to find the perfect one in West Ashley. I think I first heard of this place via Yelp. I checked out their Facebook page, but there wasn't much to see. I decided to give it a try. It's conveniently located in the Whole Foods plaza. Inside is beautifully decorated with the manicure stations at the front, pedicure stations in the back, and a sink in the middle. The walls in the front are lined with mirrors. The menu is listed on a few in the front, which is neat. There are TVs throughout. It's clean. There is a really strong chemical smell. It hit me in the face as soon as I walked in. I would suggest a better ventilation system. I was offered a drink as soon as I was seated. My nail tech was nice. We chatted a little bit not too much. She took her time with my fill in and polish. They have a nice selection of gel colors--they even have OPI gels, which it seems like a lot of places don't carry anymore. The prices are comparable to other places in the area. They offer a rewards system where you earn points for each service, which convert to a discount on a future visit. read more

Sitting here waiting for my toes to dry and decided to write this well deserved review. It's my first visit and to say that I'm quite pleased would be an understatement. This literally has to be the first nail salon I've been to in Charleston that did both my pedicure and nails (fill) at the same time. Sounds trivial I know, but hey it's Charleston and I've learned to count my victories no matter how small. Plus, I didn't have to drive downtown or North Charleston which is another win. As for the quality of work, my toes/nails look great! The salon was extremely clean: no chemical smells or odors, no nail dust, even the music was universally good. The prices were reasonable, the customer service was good and the icing on the cake was that I didn't have to spend 2-3 hours sitting in a nail salon. I recommend this salon 100%! I brought my 3-year-old in for a mommy and me spa day and this salon exceeded my expectations! The staff was so kind and patient with us. My daughter was able to pick out her own nail polish out of the massive assortment of colors. We were seated in the comfy pedicure chairs. My daughter was given pillows to help her sit comfortably. As I got my pedicure an additional tech polished her nails. My pedicure was amazing and left my skin feeling so soft. They used a lavender scented lotion that smelled heavenly. They also gave my daughter a gel polish on her hands. I was nervous that she'd mess them up (being 3) but the tech gave her simple toddler-friendly instructions and was extremely patient and even had a conversation about her nursery rhyme videos . Parking - Plenty of parking in the shared lot with Whole Foods. The Service - I was pleased with the quality of my nails and feet both times. HOWEVER, in both instances I had issues with pricing. I came alone the first time and was charged $5 more than the advertised pricing. When I questioned it, he said that the wall was wrong, turned around and said something in his native language and someone else came to ring me out. The second time, I took my daughter. As we were in the pedicure area relaxing with AirPods in, my daughter tapped me and asked which pedicure she was getting. I told the worker, the classic. I resumed my music when she messaged me and said "the older lady wont take no for an answer". I muted my music and listened. She was telling my daughter "this polish is so basic is wont last. You want gel? " She shook her head. The worker persisted "tell me that you want gel polish because it last longer and I will do it. Your Mom will pay." I told her "I can hear you and I will not." This is the first and only place I've gotten my nails done in Charleston. Everyone is very welcoming and it's pretty fast. It's very busy but worth the wait. I've been very satisfied with a manicure, color change, and pedicure. I personally think it's fairly priced. You are also offered wine, water or soda. They have TONS of colors and lots of options. My friend got ombré acrylics that were so beautiful. It's very clean in there and the ambiance is nice. I wouldn't call this nail salon like the others. It feels more upscale and put together. I'm a novice when it comes to getting my nails done, but wanted a manicure since I do a terrible job at my own nails. I opted for Allure due to the good reviews and proximity to my house. I went as a walk-in and was seated right away. I was given a couple of bins of color options and waited about 10 minutes until a technician had availability. I initially had asked for a gel manicure, but the technician said it wouldn't last long on my thin nails and he suggested SNS dip powder. I agreed, because again, I have no idea what I'm doing (I didn't realize until later that this was an upsell - it cost $50.50). The technician did a good job and I mostly like the way my nails turned out, though I wish he would have pushed back and cleaned up my cuticles before applying the dip powder. He also dipped my fingers directly into the jar, which I found out after the fact is a no-no. The space is nicely decorated and very clean. There is ample parking, as it's in between Doscher's and Whole Foods. If my manicure lasts long, I'll give them a go again. read more

I noticed this nail salon had popped up in West Ashley right next to the new Whole Foods on Savannah Highway. This shopping center revamp is a great little addition to Savannah Highway (also includes a Zoe's Kitchen with Starbucks and Swig + Swine bbq on either side of it). This is by far the best SNS dip manicure I have gotten in the Charleston area- on both of my visits, the nail techs have taken their time with me and made sure I was satisfied with the shape. Love this place!! I've tried many nail places in the area and this is by far my favorite! I came with 6 girlfriends on a Monday night and they got us all in. The staff was so friendly and offered us complimentary drinks. The price is $5 or more than most places but worth it. They did an excellent job on my pedicure and the foot message was so long! Best pedicure I've ever had! I opted for the Herbal pedicure with eucalyptus and it actually relieved my head cold. The chair was super relaxing and Andy, my nail tech, gave amazing feet and leg massage all throughout the experience. He even offered a touch up when I smudged my toe when putting my shoes on. This place was shockingly bad and overpriced. I received the worst manicure I've ever had. I rarely write reviews and had to after coming here two days ago and chose to come here based on positive reviews. First of all, an old nail fell out of the nail clippers the technician started to use on me. She made a grossed out face, brushed it to the floor, and continue to cut my nails. She then clipped my nails completely uneven and the shortest my thumb nail has ever been. Then she started attacking my cuticles. It was so harsh and she could tell I was mortified because she asked me if I was in pain. No, I was just shocked and uncomfortable at the way she was thoughtlessly taking huge chunks of skin from my fingers. I didn't want color and asked for her to buff and shine. They ended up charging me an extra $7 for that!!! The manicure had no massage, lasted 10 minutes, and was $25. I was floored. read more
