There's a reason that these guys have such great reviews (and also a reason you often have to wait a week to get an appointment). I've had my cars into Devine 3 times so far, but only once have they recommended any actual service. They will NEVER upsell you on work that you don't need, and when they do end up doing a job for you it will be top notch. Besides their great service, here's a little anecdote of why I love these guys. My van started having some major issues right around Christmas. I called Devine and they said they can't get me in until next Wed. Since I was right down the road and the van was barely drivable, I asked if I could drop it off 5 days early. They told me "Well, it's a public parking lot so we can't guarantee its safety, but you're welcome to leave it". Yesterday, Saturday, I happened to be in the area and decided to just check in on my van (since I don't like the idea of it sitting there in the lot all weekend) ... only to discover that they had moved it and all the other cars waiting for service into their garages for safe keeping over the weekend. I went to these guys today because my Subaru Crosstrek (with only 40k miles) had the check engine light come on conveniently as my warranty had just expired. Seeing as the joke that is Lithia Subaru wanted $164 just to diagnose it, I decided to try a smaller place that didnt want to just rip me off. These guys were awesome! I told them what was happening and right away they had an idea what to do. I dropped it off this morning around 9 and they called me and had it ready by 2! They were really fairly priced, didn't try to sell me ANYTHING and the best part is my car feels like its running better than when I first bought it! I will 100% come back here! A 5-Star Review, and I've never done business with them! Our 2008 Honda Fit was lurching. The engine light came on. I went to O'Reilly Auto Parts where they read the codes for free. The 3 codes indicated misfires on cylinders 3 and 4, plus miscellaneous misfires . The recommended fix was new ignition coils - up to $100 each. I called Devine to get an estimate on installation. Trevor quoted $50, but then said that those codes sounded more like spark plugs than ignition coils and to try replacing those first. I bought 4 new plugs and watched a couple installation videos and, bam, smooth-running car and the engine light is off. I guarantee that when auto repair IS required, Devine is the first place I will call because they put my best interest ahead of a quick, easy, profitable and unnecessary shop visit. I was driving down the highway and my red light came on indicating a battery charging problem and the charging went to zero. I knew I had to get it fixed and fast. I called around and talked to several repair shops and got quotes as high as $1,000. I called Trever at Divine and he quoted me around $350. I pulled in and they started right away. They said they would call me when it was finished. When they called they said it was only a broken wire and I didn't need a new alternator. $125 was the bill. I was taken back by their honesty. They could have sold me a new alternator. For their honesty, I told them they deserved a good review. Tadd was also very kind and helpful. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First off, let me throw some numbers out for everyone. I have a 2002 Mazda Protege and I am a big shopper. I needed my front brake pads done - that's all! I called the following places and got the following numbers and responses: Big O Tires - $250 total cost Les Schwab - $205 total cost Wayne's Automotive - "yeah, if you are trying to shop around, we are not cheap! $300." end of conversation. Meineke (both stores) - "oh, we need to have the car in the shop to look at it, we don't trust anybody's opinion! we can tell you what repairs you need, we really want you to come in, you sound like a lady that needs to get her stuff done right the first time" - no quote provided Valhalla - $205 total cost So by now I am thinking... alright that's about how much this thing costs. I decide to call one more place - DEVINE. They quote me $134. I said "what?????" $134 dollars, no extra costs - 2 line items - brake pads for $16 a pop and the labor. That's it - no bullsh!ting around! Brake pads installed! So impressed! The guys are super nice both in person and over the phone. I have experienced many mechanic shops in town and this is the first time I had a good experience. read more

This is THE place. I visited Devine Auto initially about 3 years ago before a long road trip. I just wanted to get my car checked out since it is older(2003 Toyota Corolla with 200k + miles) and they let me know everything looked fine and all they did was an oil change. Sweet! Again today, I took the car in, convinced that it needed a major tune up and a brake job. Imagine my surprise when they called me and told me my brakes were fine(lots of life left and that the noise was due to dust build up that they cleared out) and that they really only needed to perform an oil change and tire rotation(per my request). Really?! I was(am) seriously happy. These guys are really nice, both over the phone and in person. Scheduling an appointment was really easy, they open on time, their pricing is REALLY fair, and they don`t try to sell you work that isn`t needed. Awesome! read more

If there is anywhere you should take your car for basic or extensive service, it's here. My wife and I used to own an Audi A4 that was nothing but trouble and at only 3 years old was falling apart. Even with extended warranty options the dealer always wanted a fortune to fix each sensor, electrical or mechanical issue that arose. We would take it in first to the dealer for an estimate on repairs and turn around every time to get a second opinion from Devine. Every single time, Devine was less than half the price for parts and labor and had the car back to us in a day! For example, two oxygen sensors went out. Audi quoted us $1200 to replace them indicating the engine had to be lowered to get to one of them. Devine quoted us just under $400, informed us they did not need to lower the engine, and they would have it done the next day! Now that's service! I now send everyone I know there and they are always impressed just the same. I get all my service completed there and any repairs too. I am always confident it will be done right in a timely manner without killing the ol' check book. read more

I moved to Reno in October 2012 and have been unimpressed with a nationwide chain here that I received exceptional service from in my previous locale. I am now hopeful I have found a local shop to take care of my vehicle like I was used to. I knew I was in need of new front brakes. I visited more than 8 different businesses before selecting Devine Automotive. Not only did they treat me with respect, they recognized that I had at least a basic knowledge of my vehicle and at least attempted to make an effort to know what was going on with my mode of transportation. At a few places I received quick, straightforward quotes on service. Other places I got a run around and one in particular was actually hostile. After conducting my research I made the decision to get my vehicle serviced here. All of the personnel were polite, the service was completed ahead of the time estimate and the quote was accurate. I have been shopping for a reliable auto shop, and after trying a few businesses prior I decided to give Devine Automotive a try. I made an 8:30AM appointment through email for an oil change and tire rotation service for my Acura TL, and I received a reply from Mr. Tadd with an itemized and reasonable list of cost. He also stated in the memo that the tires would be checked and rotated if necessary. The tires on my sedan are less than a year old, and I hardly drove anywhere due to the Pandemic. I also examined the treads before making the appointment, and I knew they would not need rotation; however, I still included this service in the appointment to get their perspective. They did not disappoint, as they also stated that the tires do not need rotation. Granted, this service is not expensive, but for me it is the principle of the matter. Their service was straightforward, timely and accurate. Since I only needed an oil change, I will update this review or post new ones as I return for future maintenance or repairs. read more

I have been bringing my car here for many years. When you walk in, you see the familiar faces of the owners, Tadd and Trevor and know that you are in good hands. I had my car in there for a quick oil change and was completed that same day. The following day, my fan in my car completely went out. I was very concerned and called them right away, they checked it out as soon as I got there and found that a fuse was broken and needed to be replaced. Finding the part in Reno was a bit difficult, but Tadd was on the phone calling all of his vendors trying to see which one could get it to him the fastest. The following day, it was delivered and I had my car, and fan running smoothly without any problems. I have never been treated more rudely. I had my car towed here late last night, and went in this morning to speak with them. I was given a shoulder shrug and told there was nothing they could do that day (all I wanted was a diagnosis before the long weekend). I asked if they'd be able to look at it Tuesday. I was given another shoulder shrug and told he had no idea when they'd be able to look at it. I found another shop to take the vehicle to. When I explained to the guy that I would have been fine leaving it there and that they came highly recommended, but the fact that he shrugged his shoulders at me when I was trying to just find out a simple time frame was rude. He said sorry without even taking his eyes off his computer screen. Very poor customer service in my eyes. read more

I've been coming to Tadd & Trevor on and off for years - since they were with Compact Car Repair over on Wells. The only reason I don't use them religiously is because often times I will get a new car and have prepaid maintenance through the dealer as part of my payment. Otherwise, they are my go to shop in town. I also have recommended them to family and friends over the years because I know them to be good-natured, honest guys that don't try to upsell or give you a line of BS. With that said, Trevor's demeanor on my last 2 encounters has been quite off-putting. It's obvious something is awry because a friend has also noticed the same thing. He sits in his chair and doesn't even make eye contact or greet you when you walk through the door. What happened to the upbeat guy who used to happily talk with his customers? Tadd on the other hand is great and you can tell he really cares about his customers. I cannot speak highly enough of him. I hope that whatever is going on with Trevor can be worked out. Until then I will cautiously recommend them with the caveat that they should deal with Tadd if at all possible. 1 star based on Trevor, 5 stars based on Tadd, and 5 stars based on price/quality of work = 4 stars overall. read more

Made an appointment for an oil change and they got me in the next morning; their schedule seems very flexible which I like for being a college student and working full time. I was planning to go hiking after my oil change so I had my dog in the car. I was pleased when Tadd mentioned they are dog friendly and allowed me to bring Koda inside their lobby. I showed up about 10-15 minutes early, they finished up with the client that was in the lobby then asked for my keys right on time for my 10am appointment. The wait time wasn't bad at all, it took approximately forty minutes for the oil change. It was brought to my attention that my air filter was dirty & had mice nests inside. I asked how much he would charge to replace it and I was quoted $45-$50. I told him I would just take care of it when I got home. When I did take a look at the air filter, it seemed relatively clean to me... I didn't see much of a nest, just a little bit of debris which came off when I tapped the filter on the sidewalk. I have heard of places claiming you have an air filter that needs replacing just to scam you for money, but I honestly don't believe that was the case here. Overall, I really liked this place and I will continue to come here for maintenance and oil changes on my vehicle. read more

These guys know their stuff. As well, they are very helpful. I took my Nissan truck in a second time with my engine light on. They reset it, suggested against a huge cost to replace something that isn't necessary and didn't charge me the second visit for the assessment and engine light reset. That's what I call honest guys! Great service! We have been going to Devine for about 5 years. They have always been honest and cheaper than anywhere else. I've had them tell me that something does not need to be done on my old cars, that it's not worth spending the money and the car is still safe to drive, where other places said it did need to be fixed (i.e. new struts on a '95). I felt like they were taking advantage of me so I got a 2nd opinion with Devine. They let me know my front brakes were fine and good for another 10,000 miles, my oil was fine, and the check engine light was harmless and had to just do a reset.
