She came back in and the massage started a little after 3:40. My massage only lasted 15 minutes. I was back in the dressing room before 4:00. I then went to pay for my massage. The total was $85.00. I was asked if they could add 20% gratuity, I asked them if they could put it on the gift card as well and they said yes. They couldn't figure out how to do that so said I would have to leave gratuity in cash. Not a pleasant or enjoyable experience I felt like I was an inconvenience. I've had many other massages and this was definitely the most disappointing.

Am I compensating an employee or pool boy? lol In good faith, I proposed a reasonable compromise: a refund of half the charge. Instead, I was offered 50% off a future service, which sidesteps the actual issue -- that I should not have been charged the full $130 in the first place. Had the situation been handled with any consideration for the circumstances, a $65 charge would have more than covered the therapist's hourly rate and reflected basic fairness. This kind of experience is exactly why longtime residents of Mount Pleasant feel increasingly alienated by businesses that prioritize rigid policy over community and basic human decency -- treating loyal neighbors like transactions rather than people.

Compared to the West Ashley location, this one felt a little lighter on the "luxury spa" amenities in the getting-ready/post-service areas, but it didn't take away from the actual massage experience. Overall still a positive experience and a location worth returning to.
