TERRIBLE customer service from the manager of the salon, and is a consistent theme I've heard from friends who are also regular customers. Most recently, she cancelled my appointment and informed me the morning of my appointment, despite the fact that I did everything in my power to follow their policy and prompts to confirm both with answering the automated text prompt and calling the day before and speaking to the front desk about the appointment the next day. When I spoke to the manager about this she completely neglected to acknowledge my feedback and the trouble she caused in having to rebook. She was cold, in-personable and very clear in her actions that my experience wasn't important. On the flip side, the staff and estheticians are friendly & great at their job. It was nice they had the flexibility since it wasn't too busy. Jordyn was very nice and professional. My eyebrows looked on point. I cannot express how incredibly satisfied I have been with Waxed Salon as a business (and LIZ as one of its employees)! Also, I don't ever write Yelp reviews, so I feel very strongly about how much I love this place. This review will do them no justice, but here goes: In terms of Waxed Salon as a business, I have been astounded by every aspect so far. As the name would imply, they will wax anything, but also offer a TON of other services, including facials, lash lifts, etc. Usually when businesses offer too many different services, it comes at the cost of quality; however, this place is the exact opposite. All employees are highly competent, experienced and professional. Also, I simply cannot believe how affordable their prices are. I'm a medical student, so have to be very careful about spending money, and have left here each feeling like I got away with something crazy! Their hours and last-minute availability are also incredibly convenient, proving how customer-oriented and accomodating they are. Both times I have been were last-minute and right before closing around 8 p.m., and they didn't hesitate to tell me to come right on in, no problem. Additionally, I've been very impressed with the level of cleanliness and the sanitation practices used here (i.e. not double-dipping in wax, switching applicators between dips, use of nontoxic antiseptics/anti-inflammatory/calming topical agents on the skin, etc.) I cannot stress enough how important this should be to anyone getting any type of cosmetic procedure done, especially those involving sensitive areas. I've had plenty of friends with horror stories of getting superficial skin infections after being waxed at other salons in the area, and for MUCH more money than Waxed Salon charges! They certainly have the most hygienic protocol of any cosmetic salon I have ever seen, as well as the results to show for it. Liz gets 12+/10 stars from me. Generally, getting a wax is absolutely no fun and is one of those obligatory tasks which you hope you can get done with and leave ASAP, but somehow Liz made it enjoyable. If I could figure out her secret to making people so comfortable then I would be rich. However, at least part of it is that she has a TON of experience, a very calming demeanor, and lets you know exactly what to expect/ what is happening at every point. I was so happy with my visit with Liz that I went back 2 weeks later to see what the "lash lift" was all about. Based on the price, and unbelievable before & after pictures on the website, I assumed that this could not possibly be real and really had no expectation that it would work, or at least make much difference. But WOW... my mind is still blown. If I try to go into how speechless I still am by the lash lift, this review will be even longer than it already is. She was super friendly and welcoming--not to mention this was the least painful Brazilian I've ever had.
