Any woman who relocates to a new town knows the struggle of finding a new, trustworthy nail salon. I'm happy to report that after 1.5 years of residency in Mount Pleasant, I have found mine at Nail 2000. While the facilities are nothing special, the women with the tools are top notch. I've been in several times now and the finished product is always grade A. I'm a perfectionist, and I'll often scrutinize a nail job afterwards, but One and Hahn both left me with manicures and pedicures that were flawless. I would pay a premium for these women, but to my delight, their prices are the best I've come across on my hunt for a nail salon. For a pedicure and dip manicure, my total was $82! I even asked if they made a mistake like forgetting to charge for the removal of my old color or the pedicure, and they assured me their prices are just that great. So relieved and happy to have found these folks. I was reluctant to try based on the low stars but so glad I went for it anyway! If you haven't been here, or it's been a while since hour last visit, you should check it out again. read more

This was one of the worst pedicures and start of a manicure I've ever had. Guy used a dremel type tool around cuticle edges (feet and hands) before going to town cutting them. He was so zealous in his cutting of my cuticles that after nicking a finger and drawing blood, I asked if we could stop. The polish job on my feet (didn't get there with my hands) was so messy, neither big toe has a smooth surface (he actually touched one during the process and instead of starting over, he just built up more lumpy polish). If you go there, be careful and speak up if someone does something you're not happy with. read more

Do NOT go here for an eyebrow wax if you still want to have eyebrows when you leave. I have never had my eyebrows done so terribly in my life. When she was done and showed me I was appalled with the result. She then proceeded to say "it was just a clean up" and asked if she needed to do more after both my eyebrows were waxed at least halfway off. I was so upset and I was in complete disbelief of how terrible of a job she had done. Do NOT go here for any service, especially eyebrow waxing. The end result was a standard pedicure but the experience was lack luster. Technicians but one gentleman were not very friendly and spoke for my entire 90 minute experience in their native language to each other with little customer interaction. I'm not confident that the tools and utensils were properly sterilized between customers. The space was not generally very clean. I will continue to search Mt. As the saying goes, "One man's meat is another man's poison," that is why I rate my experience with 4 stars at this strip center nail salon, contrasted to previous rather poor reviews. OK, it's rather small (just 4 operators including the owner) and shabby ... it could use a paint job ... but, these days, when it comes to 'services,' I'm less about pampering ... and more about the end result ... a perfect manicure and perfect pedicure ... which I received from Oanh (pronounced, Wan). I had a basic pedicure and dip powder manicure today and it was a great experience. They had SO many colors to choose from. Everything seemed very clean. The technician was a perfectionist. After trying several places in Mt. Pleasant, this is by far the best pedicure in town. Get the deluxe pedicure and enjoy a nice long relaxing leg/foot massage! My favorite part. I had a great experience here. The gentleman who gave me a pedicure did a wonderful job and took his time with the massages. He gave me a great massage with the scrub and then a second one with the lotion. It was so good I almost fell asleep. The chairs are comfy and do nicely for the back and shoulders. I had my first pedicure at this place today and I must say it was the best I've had in Charleston. I walked in and was immediately seated. Now, it was 4:30pm on a Sunday but still, it was nice to get an open seat and have the chair start its own massage service! But, what really made this experience exceptional was how particular Tian was at doing my pedicure. She took her time!!!!! She gave me a wonderful sea salt calf and foot massage which lasted about 15 minutes or at least it felt this long! It was heaven. Most places will just rub over the calves and not really massage anymore but this place did it right!!! Tian was so friendly and sweet that I recommend her services for a pedicure. read more

I sat with my hands in the dryer for longer than ever before, and my nails smudged immediately after leaving the salon - I'm 95% sure the UV part of the drying process never happened because there's something wrong with their lamp/dryer. So that was a waste of money as I will now have to redo this myself (didn't have time for them to fix it). I was also charged extra for my manicure because I had a gel manicure prior to this one and needed the gel polish removed. I was not told this would cost extra until it was time to pay - and even then, it was just added on without telling me why. I won't be going back there. There are plenty of other salons in Mount Pleasant that provide better service. read more

I've been here a couple times. I keep trying them hoping they will redeem themselves. Main reason they are within walking distance of my house. I have 2 failed gel manicures that didn't last but a week which is not normal at all. I go in today to try the eyebrow wax, and the lady did an awful job. I call and say I'm gonna get it fixed tomorrow because I won't pay again to someone else to fix it and she hangs up on me. Terrible customer service! read more

Very inconsistent service. They must pay less than the other places because they have employee turnover. I get stuck with the new girl every time and the service is just not up to par. I think if you ask for the owner, or Chang/Ching? , you will get good service. Otherwise, it's a roll of the dice. read more

Got my eyebrows waxed. She did an ok job but the customer service is non existent! No one greeted me or the other lady that came in after me, not even a hello. I had to wait 5 minutes for the eyebrow girl to finish clipping the nails of another woman who works there. When I left there was no goodbye or thank you. I went to Nail 2000 Saturday, November 26, 2016. Main reason they are within a couple of my miles from my house. I paid for gel manicure that didn't last but 2 days. Today is Monday, November 28, 2016 and the gel nails started peeling. The older nail technician that did my nails did an awful job. She had a very bad attitude and didn't return my credit card. My grandmother is dying of stage 4 terminal metastatic cancer and I brought her here for what I hoped to be a relaxing afternoon out. a customer left, (who happened to have particularly gross feet) I watched a worker drain the water from the pedicure bath to the right of me, they usually spray it and wipe it with a cleanser, she did not and simply replaced the plastic. Then I watched her take the tools from that bath, and set them by my grandmothers pedicure bath and sit down to start her nails. I asked her "is that okay? To take the tools you just used on that woman and use them on her without cleaning them?" She said "yeah" I said well what if that woman had an open sore or something on her foot?" To which she did not reply and just went and grabbed new tools from the sterilizer. Then our nails were finished, I watched her take the metal tools to the sink to rinse, and then took them and sat them at another client's station. She also sat the same buffer square and file that she had just used to my grandmother, At the same station and is using them on a customer as I sit here waiting for my nails to try. The tools should be placed in to a sterilizer between each use and are being repeatedly used on customers without being cleaned properly and sometimes not cleaned at all. I am a nurse and have seen patient's come in with serious and sometimes life threatening infections from simple things such as dirty pedicure tools. Also, the worst part was, when we left; my grandmother said she felt the woman who did her feet hated her and I walked why and she said she was really aggressive with her feet and her pedicure was painful and my grandmother NEVER complains so this was upsetting.
