I've visited several times for SNS powder manis and gel pedis. I keep my nails short (as in some white, but not long). I requested to keep my nails short (as in not add length) and specified a light filing but no clipping. My toes were okay, but my fingernails were clipped and then filed during SNS to be so short that they hurt for days. My SNS technician was very messy with the dipping. My nails were directly dipped into the SNS powders without being sanitized first. My technician got SNS powder all over my fingers and could barely remove it (and that was painful!). She said it was because I have short nails...but I have not had this messy SNS stuck to my hands at other salons. I noted that I did not receive autoclaved metal utensils, and they did not use a bowl liner in the pedicure bowl. I was never offered any beverages. There are other options out there that provide neater, more professional experiences for the same costs. I'll go elsewhere. read more

Horrible service! I went in for a mani/pedi and they told me to pick a color. I picked my color and sat down at the couch, not too much later they told me to sit in one of the chairs to get my pedicure. They turned the water on and there I sat. I sat for 45 minutes, yep that's right 45 MINUTES! As I went to pull my jeans down to leave a lady came up and told me they were very busy and would get to me shortly. There were about 8-10 people in there. I told them I had been sitting in now luke warm water for 45 minutes, she didn't want to help or make things right. This is my go-to nail place. It is close to my apartment and I rarely have a problem with getting my nails done. I do try to go off peak hours as they are very busy after 4pm on weekdays and on Saturdays. They have a decent variety of nail polish colors and dip colors. Everyone is friendly and my nails look fresh for longer than most places. read more

We called in for a party of 5 on a rainy Sunday evening (about 5:30pm). They accommodated the party very easily, even with a handful of clients already in the chairs. they also offered us drinks which was nice. 4 of us received gel manis, 1 normal mani, and all of us got normal pedis. (normal mani/pedi ran $40). 1 of the nail techs was pretty vocal about his thoughts/opinions. Some may think he's playful or helpful, commenting on how long it took my friend to pick her colors, and letting her know which ones were bad for her. Others may take offense to his casual attitude. Even though we were just about the last group there, it didn't seem like most of the nail techs were rushing. Although, speaking for myself, the particular lady who did my nails (the boss lady) skipped a step when she had to redo one of the nails. She wiped the original polish off but didn't apply a new base coat. they were nice enough to not rush us out the door when we were sitting by the UV fan area, but I had bubbles in my manicure before I left the location. Maybe it's just the type of polish, but I'm not completely satisfied. I'd say I'm content with the salon and they nail technicians. read more

Admittedly I'm likely giving 5 starts instead of 4 because I've had a couple bad experiences lately with my old nail place on johns island. However, this place is ALWAYS busy and seems well equipped to handle it. It seems they have a process in place that works. I like that they have reserved parking near the entrance and the flowers outside are nice. When you walk in, the flow is not the best because there is no front desk. They are obviously trying to use every inch of space to the best ability. When u walk in, you're greeted by other customers waiting for their nails to try. The first time I came i thought it was an employee. Instead, you just stand there for a moment until someone notices you and addresses you. They are efficient and do a good job at a good price. They don't have an extensive menu. If u want a very relaxing true spa experience, it would be best to go to a true spa. read more

Very rude service. Came here while visiting town and my girlfriends and i wanted to get our nails done and found this place. Had good reviews so thought we would check it out. Came in and we were basically ignored for a little while and then they took my friends back to get their nails done while i waited. No big deal. Then I was talking to my friends and the people who worked here would ask me questions and every time I answered they looked at each other and laughed for every answer all while i was waiting for my friends to finish. I'm visiting crew from a boat and I read the reviews on yelp and decided to come to this studio. This nail studio has a nice outside walkways with flowers and the inside is nice. The lady who did my nails was at first nice but at the end very rushed and a bit rude. I got a regular polish manicure and regular polish pedicure. On my toes was dark red and on my fingers was painted a light nude color. When she was painting my fingernails, a red nail polish dot somehow appeared on my nail, (I think leftover residue from either my toes or someone else's) and I asked her if she could remove the red dot, because it really showed on the almost invisible light polish. She asked me if it was okay to leave it. I didn't want to be rude, but if I'm paying for a manicure I want it to be at least decent. I asked her to please re do it and she was a bit standoffish and re did it, not very well. Just removed the red, didn't re-paint the nude. And again I politely asked her if she could fix it so it would not be a big empty spot on my nail with very little polish, and she said that she couldn't fix it. I gave up at this point. I've gotten my nails done lots of times all over the USA but I have never felt so rushed before. I wouldn't come back here, that's for sure. I think she didn't want to fix it because it would take too much time. I don't see the big deal in asking someone to fix the nail that they got a bright red dot on. It takes like 3 minutes. I've been here before and have had mostly positive experiences, but I'm appalled by the appearance of my nails and nail beds after leaving and looking at my nails in a different light. I originally planned on gel, but went with SNS with acrylic tips to add length. My new nails were very long and looked wide, like the powder was too thick. My nail technician even said they were too long, but didn't offer to fix them. She said we'd go shorter next time. Although I could somewhat deal with the shape and length, I left with dried dip powder all over my nail beds. There was no effort to remove the dried powder and it was painful and rough to remove when I got home. Scrubbing my skin and re-filing my nails to fix the length wasn't worth the $50 I paid for them in the first place. I've had great experiences here in the past, but I don't think I'll go back after this experience. The inconsistency in experiences will keep me from coming back. read more

And to make matters worst when I got my mani done I had to ask twice for new tools because they were DIRTY! The first one had nail clippings in the box and the second one was dusty and gross... This was my fourth visit to the salon. I must say, these are some of the most rude and unprofessional people I have ever come across in the 26 years of having my nails done.. On my first visit, I asked to have acrylics but they did not seem to want to do them so I let them do what they wanted to do. They did not stay on well and I went to another salon in Mount Pleasant. The reason I wanted to visit the salon was because it was close to my new home on James Island. On my second visit back I asked again for acrylics and they were put on. All of my nails except one were broken In less than a week when I return. I tried to explain to the girl that this is never happened. At that time a young man it was doing nails for the lady next to me began to tell me that that's what happened if I wore acrylic nails. He said that they would break. He argued and argued and I did not back down with him saying "you're telling me that your work that you do in this salon is only going to last a week if I only do acrylics?". Finally, they had a girl come over named Lisa who said "I do for you". At that time, she did acrylics and put an overlay of their nail polish. It was a fine job and I was very pleased. And now today... I go in and I ask for Lisa. The owner, the older lady was doing a pedicure, as well as all other workers. She called me over to her and asked me what I needed. I told her that I would like to have an appointment with Lisa. She says "Lisa?". I said "Yes, Lisa! She did my nails last time and did such a good job is she here?" The lady acted like she wasn't going to answer. Finally she said "no Lisa is not here. She is on vacation for a week." I asked her if there was anyone else good that could do my nails as well as Lisa. She Then said "you can come back..., You can come back another day, uh you can come back... well we don't do acrylics here!." She then said that Lisa was out of town until March. I said "did she go out of the country?". The woman Says "we don't do acrylics here!" She would not look at me and I repeated what she said, and she ignored me. The lady that she was doing a pedicure on was rolling her eyes in disbelief. Other people were just looking, so I quietly walked out and left. I do not know what the problem was in this place but I would seriously suggest to stay away from it PLUS... Their prices are very high compared to other salons. I am almost speechless for how utterly rude this establishment is. I received a messy pedicure by one of the owners. She gave nearly NO attention to an actual pedicure; sloppy - and I realized it upon drying, she barely filed my nails, cuticles weren't even pushed back (which is a basic), no dead skin trim (another basic,) the nail polish was thrown on in a rush. The 10 min pedicure. I had no time to re-do it that day but was told by the much kinder male employee to come back for a re-do when it was convenient for me. I came back about a week later and that same woman greeted me with a combative attitude about me waiting so long to return. We got into an argument about what amount of time was deemed acceptable to come back and she impatiently instructed me to pick a color and sit down. I'm from NYC which is quick & impersonal - but efficient, & I have never been treated SO *ridiculously* rude by a nail salon as I have this. I would highly recommend you save your $ and frustration and go somewhere, ANYwhere else. If I could give NO stars I would but to submit this I reluctantly have to give some rating. My true rating is ZERO. To be absolutely fair there are some harder working people in this shop, but when an owner has no care for respect, customer service, quality or kindness for that matter - it's just not worth it. "Mimi" was belligerent, dishonest and absurdly rude. UPDATE: someone from this salon reached out to me in light of this review to CONTINUE telling me I was in the wrong. Really, folks, this is stunning. Defending their boss, I do understand that much. But an apology and a refund would be the most professional handling of this issue. She/he told me I was not able to be pleased. I was happy today with the young man who redid my pedicure (despite being confronted by Mimi upon entering the shop.) I told him he did a nice job but that it's just so very discouraging when your owner is outstandingly rude and unprofessional. Client beware, this place is very deceiving! Yes it is one of the nicer looking nail salons, but it's definitely not clean! I've had two warts pop up right along the nail bed where they cut the cuticle. They also often rush through a mani pedi to get the next client in the door and don't talk to you while you are in the chair. Had a really unfortunate experience here. The shop is outdated and appeared dirty. Upon arrival, the nail tech was sleeping across the chairs in the waiting area. I picked my color and sat down for a pedicure. Within 5 minutes the tech had cut me 3x with the cuticle clipper, drawing blood. I had to leave at that point due to pain and discomfort with the environment, despite the techs every effort to keep me in the chair. I got toe fungus on the toe that was cut under the nail.
