At first, a reluctant choice due to non existent appointments at the apple store, and now a totally happy camper. Alas, my phone battery turned into a POS, giving me anxiety on my travels as it dangerously dips below 20% on 'low power mode' in less than 6 hours. This place is better than the apple store- no crowds, no parking fuss at the mall, very clean, no lines, just Action. Get in, tell them the problem, they will check diagnostics in 2 min, check your warranty status for you, deliver the bad news that the warranty will only cover the battery if its "79%" or lower, give a genuine look of apology (even tho it's not even close to being their fault), and let you know its $100 to change the battery. Two hours later-- phone call that it's ready to pick up, and voila- back to phone battery bliss. ... until that fateful day arrives yet again, where the sucky ass battery will unleash the fury and withers away in the progress... I will be back. Both for the efficiency of service and of course the inevitable necessity; the vicious circle of life that is the iPhone battery. A warning: there is a rather large elephant (that is actually kindda cute) that made me thrice double-take because I thought it was a big brown dog. It will tug at your dog-pet-yearning heartstrings, and make you miss your mutt at home waiting for you to return from this annual battery-swapping quest. read more

When my computer went kaput, I thought I'd have to visit the zoo that is the Manhattan Beach Apple Store. So when the Apple support site offered me the earliest appointment at Deviceland, I snapped it up. When I arrived, there was no one else there, and they said no appointment was even necessary, I could've just walked in. They are authorized for Apple service and were able to make the repair under my warranty. It took less than 30 hours for them to diagnose the problem (dead logic board), order the replacement part, and install it. (Compare this to the Apple Store, where they insist on sending the computer elsewhere and it takes at least 4 days to get it back.) There were some minor problems: They forgot to have me turn off the machine in-store, and I had to do it through my phone later, but it just took a minute. They never called me to update me--I had to phone them. But overall I am extremely pleased and, while I hope I don't need computer or device service any time soon, Deviceland will be my go-to for repairs from now on. read more

Do not buy any product from this store. I bought a pair of Apple Airpods. Their return policy is completely different from Apple or for that matter even Amazon. They do not accept returns. Even though it was within 7 days. They first stated that it was official Apple policy. When I refuted their claim and went on the Apple website and stated verbatim what was written on the Apple website, the man suddenly said, that it was not the Apple company policy, but, their policy. Buyers beware. Apple needs to revisit if they want to allow this company to represent them. Why would anyone want to buy from this company when Apple and other sites offer not only a better deal but, also good old American service and return policy. They never get my business again! Sohail assisted me with rebooting my 2018 MacBook Pro. I've been using it for recording sessions and ran into some issues. After troubleshooting and upgrading the OS, I realized that my DAW was incompatible with the new OS. I tried downgrading and made a terrible mistake as my computer would not turn on and was stuck in a loop. Sohail diagnosed my computer and found issues with the fan, smoke damage, and the battery. I was there again this morning and got the kind of customer service that I always receive when I've been in there. It is always excellent! My interaction with Karen this morning was approximately 15-20min long and she listened to me and fixed my problem with a pleasant professionalism that I've come to expect every time I've been in their store. After she'd sorted out my problem, I asked how much I owed and she said "nothing at all". I insisted on giving her $20 but still felt like I'd cheated them out of the correct billing. Took my AirPod pros in for a repair. Deviseland had quoted me on the phone time wise 3-4 business days. I took them in Wednesday afternoon, when I got there I told them I was going on a trip and would be leaving Saturday. They said they would see what they could do. Well they did it! They repaired them by Friday morning. I was so happy. They told me I would have to pair the AirPods to my devices again. For some reason I had a problem. I dropped my phone and cracked the screen for the first time ever in 13 years. Less than an hour later and for $29 I had what felt like a brand new phone (I have Apple Care+). I called Deviceland. I had no appointment. They told me to come in and that it would take two hours. They were closing in two hours. I ran a couple errands and then got the notice my phone was ready within one hour. Came here to get a battery changed on an iphone. We made an appointment. We were able to check in about 10 minutes before our appointment. Battery was changed in a little less than 2 hours. The staff was nice and quick. I'm not sure if appointments are required, but I suggest making one. The place wasn't swamped, but there was a constant flow of customers coming in. It's been a few days with the new battery and no issues. Will update if there is any issues. read more

A few days ago my MacBook Pro track pad started acting wonky. Wonky meaning it wouldn't work on the bottom left corner which meant no screenshots, no highlighting, no selecting which as a photographer, creator, and coach doesn't work for me. So I took it into Deviceland and the gentleman who helped me was super friendly, kind, and helpful. He mentioned the battery might be swollen which apparently has been on the recall list for MacBooks. So he took my laptop and less than 24 hours later called me back saying it was ready and there was no charge for taking care of the recall. Apple referred me to this store and scheduled me an appointment so I don't have to go to the Genius Bar in Manhattan Beach. I called to confirm and see if I needed to bring anything other than my iMac. The guy interrupted me in kid conversation and ask me what the problem is I explained then in mid conversation again stops me and asks what year my iMac is, then says we don't deal with anything old as your iMac and hung up. It's probably a cultural thing but me being Asian interrupting people in mid conversation it just felt like he wasn't interested in helping anyone. Just my opinion, I wouldn't doubt if they take people for their hard earned money. Keep your money and find more trust worthy folks to help you on your MAC products. I have old iPhone6 Plus and needed a battery replacement after talking with the Apple specialist. The battery was draining so fast and I needed to constantly charging it throughout the day. I got tired of it and decided to call Apple. There are two local Apple stores but not too close and their stores are pretty busy all the time and I was a bit discouraged to walk in there even with an appointment. I looked again and found the "authorized" location near my work in Torrance. I had the appointment and was able to meet with the rep right away. It was not too crowded. They kept my phone for about one hour and got a call for pick up. It was smoothly processed and the price was the same as it was shown on the Apple website ($49 + $25 service fee). I had an old macbook that I wasn't able to turn on and needed to access the hard drive to pull some files off. Brought it in and they were able to remove the hard drive but for some reason it wasn't able to mount to their shop computer so they couldn't access any files. Data recovery was suggested by them which was $480 and could take up to 7 days to be successful, or might not even be successful. I decided to get a second opinion so I took the hard drive to another computer technician and he was able to not only mount the hard drive to his computer but was able to pull the files I needed and charged me only $75 for labor. I'm not sure if Deviceland was pulling a sales maneuver or what but something didn't sit right with me, especially since they are an Apple certified shop. Regardless, staff was friendly and very capable and I intend to return so I can get a new battery for me Macbook air. read more

I recently went to Deviceland at the recommendation from the Apple store to fix a cracked screen and shield on my iPhone, gave them the phone and agreed to pay the fee (by the way I recommend getting AppleCare on your device), it was pretty expensive but I wanted a clean screen. When I went back to pick it up was happily shocked that I was in a business with total integrity, they informed me only my shield needed to be replaced and that right there saved me an extra several hundreds of dollars. Must say how nice it is to be courtesy and honesty! This business could very easily have pulled one over on me just to make more money. Thanks again guys for having great character. read more

I went in for help with boot camp (trying to install windows 10 for those programs aren't available on mac). I was skeptical that the workers at deviceland would help me at all because I spent multiple hours on the phone with the apple help desk and the windows help with both telling me that I was calling the wrong company because it is not their program/ operating system. Don and Sohail here helped me with my issue without just sending me away at the first mention of windows and even solved the issue! After I went to go pick up the computer Don even told me what was going wrong with the installation. This place is awesome!
