My coworker and I wanted to have a manicure and pedicure day so we researched the best nail place in Mount Pleasant. Ocean nails kept coming up so we decided to try it out. It is very clean and tidy and a pretty place. The staff were really friendly especially the manager who went above and beyond to try to figure out how she could give us chrome nails. Crystal is the one that greeted us and rushed us into the seats without us being able to pick our color. We told her we wanted chrome to which she promptly replied that we would have to pay for the pedicure and a manicure and then pay extra for gel nail polish and then pay extra for the chrome on top. They had no examples of what they could do with chrome. I had crystal to do my nails and Kevin to do my feet. Crystal used to drill on my fingers and destroyed my cuticles. She put on my acrylic nails without cutting down the nails underneath on the corners so they show. After the acrylic nails are was no cuticle oil or lotion or Hand massage whatsoever. This was $75! Kevin did my pedicure and did a very good job. He does not really speak English so it was a bit hard to talk to him. And he he did cut my toenails and filed them however they are going various directions. They are not straight across. This was $71. JOHN did my friends nails and he did an excellent job. His English is perfect. He translated to Kevin for me. He was extremely kind and helped my friend decide what to do with her nails since it was her first time getting a pedicure. We really appreciate it him. This was $127 for mani/pedi. I have been getting manicures and pedicures since 2006 literally around the world so I have a lot of experience and what is good and what isn't. This place is definitely overpriced. For that reason alone I probably would not go back. Our total was around $315 for a manicure, a full set and two pedicures. They have a great selection of colors and some great packages for organic essential oils packages or organic herbal packages. Their prices are very reasonable and they are very kind. They sat my daughter and I together for each part and offered a complimentary beverage of water, soft drinks, white or red wine, or champagne. BUT TODAY--because 2020--after they told me that SNS no longer makes my color (yes, I'm a creature of habit and always get the same thing), instead of handing me the many books of the colors and telling me to pick a new one, they CUSTOM-MIXED one just for me, and added a note to my profile so that all the techs know what to do for me! That's just the level of service you can expect at Ocean, why I keep sending all my friends there, and why I won't go anywhere else. SCAMMERS! Beware. They suddenly changed the price for a fill from $56 to $76, plus an extra $25 for painted French and $28 for designs (for an overall price of $125 for an ACRYLIC FILL WITH GEL-- not a new full set. A FILL), and when I provided screenshot of what their actual price menu said on their website, they said they will change their menu prices and justified overcharging me more than double. I walked out of the salon spending $240 (including tip) for an acrylic gel fill and a gel pedicure, and this was with the 10% discount since I used their in salon ATM machine and paid with cash. She fixed my nails from the tragedy of another salon, I wish I could Take Rose with me home to Atlanta. I hope to get my nails done again before leaving Charleston. I first noticed Ocean Nails because it's located in the same shopping center as my favorite coffee shop, and this Saturday, I visited for a pedicure. The staff members were super nice and greeted me when I walked in. I went in a few days before to get a menu/price list and they actually remembered me. First, I picked out a nail polish color, then got settled in for a deluxe pedicure. The salon has two TVs, which the employees gladly turned for me since I wanted to watch football. They also offered me wine, soda, or water to drink. The massaging chair was super relaxing, and the staff were gentle with my feet, which are ticklish. They massaged my feet and lower legs and scrubbed off some callouses. My feet are pretty rough from running so much this summer and being sweaty, so everything felt great. Everyone was nice and the prices are great. I've only had a pedicure here, but I wouldn't hesitate to come back for a mani or other services. read more

After reading the great reviews, I had to check this place out, even though it's out of the way for me! I walked in on a Friday afternoon for an SNS manicure and was seen right away. I was given books of color to choose from, asked if I wanted anything to drink, and a technician (Tuong Nhan - I think she also goes by Emily?) started removing my current SNS. Once my old SNS was off, she shaped my nails beautifully and did my new mani. Unlike the last salon I visited, she really took a lot of time to make sure I had full coverage and that my nails and cuticles looked amazing. It turned out amazing! While the space is clean and comfortable, it isn't one of those glam or IG-worthy salons. However, do not let that turn you off! The quality of work is incredible and everyone I encountered was great! The only snafu I had was with tipping. I saw that they request tips via Venmo or cash, so I tried to Venmo the tip. However, my phone was taking forever to process it and we didn't think it was going to go through, so ultimately, I added the tip on my credit card. Once I got home, I realized the tip on both my credit card and Venmo went through. I contacted the salon and the refunded the Venmo tip right away. It was so nice they did this, especially since it was my own fault that I accidentally tipped twice! read more

Ocean Nails & Spa is by far one of the best nail salons in the Charleston area. I decided to check it out because I was in Mount Pleasant. I didn't have an appointment but I called when I was heading to the salon. The lady who answered said the wait was about 30 mins. The salon is modern and bright. I like the layout--the manicure stations are in the middle and the pedicure chairs line either side, with a tv on each side. When I arrived, she asked if I was the one who had just called. She told me to pick out a color--they have hundreds of regular and gel polishes. While I looking to a color, another lady walked over and said she would be doing my services. She offered me a drink at the beginning of the service. She took her time with my acrylic fill and gel polish application. Then we moved to a pedicure station. I chose the paraffin wax pedicure. With this one, you can pick the scrub and lotion scents. It was relaxing. And it didn't feel rushed. I noticed she used a little timer--I guess to ensure the pedicure doesn't go over or under the allotted time. They offer a loyalty program where you accumulate points for each service and eventually begin to save on future visits. I definitely plan on going back if I'm on this side of town. read more

I read the reviews of this place prior to trying them out and was excited to get my nails done there for my birthday. I really regret going as they ended up being the worst nails I've ever had done. I had decided to treat myself and do a gel pedicure with a matching dip manicure. They were both done by the same male technician. He was very friendly and did the pedicure super fast although he was really trying to pressure me into getting a more expensive one and acted annoyed when I said I didn't want that. Then we move on to the nails which were taking a little more time but it was no big deal. I'm nearing the end and he keeps trying to pressure me into getting chrome after I already said no. He then proceeds to put it on my nail anyways so I could try it and then when I asked him to take it off he sighs and acts as though it was my fault he put it on there. He takes it off and puts on the clear coat and then is impatient and ends up smudging one with his finger claiming it was dry when it wasn't. Of course I didn't see the smudge till I got home. I paid for a very expensive mani/pedi and left. By the time I got home, which all I did was leave the salon and drive home, 2 of my nails were already cracked. They had already closed so I went back the next day and when I got to the salon I saw that a total of 5 nails were cracked and one was smudged, pretty ridiculous considering it was $140. They were nice and redid the top coat, but then they claimed that I wasn't careful and broke them. So instead, they made them so incredibly thick you could see the layers of dip piled on my nails. At that point I left never wanting to go back, and within 3 days all of my nails were cracked once again. I have gotten my nails done for years and never had as bad of a manicure as this place gave me. I will never come back to this nail salon and don't understand why it has so many good reviews. read more

I normally LOVE getting my nails done here but this time I went and had a tech who I've never had before and got a full acrylic set with color french tips. I wasn't sure what his name was but he was really rough with my nails and they've been sore since I got them done on Saturday. He made them super thick and I asked him to file them down, which he did, but really roughly. The shape looks great and he did an awesome job on the french tip shape but I just can't get over how much my nails hurt after getting them done. The side of one of my nails is also lifting already. I'll probably be back to get them removed and just get regular gel on them without any tips or acrylic or anything. I do love this place and is my go to nail salon but I'm just not happy with how tight and thick my nails feel after this service. read more

There was no wait for a chair and I was instantly offered a beverage. The staff was friendly and the woman who did my nails not only spoke English very well but conversed just enough for me to be able to fully relax. She chatted with her coworkers while I caught up on Facebook, sharing an exchange with me every few minutes.
