I've had my nails done at least once a month for about a decade so I'm certainly not new to this. What I loved about my dip nails I got done here is that they lasted a month without chipping or breaking. What I didn't love is that to remove the dip they soaked my entire hands in acetone. I could feel every scratch and cut I've ever had. I preferred the cotton and foil method. My hands felt so incredibly dry afterwards I had to ask for lotion, which is typically part of a standard manicure. I probably won't come back, just given the experience of removing the nails and that my cuticles were so sensitive afterwards. read more

Nice nail spa Wesr Ashley. We went to this spa, because Luxia did not have availability. We were able to get the same pedicures but the experience was not as good as the Luxia experience, Veda is much smaller and not near as luxurious. The employees did a good job overall, but Veda does not compare to Luxia. This is a decent spot for pedicures, but not the best. read more

I came to Veda because my normal salon in mount pleasant was farther away and I've already been disappointed with Vedas service before but thought I should give them a second chance. Once again, probably the worst nail salon in Charleston. They refused to do fix my nails with a different color or even give me a discount, I haaaaddd to get the same color and the same thing if I wanted it to be fix for free after spending over $50 on these. It's our favorite local nail salon. The recognize my husband and I now and always do a pretty good job. We especially love that they use the foot bath liners and we love the hot towels too. If you're still old school like me and get your eyebrows waxed from time to time to help clean them up, they do the best. You even get a good discount if you pay with cash! The last time we came, after I took off my nail polish on my toes all my nails were completely scuffed up and I had to put new polish on immediately because it was quite an ugly sight and I always get just regular paint. read more

the worst manicure I've ever had from someone that gets regular manicures, every two weeks for 7+ years. Not only did it take over 2 hours for a simple dip change (didn't get a special shape) but he yanked and shoved my hand around and didn't ask any questions about how I wanted my nails then got huffy when I asked for them to be shorter. When I pointed out that there was dip all over my cuticles he said yeah yeah. Then he tried to file my literal pinkie because the cuticle was completely covered and the guy huffed because I asked him to stop filing my finger lol then he got out the cuticle clippers but at this point all of my cuticles are covered in dip I said don't bother because you're literally just going to cut my skin because you can't even see my cuticles and he said "what you scared?" Lol It hasn't even been 24 hours and almost every nail is cracked. I called to let them know, but I don't have time to go sit for another 2 hours to get another horrendous manicure from the same guy (what they offered) and they said no refund. Fine but I'm not going back. Waste of 2 hours and $55! Don't waste your time or your money. read more

Unfortunately, I'm not a reviewer. I don't really think it's a good practice, however, I felt this review is needed. I've been going to Veda for over a year now, getting regular manicures and pedicures there and they have all been great. So luckily I knew exactly where to go to get my nails done for my wedding. And one bad time isn't usually enough for me to review, but because it was my wedding, their response was awful. They did not shape my nails at all, and also didn't do a manicure on them. They didn't even clean off my nails before applying acrylics from the previous manicure I'd had. The nails look like thy had a weeks worth of growth on them barely hours after I had gotten them done and have now ignored my request for a refund. I live 40 min away and do not go out to West Ashley very often and did not have any time to go get them fixed prior to my wedding. I had to spend money somewhere else to get them fixed and you can tell by the pictures the difference that it made. Management has not responded to my wanting a refund, despite showing pictures and calling. Terrible customer service and follow up and is so disappointing especially for such an important day. So I went in for a gel pedi and a gel nail tips. My pedicure was actually really good. The girl that did it did an awesome job. But my nails are another story. The guy didn't file the acrylic down and now my nails look like little lumps on my fingers. So pissed bc I spent $131.00 plus a $10 tip. I've been looking for a reliable and professional nail tech ever since I moved here 2 years ago and I'm happy to say I've finally found one!! Henry is incredible and I highly recommend him. My friend and I both brought in pictures of nails we saw online and he was able to replicate them exactly! He was even able to match our S&S nail color to our regular toe color when we received our pedicures. Every nail tech here goes out of there way to make sure you are taken care of and that your appointment goes quickly and smoothly. There prices are the same as any other salon in Charleston, but for the service you receive here there's no other salon in Charleston that can beat. I will absolutely be coming back! read more

After all the rave reviews I gave Veda a try, very clean, fully staffed, many choices of polish & gell with matching colors in the same brand. Crazy about my hands & feet matching. I went at opening on a Sunday, they took me right away. Service was good, made nice convo with other patrons who had nothing but good things to say. Tommy was my tech, he did both my hands & feet, I got a standard pedicure & gel manicure. I was pleased with my service & thought I found my salon. 5+ stars for Veda. I've finally found a nail place that provides clean, quality service at a great price! As a patron (so from the surface), everything appears very clean. It's decorated wonderfully and very bright inside which I like. They've got two TVs and one has been on House Hunters every time I've gone, so that makes me even happier! The pedi chairs are still new. The polish walls are filled with tons of colors. The service is quality, too. The employees don't try to make too much small talk, and even for someone like me who can talk to a wall, it's very enjoyable to just sit in silence while my feet are made to look decent again. I usually get the Classic Pedi which is $29 without tip. You can tip on your credit card which is nice. If you do any of their other pedis, you get wine and exfoliation and other add-ons. The only negative thing I can conjure is that I wish they used those plastic bowl covers in the pedi bowls and changed them between customers. Check them out! read more

Short pedicures that are not worth the money. Customer service is not good as well. I asked the person doing my toes do I get more of a wash and massage and he stated I would have to buy a higher package. I would recommend going to another salon that takes there time on your pedicure. read more

The entire time I felt the lady was doing the absolute minimum in every step of the pedicure. And afterwards I realized that the only part of the pedicure she did right was painting my nails. I went to the same nail salon since 2006 and it got increasingly more and more terrible workers so after nearly 13 years I had to switch. I've tried a few places but Veda is it! Henry is so friendly and kind and did an excellent job! I had an ingrown nail and he helped me with that and my feet were so rough and bust up but he cleaned them up so nice and was nice about it. I highly recommend Veda and Henry! The leg and foot massage were so relaxing. The classic pedicure is $35 and worth it! read more

Worst nail salon experience ever. I've been getting dip powder for years, all over the world. The nail tech at Veda soaked off my polish and then told me the dip plus design would be $95! They wanted to charge me $10 for LENGTH. I've never heard of this before. I asked to speak to a manager and the nail tech told me she couldn't work with me because I was too difficult. I wanted dipped nude nails with some gold flake - no design, no painting, little effort and $95?! I left and went to Royal nails down th street. I went to get an SNS dip manicure, everything was very clean and the nail techs were very friendly. Henry did a good job on my nails and his shaping is very precise but he was going very quickly and rushing through to get to the next client. His filing was very rough and not comfortable for me at all. He cut my cuticles and I bled all over my nails. He then slapped some oil on my hands and promptly told me to leave after charging me $52. No hand massage or anything. If you want a quick job then I suggest going here but only if you are okay with having all of your cuticles cut open. Any other nail salon would have offered some kind of discount for this, when I mentioned to him I was bleeding he just wiped it off and said it would be fine. ‍ read more

This is a really clean place, nice people, lots of color options and very fair prices. I got the basic mani/pedi and it was $50. Nice chairs that lean back and massage. When I was there, HGTV was playing, so that was nice. A relaxing hour or so getting pampered is always fun. read more

This place is amazing. Everyone is super friendly and the salon is always clean. Most times you don't even have to wait but if you do it's not long. I switched to the dip nails and have been having issues with breaking them. It's never a problem to get them fixed. I'm also very picky about how my nails look and they always make sure I'm happy with how they look. They keep my brows completely on point. I make it a point to recommend them to everyone and when I've got out of town visitors I always take them. Best salon in the area!!! read more

This place will never get my business . I walked in and stood there for 6 mins while NOBODY acknowledged me. I've been getting dipped nails for years now, and I decided to try Veda for once because it was one of the only salons open on a Sunday. Big mistake. After paying $50 (before tip), I expected my nails to last for the normal month at least that my dip nails last. I had two nails chip within the first 5 days of getting them done. I then went to get them fixed and noticed when I got home that they are a dark navy blue and not the black that I had. I also paid $5 per nail to get fixed. I then had another nail chip 3 days after getting the other nails fixed. All of this within a week and a half and I don't use my hands for hard labor. So I paid $60 + tip for my dip nails to chip within 2 weeks. Never ever going back again. read more
