My Google review which is posted word for word below, was censored and not made public. However, immediately following me posting it, an influx of "Google user" reviews with no real name popped up. One can only assume why and how this occurred... I had an awesome pedicure here done by a male. I had a regular manicure scheduled at the same time and was transferred to Sarah. She suggested acrylic tips which I approved. I left happy after the initial application with cherry design. Unfortunately, they started lifting on several fingers by week 2. I went back for a fill week 3 and it was an AWFUL experience. She advised she knew how to fix the minor lifting. Ok, no problem. However, she over drilled and left my cuticles red and burning for a few days after. I walked out of there feeling the throb from the drill. Her design this time was poorly done. They were short staff and someone was waiting for her to get a pedicure, so maybe that's why? There is no excuse for the over drilling though. I went elsewhere for a fill and she acknowledged the damage and lifting (again) without me mentioning it. If I could rewind I would try the tech here that came recommended to me (Patrick or Franklin, I believe). read more

I have been going to Victoria Nails bc I saw how my neighbors nails looked. They always looked incredible! She told me where she went, but since we live on Johns Island I felt it was a bit out of the way. After going to two places on Johns Island and paying a lot of money getting a " dip" manicure, I asked my friend who she used. I decided to drive the 20 minutes. I use Franklin. He's the owner. I have to tell you he is the best I have ever had!!! Even when I lived in Manhattan! He shapes your nails according to the shape of your nail bed! AND?? The dip lasts for weeks!!! My nails amazing!! I would not go to anyone else for a dip manicure!! I don't go there for a pedicure. But I highly recommend going to Franklin for any type of manicure you want!!! read more

I called this place 30 min before close hoping they could see me, but prepared to be turned away, understandably. They welcomed me with open arms. I got there at 6:45 and had Susan. She was very patient with me picking my colors and she made sure she understood the vision I had. What I truly appreciated was that Susan wasn't rushing at all. I think this salon is gorgeous! Out of all of the places I've visited so far in the Charleston area I love this one. They put a little more effort and energy into the work they do which I appreciate. My only qualm is that every thing is an extra charge- cuticle clean up, filing the shape you want etc. I just moved to SC from NY and that's something I've never experienced. I keep my nails well groomed consistently as I work in retail and it's a requirement, so it's by no means a task to do my manicure. I would definitely recommend them though if you want a thorough job! read more

I truly was not going to leave a bad review (I hate doing it) however my nail chipping within a week of my fresh mani is just frustrating. I hope this prevents someone else from spending money for disappointment. One of the worst (and most painful) manicures I have ever received. This was a new salon for me, but I was on the way home so I decided to try it. I walked in for my appointment on a Friday afternoon when the salon was nearly empty for a gel pedicure and an SNS manicure (I have gotten SNS regularly for 3 years and typically go for a new set every 2-3 weeks). I was promptly attended to by the staff who set me up to receive my services simultaneously. Typically my old SNS is soaked off - however my nail tech insisted that his method was much faster. He then pulled out an acrylic nail and proceeded to pry the old SNS off of my nails! After he tried for 10-15 minutes on my hand (as I winced and let him know it was painful) I requested we soak the rest. He obliged and I thought we'd continue as normal. I asked for oval nails, my go to shape (came in with my natural long almond shaped nails). He cut my nails first and then told me they were too short for almond. Fine, they'll grow back - so I ask for rounded. I am not sure what went wrong, but two of my nails did not have the normal smooth finish - they were bumpy and had divets. It has yet to be a week after this experience and now my nails are starting to chip, which is not typical with SNS and certainly not what I would expect after paying $60 plus tip. I would not go back nor would I ever recommend anyone to try this salon. read more

It was a last minute date night during the pandemic. Didn't have an appointment and 45 min until they closed. They said " no problem" and took us to save our date night. I was so happy they took us as was my pregnant wife. The staff was so great and they did a fantastic job on my warlocks. They were gentle which was great because my toes have been crushed in sports. I've received a fill in gel nail service and from various employees and they do an amazing job every single time without miss. So kind to walk-ins and always make sure you get what you want. While I had a great fill and file and he did a great job on my base color I asked for a simple smiley face and sad face on my middle finger on both nails. One sad and one smiley, it turned out horribly. We were already there for so long so I did not want to start a scene so I paid and left so they were not aware I was disappointed with the service. My tech worked hard on my nails but the design was terrible. They should make you aware that they cannot perform the design before doing it, and offer something else. Very disappointed and i went home and filed it off and applied a different color. Wonderful, clean place though, just upset with my service. read more

Unfortunately I thanks it necessary to leave my experience here so that maybe they chance in some points! I did my fingernails and toenails! the gentleman who made my feet thought it was super educated, I had chosen a white color but when I saw the nail polish I asked if there was an option for a softer white, he didn't even have time to answer because the guy who was starting my hand said that can't be another tipe of white! I didn't want to argue so I ended up accepting that color! even I knew the true reason "he didn't want to waste time". I had asked him to clean the cuticles well, he said he would clean it when we got to his table, which didn't happen! result was not what I expected! but what made me come here to leave my experience was that I found it unprofessional, he said that the value of the nail would be 55.00, he repeated it several times and I asked to be sure, when it came time to pay, he charged extra being that I hadn't done anything more than what we agreed to before...when I asked him why I was charging extra when he had said 55.00 he came to me with a meaningless explanation! so why was it unclear and spoke before! Went in on Monday the 1st for a fill and gel polish. I wasn't offered anything to drink even though everyone else around me was. My nails were so incomplete and rushed by Lee that I had to return on Wednesday bc my polish was bubbling up and peeling due to him not allowing the gel to set and dry. Once again not offered anything to drink. I wanted the same color I had but they couldn't find it so I had to chose another color, I chose a cat eye which is less expensive then their gel polish and was told I would have to pay $15 even though I had to return bc my nails were poorly done. I decided to try this nail salon on advice of the hair salon several doors down, but was overall very disappointed with my experience. Initially I was excited, because the interior is beautiful, clean and has a relaxing ambience. However, the staff were rude and snooty. There was a little boy getting his nails painted next to me, and it was very clear that the two women doing our nails were talking sh*t and laughing at him in their native language. Another employee was arguing with a woman about how she wanted HER nails done...seriously the worst vibes. The woman who did my nails was unfriendly, very rough, and rushed through the entire process. She used an electric file to take my old gel polish off, and nicked my skin several times--never once bothering to apologize. She was sloppy and careless too--painting 2 top coats on one hand, and only 1 top coat on another. Honestly though, I was so desperate to leave that I let it go, anything to get out of that place! The last truly insulting thing she did though, was imply and gesture that I really needed an upper lip wax at the end of my nail service, after she'd already tried heckling me for an eyebrow wax. I am a natural redhead and have very faint, blonde hair that hardly resembles a mustache in the way she was gesturing. It was tacky and rude and felt intentionally spiteful, probably because I only had time for a gel mani when I'd initially booked a gel mani and pedi. AWEFUL does not sum up the experience! Pedicure was rushed. Toes look terrible, cut extremely short, not shaped at all, and no massage. I asked for a Gel manicure, he started and it was dip. I said no no, I want gel, dip is to thick for me. He kept going like he didn't know what I was saying. I said over and over gel and tried to move my hands. He said oh no, let me finish you will like it. I hate SNS. They are think and hard to deal with. They look terrible!!!! See photos! This is the very next day! They made me pay for them, which would have been fine had they fixed them before I left or removed them. Said they could "mess them up" but that's all they could do. So so upset. My nails are going to be ruined. My step daughters nails look like she did them herself. It was an overall terrible experience and we will not be back. read more

The girl did not seem to care or try all rushed me into picking a color which I don't even like. Didn't offer me a drink and the pedicure was rushed. I called ahead for the price and they charged me 10 extra which I had to argue about not being charged that extra. They didn't offer me a drink or make it at all enjoyable. The nails came out fine but how how much I paid I don't want to feel like I am a burden to them getting my nails done when there are many other places to go that make you feel welcome. For the most part the nail techs do a good job. Some of the male techs are a little rough in handling your hands. What I don't like is the "surprise" I get every time I get to the register. I get a gel fill and it's never at the listed price. I don't understand why you are charged extra if your acrylics are old and need to be replaced. Is it ok to leave the old moldy acrylics on because the customer does not want to pay extra for removing it? How is this not part of the service for a fill? Or why when asked if you want the same nail shape you came in with that you are charged extra for that? I'm not asking for a special nail shape. Nevertheless, make sure customers know that if they are getting the same nail shape, that it is going to cost x amount of dollars, or that getting a full fill on a nail because the current fill is old will cost them x amount of dollars. I always tip for service, even bad service...but no one wants to be surprised at the register, and the next time I am "surprised" at the register, I will not be leaving a tip. Your tip will go to all the "a la cart" surprise service charges you tack on. read more

I have went to Victoria Nails twice in the last two weeks and their service was HORRIBLE. The man who answers the phone who sits up front is beyond rude!! You can set up an appointment and when you do whatever you are asking for is a rush process once he sees more people entering. He will tell you he doesn't have time although you have set an appointment to follow through with what you want. Today 3/19 I set an appointment and per usual the man at the front was very unwelcoming. I had a guy working on my nails who may have been new he done an awful job! He filed my nails awful, the full in was done so light it was ridiculous, the jewel design was awful, and the polish was painted way below the cuticle and bubbly once dried. They charge you for everything!!! They charge you file your nails!!! It's so many hidden fees!!! Also they charge you for having a length to your nails!! I called back to discuss my concerns and the rude man at the front told me to return on Monday today being Friday because he is now booked abs he downplayed everything!!!! I have an event tomorrow in which now I have to make another nail appointment elsewhere! I do feel they are racist and have their people picked!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! You will pay for every chandelier and complimentary drink with the hidden fees!!! Never the FUCK again!!! Two times in a row!! SN I did get a refund!!! HORRIBLE!! read more

I went to this place while in town visiting family & was sadly disappointed. I read all the incredible reviews & decided it was a safe bet. I got SNS (dip) nails on a Friday, and by Sunday nails were falling off (these usually last me a month). It is a Thursday now & almost all of my SNS nails have fallen off which is a huge bummer. It also took 2.5 hours for my nails to get done - I have never had this take so long. It also hurt! I am not usually nail-sensitive. They must have changed ownership, or all their old employees left. I called to make an appointment with my usual guy and they said he didn't work there anymore. Still went for an SNS and regular pedicure. There was no one in the salon (which is usually very busy) so two technicians worked on me at the same time in the pedi chair. I felt rushed. The woman who did my pedicure was very rough, rude and tried to pressure me into a gel pedi. I've always gotten a regular one and it always lasts a long time. I think she purposely messed it up/ applied the wrong top coat because 24 hours later, my toes are still tacky, not shiny, and have debris stuck to them (because of their stickiness). No base coat was done for my SNS dip, and the wrong top coat was used, so they are uneven and textured. Have been going to this salon since they opened as a sister store to Sea Star Nails, but I WILL NOT be going back. Waste of $100. Hopefully Sea Star is still the same.. read more
