This spa recently changed owners and I have to say the difference that came with it is wonderful. The owner, Toni, is an absolute doll. She was an employee for quite some time before purchasing it. She does amazing work, treats her employees and guests with compassion and is hilarious. She's a fun person to conversate with. My review is for facials and waxings. I have been here quite a bit over the last few months (currently sitting in their parking lot since I arrived early for my appointment that I have today!) Each time I've been in, the receptionist is always so polite and gets me set up in the relaxation area until my tech is ready. They offer drinks, set you up in a massage chair and put a warm neck wrap on you. I always see Fay. I trust her with everything she does! I've received facials, backcials, Brazilian waxes and eyebrow shaping from her. I am NEVER disappointed. She is the one to see if you come for a service. The facial was amazing, but the massage was not was was expected at all. I asked for deep tissue and was given a very soft Swedish massage. I had knots and a crick in my neck when I arrived and felt no relief when I left. I specifically stated on my form I wanted relief from tension, not simply relaxation. The massage was very frustrating actually. There was no routine, different things were being done on different sides of my body, it just felt like someone was rubbing me down randomly at home. I have a friend who frequents SYS and insisted I check it out. We went as a group for pedicures on Saturday. I really like that you can book appointments online. I was the first to arrive for our date. I filled out the paperwork and then went back in to the relaxation room - a dimly lit room with spa-esque music playing and very comfy couches. I even got a very relaxing warm neck wrap - definitely a nice touch. Once everyone arrived, we went back to get our pedicures. I was blown away by the courteousness of the women working here. I warned that I am ticklish, and she was more than gentle when it came to the scrubbing - but still very thorough. They even recommended a great top coat that went well with my polish choice! Such a cute place! When you walk in the receptionist is so sweet and you instantly start to relax. After check in they take you back to the relaxation room to wait before your services. I got a warm wrap around my shoulders and sat in the massage chair. My facial was done by Kathy. I did the 30 min one and loved it! I have had many facials done in the past and she was very knowledgeable and attentive. My only complaint would be she didn't take any time to do extractions-but that may just have been because of the time. I would absolutely recommend her! I also had a gel manicure done by Taylor. She was great as well! She was very attentive to my requests and was willing to try new nail art I found on Pinterest. She certainly outperformed many nail salon techs in Charleston. My facial by Jocelyn was extraordinary. I love the products she used and her gentle and thorough approach to cleansing, purifying, and relaxing my face, neck, and even arms! My husband bought me a half day spa package for my birthday. Showed up the day of my appointment was told one of my services would have to be rescheduled due to the provider having an emergency. I was bummed but I get that. They had no other offerings available to fill that time and told me I could either hang out and wait for the next service or that I could come back. They also informed me that the service I would be coming back for was scheduled incorrectly and I'd have to wait even longer. I told them to cancel the remaining service because I wasn't going to come back after leaving since this was supposed to be a half day package. Really defeated the point of the package. Overall the staff was friendly. The massage I received was subpar, I felt no better leaving than I did when I got there. I was scheduled for a 90 minute massage and after being on the table for 70 minutes that massage therapist was done. When I walked out of the room, she handed me my water and wished me a good day, not mentioning that she had shorted me almost 1/3 of my massage time. Upon check out I asked the front desk person about the time difference of the service and with a deer in headlights look she began to apologize for the missed time and told me the therapist realized she'd shorted me after she walked out of the room, which I believe she had no idea because it wasn't mentioned by the therapist herself to me. Upon all the mishaps the did "kind of" try to rectify the situation by only changing for a 60 minute massage instead of 90 minute and telling me that I'll get 10% any services on my next visit. Not super thrilled because I do have the remainder of a half day gift certificate that I don't want to go to waste because my husband spent so much money on it, but I really don't want to go back because of the poor service and poor execution of the entire situation. read more

I was a walk-in at this business. I am grateful to be able to get in. I needed to get a facial bad since COVId shut everything down. The esthetician was able to make the appointment and schedule me in the next 45 minutes. She allowed me to go sit in a serenity room in a massage chair until my appointment. She was wearing a mask which I was grateful for. When she put me in a room to start my facial, I expressed to her that I haven't had a facial since Covid. She told me that Covid was overrated .... as she didn't have her mask on. I told her that I know people who died from COVId and I was very agitated that she said that . She told me the people didn't die from Covid... they died from Blood Clots. I closed my eyes and was wanting to leave at that point. But I wanted my facial. I figure she would put her mask on by now... but she didn't. I felt her breathing in my face and opened my eyes and saw she didn't have her mask on. So I asked her why she didn't have it on and if she wasn't afraid of getting Covid or passing it along. She said NO and she can't wear her mask because she can't breathe with the steam from the facial. I was soooo upset because Now I can't relax, and I am very uncomfortable at this point. All I could think of is if she is a carrier of COVId, she passed it to me. She finally said she would put her mask on later.... which I felt defeated the point. She was already breathing in my face. She did put it on by time she got to the pimple popping, which hurt really bad. I wasn't comfortable the entire facial and I felt like the esthetician's didn't care about making me feel comfortable. All she had to do is wear the mask like she did prior to doing the service. I gave her a tip , only because I was a walk-in and she provided a service. As I was leaving, it was apparent that she and the African American worker did not care for each other. They almost got in an argument at the register over the esthetician swiping the card too much. I can pick up on energy...anyway... if they enforce MASK wearing while providing service, I think it would be a better experience for me... at least until COVId is behind us. If I contract the disease, I know for a fact it is from this business. Update ( 8/19/2020). It's several days later since my facial. My skin has been broken out since then and seems traumatized. I have been applying Shea butter to help with it every day and night. My skin doesn't look good. I know I will have dark spots from where she used her tool to pop underlying pimples from clogged pores. I can already see the discoloration starting. I don't know what to do. This is the first facial I have had that my skin looks awful afterwards. If anyone has any suggestions on what I can do... please help. read more

They have lovely massage chairs and I was offered refreshment when I arrived. I take forever to pick polish and Niki was so patient with me. She was efficient, friendly and professional. I wanted this place to be really good! I thought $40 was a great price for a pedicure. For some reason, my pedi started 35-40 minutes late (and I was never told why). It seemed like it was my esthetician's first day on the job. I'm short (5'2"), so my feet didn't want to reach to the bowl. I asked if we could move the chair forward (because the one next to me was pushed forward all the way) but she didn't seem to know how. She had me sit forward and put a pillow behind me. Which meant I didn't get to enjoy the massage chair. My feet still didn't quite reach. She was much older than I expected. She started the service and proceeded to chat with me but I wasn't really interested. She was too gentle with the foot massage, but the polishing went fairly well. Though when I got a good look at it later, she seemed to have missed some spots. I want to go back and use some of the other services, but I may not go back for a pedi. read more

Came to Charleston with my boyfriend for the weekend. We went to Simply Your Spa for a couples massage and it was delightful. But before that, we had some car trouble on the way to Charleston which made us have to cancel our appointment 20 minutes before the scheduled time... Literally! I was upset because we were going to be charged the cancellation fee which is extra money we hadn't budgeted for. But even though the policy is to cancel at least 24 hours before, the staff was very understanding and waived the cancellation fee. We rescheduled our massage for 7:30p that evening and it was amazing. We has Chrisshon and Jessica as our massage therapists and they were great. This was my boyfriend's first massage and he wanted to take Jessica home with us lol.
