I got the chicken sandwich a few people were talking about, which sounded different and interesting - it's not. Not the worst I've had, but certainly not the best. Delivery was OUTRAGEOUSLY overpriced ($6!) and took over an hour. Overall? Meh - plenty of better options with cheaper/free delivery. Might as well go to Portillo's read more

Love! The hot dogs were so smothered that I couldn't even finish mine. The loaded cheese fries were revelatory. I don't know why I don't only eat fries like those. read more

Their shakes are super tasty. I had the Chicago style dog and it was spot on. Good value for what you are given. Only knock on the place is what has already been mentioned, that they automatically add gratuity to your check out. I feel any one can ask for gratuity, but this is not the establishment that should be so presumptuous as to already add it. read more

We are visiting Chicago for a few days. Heard a lot of hype about Devil Dawgs and wanted to try them out. Was a rainy Sunday and say that food could be ordered online for delivery at the Devil Dawgs restaurant website. the on-line ordering is driven by a company called ChowNow. I will say that the ordering process seemed to be very clear and easy. Once we place our order I got a confirmation email that said the food would be delivered around 12:13 PM. At 12:33 we still had not gotten the order so i thought I would call the restaurant to make sure they actually had the order. Rang about 6 or 7 times with no answer so I hung up figuring that they were busy and running behind. Waiting another 10 mins and called again this time letting ring tell the voicemail picked up. Big surprise the mail box is full so no message can be left. I finally got a call from the front desk around 12:55 PM that the food was in the lobby. I went down to get it and the delivery drive just practically tosses me the bags and says here is your food. First thing I noticed is that the Milk shakes we ordered were in a paper bag which was inside two plastic bags. The plastic bag bottom was covered with melted milk shake with about 1/3 of the two milks shakes and of course the cups were covered in it so each would have to be wiped clean before even being able to drink them. the two sliders and one hot dog we ordered were basically crushed in their respective paper bag. The "bucket of fries" was also half crushed it it's bag. I will assume that this was caused by the delivery person but no way to know. The food itself was not bad but it definitely was not worth this hassle. I had asked for ketchup with the fries and did not get any. he "Awesome Sauce" I did get was not all that awesome. If the milk shakes had not been basically melted completely they may have been pretty good but I have had better. I ordered Dark Chocolate with caramel added. If it was dark chocolate I would hate to see the Milk chocolate (which would probably be basically vanilla). I am not sure if it was just the delivery company that really messed this up or a combination of Devil Dawgs staff and the Delivery guy but was a very low note for my Wife and my vacation. Will not be eating here again. i would recommend that Devil Dawg rethink their delivery policy and affiliation with ChowNow. I would recommend to others if they want to eat here ever and need delivery to use Door Dash or something like that. read more

Excellent hot dog. Mediocre fries. I'm going to try a shake next time.

4 stars for the nice dawg selection and reasonable prices. I had a serious hot dog craving so I hit up DD. I got a very tasty Polish Dog - the grilled onions hit the spot, and a classic Chicago Dog with mustard and green relish. DD is great if you've got a craving and have the time to get outside the Loop for lunch. read more

Damn good shakes, dogs, clucker sandwiches, fries, o-rings and veggie burgers. You will not be disappointed!!

Very good food. We had the Chicago dog and the southern slaw dog, both were excellent along with the bucket of fries with cheese and devil sauce. They accidentally put the cheese and devil sauce on the fries instead of the side and just made us another order, no fuss and give us the first one for free. Seats 24, so a lot of takeout. The shakes look delicious and require an extra thick straw for consumption. Will definitely be back when in town. read more

I cant say more good things about this place. I moved to south loop a month ago and Ive been here 10 times at least. Love the burgers and mint oreo shakes. Who cant get down on a bucket of fries!! Im working my way through the menu and have not been disappointed by anything. Great job guys! read more

We went to Devil Dawgs today after reading Clayton L's review and I must say that I agree 100%. The chocolate peanut butter shake was awesome. The clucker sandwich was a mouth-watering mix of crunchy fried chicken, sweet cole slaw, and spicy sauce. Served with onion rings it is a wonderful trio. Do not come here to count calories. read more

Great dogs and fries. It was open after the Cubs game and we stopped in starving. Would definitely go back!

awesome to stop in and grab a hot dog and fries. we got cheese fries and chicago dogs, both were delicious. prices are very reasonable and the place was busy, but we still got our food very vast! read more

The chicken sandwich here is amazing. Love the slaw, red sauce and bun on it. Fries are pretty good and so are the dogs. Need to try the burgers next. read more

Had the chicken sandwich and fries. Both were really good. I know. I know. Why didn't I have a hot dog at a dogs place.

If you are looking for a great local place to get a dog, I would definitely recommend this. The location is small so getting a table might be tough depending on the time of day, but the food is great and the people are friendly. The food is always freshly made, and the portion sizes are great. They also have a large variety of hotdog styles, from the classic Chicago to the Coney dog with chili. Milkshakes are very tasty as well to finish things off. read more

really impressed, needed some good food for a late night craving, loved the decor, ordered a shroom burger with onion rings and their awesome sauce. food has big flavor, juicy, grab extra napkins. read more

My fiancé and I wanted to try something near and delicious. We took action and visit Devils Dawg , I purchased the famously known "Elvis" burger . My fiancé had purchased the " Kick Ass" double burger and the bucket "O" fries . We were patiently waiting for our food, as we heard the young man called out " 32" we stood up with excitement as we gladly revived our order . As we unwrapped our burgers . We were dramatically shocked at how small it was . One bite out of the burger and it was done ! We are very disappointed in how small the burgers are I mean they are delicious but too small ! . We are never going there AGAIN . After we finished the burgers we went to @buffalowildwings . read more

This place is yummy. Started with a Coney Chili Cheese dog with onion rings and loved it so much, ordered two more dogs and a chocolate malt. That's an endorsement. Especially loved the onion rings and would have given this place 5 stars if the hot dogs were bigger, but this place doesn't disappoint. Food coma is so satisfying.... read more

Does the job for a late night dog and fries. A wide variety of different toppings for hot dogs. Fries were a bit subpar but I would return for the dogs and shakes. read more

The food was great. My favorite was the chili cheese fries! Wow that was great. Only reason it got 4 stars cause there was not public restrooms. read more

Went there a few days ago and got a chocolate monkey milkshake. It was good so I wanted to get another one today. I went there late and the guy gave me the wrong one. If you're making more than one milkshake at a time, keep track of what milkshake you're making. it's not that hard. And then the guy got mad at me when I politely told him he gave me the wrong one. read more

I got the usual chicago hot dog and morning burg. The latter is fantastic and a reason for coming back!

I only stopped in really quick to get a simple Chicago Dog. They delivered a really good one. Also, there was House music playing, which made it a perfect Chicago experience for me. read more

I had a decent experience. I didn't have to wait too long for my order (granted, i arrived at 10:30am) and the milkshake (strawberry fresh) was the best one I've had in a very long time--maybe even the best ever. I got 3 to share: the chicago, the southwest coleslaw, and the seoul. I like kimchi, a lot, but for me, it was just too much to handle. I stopped after one bite. The chicago was good, but the celery salt was a bit too heavy, and the pickle seemed more cucumber than pickle. There was also a half-pickled pickle on the southwest coleslaw, but i just took it off and enjoyed. In fact, that was my favorite one. If i went back, I would get the southwest coleslaw and maybe a Chicago sans celery salt and pickle. I would also probably order 2 or 3 more milkshakes. read more

Embarrassing customer service. Went here a couple weeks ago with friends. The white haired gentleman.... I hope he was the owner, otherwise I cannot imagine him ever retaining a job, was a grade a toolbag. He was immediately in over his head with the slight semblance of a rush. He snapped at my friend because she tried to order a Chicago dawg and a Chicago polish (both of which were on the menu). After repeating the order to her twice as two Chicago dawgs, which was not her order, he finally, rudely, told her he didn't understand her. Her husband had to eventually order, but alas the order still came out wrong. Then it was my turn. I went up with the exact order I wanted, as to not make his head explode with the "complexity" that was their menu. He took it and, much to my surprise, success, he was able to put the whole order in with little hassle. But then the time came to pay... And he was undone. I gave him my card and he said it wasn't working... I explained that I had just checked the balance and asked him to try it again. That was where he snapped. Completely lost, with eyes bulging like the insect I am sure he was before some kind of black magic made him into a human male running a hot dog shop in Chicago's loop, he said, "it says it is not working." obviously, the idea of technology being difficult to much for his tiny bug brain to comprehend. I asked him once more to try it again, but this time I did use a certain expletive. There I might have been wrong, but I cannot imagine anyone letting an angry old white man who May or may not have been an angry old insect in years past talk to them in the manner in which I, a willfully paying customer, was talked to. He then said if I continued to talk like that, then I could just leave. So I did. And btw, my card worked fine at the Jimmy John's next door. But technology can be really hard for people of a certain generation. As well as manners apparently. Please don't waste your time or money here. I only tried a bite of my friends hot dog, but it was no better than any hot dog you cab get on the street. Literally on the street. And I bet you would get better customer service from the homeless man watching over it. A damn disappointment, for sure. read more

Surprisingly their hotdogs are not the best I've had, but their burgers are ridiculously good. Just remember to get a double or tripple- very tiny burgers! Their clucker sandwich is the best chicken sandwich I've ever eaten. I mean it's stupid good. Oh and their milkshakes are freaking incredible- especially the salted caramel. read more

Wouldn't recommend forgot a hot dog, no condiments in our burgers, didn't label anything in out order ( we had 6 burgers two chicken sandwiches and a couple hot dogs) and when we called back to get the rest of our order they were rude! Never again read more

Food was delicious!! Staff were helpful explaining the menu. Portions were large. This was a true Chicago experience.

Three stars due to the lack of space and the heat. We were sweating the whole time. Order the clucker chicken sandwich because that's the famous one. The onion rings and Seoul dawg is bomb too. read more

The Clucker is AMAZING. After tromping around the Shedd Aquarium all day then tromping around Chicago some more to find dinner that already tired and hungry and picky four and nine year old kids would eat, dining at Devil Dawgs seemed like a potential gamble on an already precarious situation. NOT SO. The food being prepared looked so good and true to the very roots of fast food that we could barely contain our eagerness while we waited for our order to come up. And our order did not disappoint - from the crispy/spicy/soft pretzely Clucker sandwich to the melt in your mouth Steak Burger and salty/savory hand-cut fries. There were no complaints and not a crumb left when we were done. Thank you Devil Dawgs, thank you for making me dream about your Clucker for the rest of my life... read more

Very disappointing. Busy Sunday evening. We arrived at 10 pm with 12 customers waiting to order. Took us 30 minutes to order 3 Chicago dogs and an order of fries. Service was terrible. Hot dog was not cooked. After looking forward to having a genuine Chicago style dog, I ate half of 1 and threw rest away. On bright side, fries were good. Bun was soggy, hot dog was cold. read more

Hot Dog fans, let me make it easy for you. Devil Dawgs makes THE BEST hotdogs in Chicago. The end.

food is good... im just kinda put off at how the shakes cost more than the actual food... at $5.25 the shake should be 1 liter.... lol
