I had such a good experience that I wrote this within 10 minutes of getting my phone back. Highly recommend. I have an iPhone 12 mini, which is now 4 years old. The back camera stopped focusing last week, and I'm going on vacation in 4 days and want to be able to take pictures. I took this in to the Apple Genius Bar and they told me that I would need to buy a replacement phone because in addition to the camera issue, there was a crack in my back glass and they couldn't just fix the camera. This replacement iPhone 12 was going to cost $400 and take several days to get in. After leaving Apple, I called Custom iPhones & Repairs. They quoted me $85 and a 30 minute repair time. I don't like to write bad reviews, but the more I thought about this horrible experience, the more I realize it was just bad work compounded by bad customer service. Otherwise I wouldn't be writing this. The back glass on my new iPhone broke so I brought it here instead of Apple. It's an easy job I've done myself on past iPhones, but this was a new iPhone & I didn't have the part. This was purely cosmetic. PROBLEM #1: When I got home, I discovered a 'light' in the middle of the screen, like some pixels were broken, so I took it back. They admitted (oops) they left tiny bits of broken glass inside the phone that were pushing on the LCD and causing this problem- it was very sloppy work. They said they'd clean it up for free but I'd have to leave the phone again for a few hours. PROBLEM #2: When I went back the 2nd time they said, "unfortunately while putting it back together the front screen cracked." They didn't offer a refund, and said they'd fix it for free (uh, thank you?) BUT that if I had them fix the LCD, it would nullify my Apple warranty. So what choice did I have? Take back a phone in pieces that someone I paid $100 broke, or let them fix their break, but destroy my warranty? They should have returned my $100+ right there, but they didn't. PROBLEM #3: After they "fixed it" and now with my iPhone fully out of warranty, some apps just wouldn't work. The screen went black with text that read, "Unable to determine if your iPhone display is a genuine Apple part. This could be because the part is not genuine, not functioning as expected or the installation is not complete." In the end: they broke my phone for real (not cosmetic), rendered it out of warranty, used some cheap fake parts and still charged me. There was no way I was going back to this place again (or more likely break it) again. BEWARE: You may end up having a much bigger problem because of them. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

A new edition has joined Custom IPhones & Repairs team by the name of Eric. Although he's new to the shop, he's not new to repairing and servicing devices. I needed a screen replaced on an Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max, which Eric was able to replace within 10 minutes. He first examined the iPhone prior to starting the repair. Then after completing the repair, he verified everything worked and functioned fine before handing back my iPhone. Although I'm donating this phone, the replacement screen and labor was reasonable. Whomever will be the recipient of the phone will basically have a new iPhone. Eric also applied a customer's iPad screen protector at no charge, but also demonstrated on how to apply it without any air bubbles. Unfortunately, I had a slightly different experience than most of the other reviewers. The rep at the store was very nice and responsive and service was quick. But my phone repair left my phone worse off than before. I had a small but noticeable crack across the top of my screen, but no other damage to aesthetics or usability. The new screen has a noticeable blue purple tint over everything, changed the touch screen responsiveness for the worse, and now has a bright white spot on the bottom of the phone. I think the screen isn't quite the right size it sits a bit convex/rounded on the phone. I was hoping to get one more year out of this iPhone, but now I will need to get a new one.
